Gotta remember that everyone has different tastes and Red Emperor is one of the best. But for me Coral Trout hands down! It's the only fish that i don't beer batter.
If you say one species is better than the rest then you either haven't fished enough or cooked enough. I've converted many people whom claim to not like eating fish to loving it. The most common species to do that with (for me) is Large Mouth Nannygai and Red Emperor. In saying that Gold spot cod caught from the reef is better than both those species on occasion. I've caught blue bone tusk fish that melt in your mouth and others that have eaten undesirable crustaceans that make the flesh smell uneatable (and taste horrible). If you only eat demersal species then the flavors will change with their habitat. Pelagic species such as mackerel, tuna, mahi etc mostly move with the same water temps and same food supply so flavors and textures only change with age. Having lived on an island forever, and finding many different ways to cook fish dependent on the species and age/size, makes you aware of how to best prepare differing seafood. Love the videos, so keep them coming guys. Have an Epic 2024!
Yes mate I couldn’t agree more, still plenty of fish in the ocean we haven’t even tried yet and plenty more way we are learning to prepare and cook all species of fish. I strongly agree anyone can be converted to a certain fish and the biggest one for us is cod. Although we don’t eat a lot of it as we are spoilt for choice we still think gold spot are beautiful eating.
Great vids ! Keep it up 🤙🏼🍻 My fav fish would be Tuskies or Trout too but depends on how your cooking it, light crumbed and shallow fried for sure but if you want a steak Spanish or longtail works a treat on the BBQ
I reckon Robinson sea brim, mine crumbs Lemmon pepper garlic granuals on a foot long weapp topped some red +green sh#tv&red onion cheese sweeze bush lemon topped with freeh callinarri rings pure white aa fillets no blood no bones no pin bones all fillet once rout all red fish tusky great, but i think y no,1 been eating fish my whole life day inand day out , doesn't even have fish smel about it👌
Not sure why TH-camrs go to such lengths to keep their location a secret. Would be a much more entertaining watch if we saw a bit of how you cross the cape from Weipa, where you launch and travel etc.
Hey Glen we have never kept our location a secret and if you go back on our pervious videos at the location you find a pretty detailed video on the location including how to even book the camping through qld national parks. Unfortunately after videoing the same drive, boat ramp and location to set off from a few times not everyone wants to watch that same thing over again.
Great family video mate.
