There's a rules clarification here that absolutely affects my experience in the game...and I don't really know how to approach this since we played the game with the rules as written...turns out they were written wrong....I DO think this would affect my enjoyment of the experience. boardgamegeek.com/thread/3241831/habitat-rules-clarification-designer
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Aqua. Please note: This game will be available February 6, 2024 at your local friendly game stores as well as on our website. 🐬 (This video came out of the ocean a little early! ) 💙
Great review Alex. Totally agree with your comments and recommendations. In a 2-3 player game you could at least add additional tiles to the initial starting stack, giving a few extra turns. It's definitely lighter and quicker than Cascadia.
Thanks for your review. I am looking for a light tile laying (or similar) game that can be played by people with varying game experience and that will support 4 or more players. Do you think 2 games could be combined to support more than 4 players? I know it would slow the game down, but I find people prefer to play a game together rather than separate tables.
My partner and I have one play, and we are both on the fence playing it again. Probably play it a couple more times before it leaves the collection. We have just recently picked azul queens Garden and had 2 plays before playing Aqua. Aqua felt underwhelming, having played azul a week prior. 3/5 for Aqua rn.
We were contemplating adding a bunch more tiles. like you, we felt it was too short for the setup time and thinking required. Part of it is obviously learning the best strategies as well. One game isn't enough. Your review helps allot, though basically how we felt. Thanks great stuff as always

It’s a mix of Cascadia , calico and akropolis .
And i rather play Aqua than any of those 3 might even consider selling my copy of cascadia
