    I am not new to having a multi-dog household, but litter mates will be new for me. I also love training time and have always had good citizen fur babes.
    In preparation of my litter mates I’ve done some research on the possible signs of this “litter mate syndrome” and training methods and have found that a lot of the content available is preparing me to have two goldendoodles that will fight to the death and the remaining survivor eats my family…

    I can’t tell you how helpful this was and sooo reasonable! I did go in panic mode after we already adopted our two sweet loving rescues. We are intentional and plan to train them. Your info was so practical and so helpful to address and prevent and be realistic without the fear! Thank you!

    My wife and I have two beautiful additions to our family. Our little guys are 3 month and 4 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are from separate parents, but were raised together in the same household, by the breeder, and socialized together will all of their "house mates". I've had them for three days now, in a single play pen, which is attached to a single kennel. I have also assembled a large pen, outside, for them to play and for potty breaks. I saw a video, yesterday, about this whole sibling issue and was frankly quite surprised. My dear friend has had pairs of pugs for over 30 years now and has had no issues. In fact, when I had only one adult, rescue Cavalier, he suggested that I get another and my guys were best friends and would curl up next to each other whenever they needed a nap. We had no problems with either their relationships with us, or each other. I am making it a point to take my new pups out for leash training, separately, which has been very helpful in getting them started down that road. And, I take them both out at 11PM, 4AM and 8AM for potty breaks and many times throughout the day. The potty training has been a great success, so far.
    I am a bit apprehensive to go with two crates, but if you really believe it is necessary, I will see how things progress and add the second crate if I see problems developing. Please feel free to advise me where I might be going wrong here.
    Thank you for the video! You guys are great!

      Hey there! Congratulations on your new puppies. We do recommend separate crates. You can start with them right next to one another and then slowly work on separating them. The goal is for each dog ot be able to thrive on their own when in the house or out on the town with you. While we do understand and appreciate that many things are easiest to do with them together- putting some special emphasis on activities apart from one another can allow them to grow up to be confident and happy when alone and when together. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out. We do offer virtual consults and would be happy to meet up and help you work on your at-home schedule and program. www.pawsitivefutures.com/contactregister

      Thank you so much for the quick answer! I have ordered two smaller crates and will get them started with them after the crates arrive. I really like your video and will continue watching future videos. If I find myself in a bind, I take you up on that offer. @@Pawsitivefutures

    I love this !! We have a brother & a sister and we're doing things separately & together with them bcz we don't want them to be littermate 🤞🤞🤞 There crate is their safe zone ...My male Pyrenees Loki doesn't like it whenwe go for walks together & then my hubby & I will take a different route home & to teach them its okay not to be around your sister 24/7

    Hey getting corgipoo siblings. I know they are pretty social dogs, do you think I’ll still have to take the steps to avoid littermate siblings?

    • @Pawsitivefutures
      @Pawsitivefutures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes- with any breed of dog raising siblings is hard and requires a lot of extra work to raise each one as an individual. I would sure commend taking the steps recommended in this video and Working virtually or in-person with a certified credentialed trainer right from the beginning!
