  • Can I Restore The Blaupunkt? Well, after a couple of wet dismal autumn afternoons I thought let's see if we can get the old 1957 Blaupunkt Sultan 2320 3D radio back in some sort of working condition. Bit of a long-winded video but I cut even more out! Come along and see how it turns out from a very scruffy filthy wireless set that had sat in a garage for 30-odd years! And then was put in a skip and then at the last minute pulled out of the skip and given to me free. So I don't want to spend too much to see if we can fix this set back to a working radio.

Wow great job. I actually just bought one for $650. Also you should fix the lightbulb on the left side because I noticed that it doesn't come on when you change the station.

That turned out fine, I think the cabinet looks great & I always like my sets to show their age, try using T-cut on your cabinet if you would like a mirror shine!

Hi, Mark thanks for the tip I will try T Cut. I was going to contact you would you like that 1930s McMichael set I got with this set? As I don't really want that and I don't want anything for it if you would like it come back to me and we could see about getting it to you! Thanks as always for your kind comment Kev.

@@BramleyProductions Hi Kev, yes I would love to offer a good home to the McMichael, it would make a great restoration project for the upcoming winter months.
I will contact you via email.

It's a pity that soon LW will be unusable and MW not far behind, only 1 weak BBC MW local station left where I live and 1 Commercial station left, 2 national stations are just sport and talk, VHF sets are a saving grace for us radio collectors, I have a huge Ekco VHF only console set that blows me out of the room when turned up!

Hello, on this set of mine, those knobs are both removed via a tiny grub screw that needs to be loosened with a small flathead screwdriver hence they will slide off the shaft both knobs have a set screw the small inner knob and the bigger outer knob both have a set screw you can see the little cutout on the knobs where the screws are below and that will need to be loosened for them to come off. Kev.
