A fellow bird-watcher here in New England recommended that app to me this year and it’s been great for identifying spring migrants high in the tree canopy here, like warblers!
Thanks for that tipp. I downloaded it on my tablet and will start to find out, what birds I might have in the garden, apart from those that are obvious (sparrows, Blackbirds and western house martins). This will also help taking part in citizen science. There is "Stunde der Gartenvögel" by the NABU in Germany - counting garden birds and reporting them to the NABU twice each year. There is something simmiliar in the UK - maybe in other countries, too.
That's exciting Martina! We have something similar in Denmark - Naturbasen, where I also try to report different species. I have really found it helpful in leaning the different sounds/songs
