Well, apparently, not everyone. Southern right wing extremists, oil industrialists, his own joint chiefs, the CIA and the Mob all had it in for him. Yes, everyone in the world who wanted peace with the USSR, with Vietnam and the third world supported JFK. Those for whom a clean environment was important and/or wanted an end to poverty internationally and domestically, and and end to wars and nuclear threats loved him. For those who wanted a foreign policy of true diplomacy instead of guns, ships and middles. The administration had it in for Castro, but, in his final year, JFK himself was back channeling Fidel, but it couldn’t look like he was soft on communism- he DID want to be re-elected so he could implement his plans. After the Cuban Crisis, I , as a kid-the grandson of a Roosevelt Democrat-the world seemed to be on the edge of finally blooming w/ positive and endless possibilities. I and many others couldn’t see why we wouldn’t succeed. We had turned the corner and headed down the road to peace and plenty for all.😊 Unfortunately, the corner we turned was Elm Street, Dallas.😢
@@papadopp3870 ALL true and one of these factions had him killed...I meant my world of peacemakers as we will NEVER recover from losing this one of a kind very beautiful human being...
@@lyndatrones1787How true. True but sad. If only human nature were able to turn from hate and greed to love and caring for each other, this planet could evolve into an amazing world. I hope it is possible. I hope with all my heart it can happen. Thanks for your positive comments, Linda. The change must start within each of us individually🙂 and our choices.
An incredibly hot eastern Washington day. Notice all the people in the crowd trying to shade themselves with newspapers. We waited for hours in that blazing sun to see President Kennedy, and then faced the biggest traffic jam the Tri-Cities had ever seen to get out of there.
It is interesting to hear President Kennedy praise nuclear power and the hydroelectric/irrigation projects on the Columbia River. Leaders of his own party would be horrified by this speech today.
Interesting how all his stage followers are wearing the same suit as the President. We need more leaders that really care about the people in spite of their individual failings.
Simply put, a magnificent speech by a superb President expressing prde in his country. Today's Democrat, reading only the text of the speech would scoff and assume the speech was collection of tripe given by Trump.
God bless you, President Kennedy. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our country; the country we both love
The entire planet loved this very fine man. 💗

Seeing a JFK speech always makes me proud to be an American again.

Lol I would take the worst sunburn to hear Kennedy speak
I love that JFK dedicated so many dams and public lands
JFK really cared about the environment
In this 5O-year-old speech, JFK addresses the nation's ever-growing energy needs, mentions solar power and fracking.
President Kennedy was so far ahead of not only America's future but also the global economy & health.

When those nuke plants melt down, BOOM. Look what occurred at Fuckashima.
Perhaps we can return to the stone age, God resides in the Natural World.😍
Leaders of both parties today would be horrified if the sun came up in the East.
Compare this speech…to today…Wow
