Fun fact from the book Earn and Fahleda know each other for months before they start dating, they date for about 3 years before breaking up and don't see each other for a little over a year
(copied from Patreon) Excellent first episode - in fact, that may the the best first episode of a GL show I have ever seen. Only the premiere of "23.5" is about a good as this, in my view. The only thing that they didn't convey was how long Earn and Lada actually dated, and how long ago that was. I heard that it was about two years of dating and two years since the break-up have passed. but the show never makes this entirely clear. Someone mentioned already that the Thai actors at the restaurant were actually the leads of the Thai film "Yes or No" and it's sequel. That was actually the first directorial effort by Saratswadee Wongsomphet, who also directed "The Secret of Us". The extensive relationship flashback was to die for. Orn and Ling have an effortless chemistry that comes even close to Freen and Becky, and Earn's a little more childish notions perfectly complemented Lada's earnestness. They both boldly jumped into the relationship and never held back till the end. About the only thing I didn't understand is why Earn ate the Banoffee pie when she know she was allergic to bananas. She's should not have risked her health for a little inconvenience and (potentially) disappointing Lada. But as she said: people call her childish. Which brings us to the break-up. While it is easy to say Earn should have simply talked to Lada, Lada's Mon was essentially blackmailing her: "your mom's health or your relationship!", and additionally planting subtle doubts about Lada in Earn's mind - was she really dating Dr. Wisanu? The right move for Earn would nevertheless have been to talk to Lada about Wisanu, and about the blackmail, but she's supposed to be younger than Lada, probably had no prior experience with such an evil parent, and had her Mom to worry about. That doesn't excuse her behaviour - especially claiming she only toyed with Lada and actually liked men was a little much - but I can understand her. This leads to the setup for the rest of the show: they meet again. Lada now a doctor at her parents' hospital, and Earn a new celebrity hired to shoot a commercial for said hospital. Upon first re-meet, One can see that Lada is still angry about and hurt the break-up, whereas Earn looked to be hopeful - at least until Lada refused to take part in the commercial shoot. This left me eagerly waiting for a week for ep.2, so mission accomplished. :-) It's accurate to say that this show pretty much hinges on the background of the break-up - if they would talk in earnest about thne, they at leaast could get back together. And Lada would probably tear her mother a new one. :-) The mother of Earn - who got sick - is actually being played by Jintana Phongphiphat, the actual mother of Orm (who plays Earn), by the way, who is also an actress. P.S.: I forgot the recipe for son-in-law-eggs. There you go: www.seriouseats.com/son-in-law-eggs-khai-luk-khoei-from-simple-thai-food
The P in P’mon, isn’t an indicator of age so much as status as a doctor. She’s calling her “doctor” as a term of endearment. Which is why it gets shortened to “doc” in the the subtitles. I don’t know that we ever actually get their ages in the show.
I have a Fun fact. Orm the actress aka Earn is prone to falling asleep easily, and most of the shots of her asleep are real, and Lingling aka Doc points them out and teases her about it in their reaction videos to the show.
Being totally honest this show was overall a bit disappointing to me. In terms of the story and how they choose to show it, right from this very first episode I high key disliked how they showed Lada and Earn’s entire past together; considering the actually plot is about them meeting again years later it felt like a waste to not use that to create interest by having the viewers wonder about their past together in the present story and build it up.
