The man saved Freeza in the eyes of a lot of Americans. In the Z era, Freeza was the most popular villain in Japan for DB, but not in America. Partly because of his power being surpasssed as the story went on, but also because of his portrayal. But then Chris Ayres and the writing team of Kai gave us a Freeza that was closer to what people in Japan and around the world got with the legendary Ryūsei Nakao. He brought the chilling, condescending, eloquent, and polite tone to Freeza we were missing while also being able to brilliantly show Freeza’s loud wrathful side. He’s still missed to this day. This brilliant actor who played a monstrous villain was also a wonderful and kind man. I really hope he knew how much he was appreciated.

there's no doubt he knew
I don't doubt that was a part of why he was even recording lines from his hospital bed for the Tournament of Power
This guy changed anime forever
Most definitely. His performance changed how Frieza is perceived in dub.
