I am planning to keep trying vitamin C face serum. I have been trying for almost 6 months with ascorbic acid powder from different suppliers and different formulas but always ended with undissolved particles. I ordered some Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and I am looking forward to experiment with these. I also want to try to make face toner with rice ferment filtrates like in SKII product. Yeah lots of things to look forward to. Thanks for giving us tips and advices really love all of your videos and blogs and formations! Happy new year to you 💕💕💕

My goal is to attempt to make more parts of a curly hair routine (leave in, gel, and low-poo). But my resolution is to temper my expectations of perfection from the interaction of products and hair!

Happy New Year Marie! I wanted to thank you again for all of the helpful information you provide in your blog and videos. The projects I created for Christmas turned out beautifully (well for the most part lol) and I’m very proud of them. I learned a lot about what to do and also a lot about what not to do for next time. When I originally began following you, It was for the sole purpose of making Christmas gifts this year but I enjoyed it so much I’ve decided to continue making skincare and bath and body products.
I have already learned so much from watching your videos and thoroughly reading your “DIY for beginners” blog post and I plan to on make more of your formulations in the future including the ones you send via email. All of your information has made me curious about the science of it. I’m extremely interested in understanding the fundamentals of formulating along with gaining an in-depth understanding of how and why to use certain types of ingredients so that some day I can create my own formulations with a solid amount of knowledge.
Do you have any suggestions on where I could find that information? I know you studied at Formula Botanica. Is that the best place for understanding and learning to formulate or do you have any other recommendations? Hoping to find some free resources, but I’m also open to spending some $ if there is something you recommend that comes with a subscription of some sort. So excited to learn more!
Thanks again Marie! Can’t wait to see the formulas you create in 2022! 💥💞

My resolution is to actually physically make stuff. I haven't yet dished out the cash to try anything out, so as a result all of my back burner projects are completely mental/idealistic, absolutely lacking real world experience that isn't vicarious research/speculation from resources such as your blog.
You know how everyone is hopping on trends to home cook more quality yet affordable meals (usually with bulk ingredients) for themselves & their families instead of just trusting pre-formulated "healthy" labels? My thirsty adolescent-scarred skin that's lucky to see hand-me-down drugstore lotion once in a while is the definition of neglect & premature aging, and I'm determined to fatten it up on a from-scratch diet of anti-neglect as if I could afford to shop Sephora.

I don't do New Year's resolutions, but I think I need to include pH testing more regularly and not just assume it'll turn out how it said it would in the recipe, especially when I make changes.

Next week I want so make a face gel based on one of you formulations but with a lot of changes. Now I am looking forward to it, even if it goes wrong.

Marie, do you know any preservatives which don't, well stink😵‍💫 I cannot stand geogard, benzyl alcohol. Having done a few formulation from Formula Botanica, with eco preservative they've recommend, I just couldn't use it😔 all my friends and family where very satisfied with smell of final product, so it must be just me, I do have sensitive sense of smell, which most of times is my curse🙈😅

Hi! I think this is mostly my natural hair colour at this point. The last time I dyed my hair was in October 2020 with Clairol Natural Instincts 5G Medium Golden Brown, which is supposed to wash out in 28 washes. I think I went a bit darker than I was supposed to so it didn't wash out that fast, but October 2020 was a lot of hair washes ago so what you see in this video (especially around the roots) will be my natural hair colour :)
If you see videos from 2020 with quite dark hair that'd be either Clairol Natural Instincts 4W Dark Warm Brown or Clairol Natural Instincts 5 Medium Brown (Hazelnut) 🙂

    Hello
Thanks for your content, i am starting to experiment with skin care products and is a bit challenging and intimidating, so the resources you've shared are very well welcome.
Just a question, as for soap making there is a soap calc for formulating a recipe, is there some tool similar for making lotions or deodorants?
    Greetings from Bolivia 😃🐝🌷

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and welcome!
I'm afraid I can't recommend anything-there are SO many more variables for non-soap products that it would be quite the undertaking and even then a calculated formulation would still just be a starting point. I've heard of a few paid tools, but haven't tried them.

Hi! Would you ever make a oil body wash? Is it just a mix of oils and polysorbate 80, similar to a facial cleansing oil?
Edit: I checked a commercial oil wash and they used Cocamidopropyl Betaine. Maybe that could work too?
