When I spoke to Pyron earlier today, one of the main reasons for not completing the game, along with the fact it’s a small team and would require a ton of work, is that Warner Bros are very strict with their IP’s. PS: love that Starscream avatar.
I can see this being an excellent launching off point to port/create other beat em ups for the Mega Drive. The huge sprites with smooth framerate and action speak to great possibilities.
Yeah, the Lynx game is one of those ones where they spiked the difficulty to "sadistic, masochistic, you will cry" to hide the complete lack of any kind of level design. You can sort-of cheese it by constantly jumping forwards but that doesn't help you with the bosses.
I have the demo on my Super Nintendo Mini and was enjoying it alongside the full Super Nintendo game earlier today. I love that I can now play all these old and new retro games together there on the one awesome system. I'm appreciating that little fact more every day.
Great stuff as always. Im waiting to get an Everdrive so I can play all these homebrews on actual hardware. Going to be all my Christmas' come at once when that happens!
The SNES version is one of my favourite games on the system. I finally completed this year 😂. Some excellent work here. Shame they would get shut down if they carried it on. I wish companies would allow us up buy these for a few quid each, but they aren't bothered about small titles, they want £10m pet protect it seems
Are there any plans for them to make this open source, so someone else could possibly carry on with the development?
Not that I’m aware of Larry.
I hope they decide to continue with development after the positive reception.

It needs a sega cd or 32x cd port where we can add driving stages from the sega cd port.

Brazilliant. Amazing work from Pyron and the team pushing the Megadrive to its limits. Top video James.
What a day for SEGA fans, Batman Returns (SNES) gets a Genesis port, Sonic Mania gets a PSP port, and best of all Sonic Robo Blast 2 gets a 32X port.

These devs are the heroes Gotham deserves.

Looks great , shame they not doing more levels
I always though the animation on the snes was lacking , this looks smoother
I hope this isn't something that he starts and doesn't finish like Pyron did with Sunset Riders Arcade edition on MD.
I quoted Pyron in the video … there is no intention to finish the game, but instead use the techniques learned in future projects.
@@SEGAGuys Haha yeah I commented before finishing the video. It's a crying shame, it really would be nice to see these things finished!

It feels more arcade than the SNES version!
I honestly like the Genesis version of Batman Returns better even if I think the SNES version looked better from a technical point of view
I hate to be negative but is this just a pallet swap using another game?
No. Full details are on Pyron’s site, link in the description.
@ cool I’ll look into that! 🙂
We got a better version then super nintendo Sega genesis has more stuff
@@inceptionalThe snes was a tainted RPG machine, and you are a fairy boy who twirls to the whimsical fairy fountain theme from zelda 🧚
