  • Hi TH-camrs ....
    The last time I did a Rig Rundown was is 2011 so this is LONG overdue.
    I switched up my rig rather significantly this last tour and also realized that I'd never done an exhaustive look at the logic (or illogic) behind my choices. Here I got through all my guitars, routing and signal chain, pedals and microphones that make up my Josh Groban Rig as of 2022.
    Feel free to skip through if there's something you are interested in:
    0:00 Introduction
    0:11 Guitar Collection
    7:14 Acoustic Rig
    8:25 Stage Rig
    13:55 Sound Examples
    I love sharing and chatting about this stuff, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions you'd like me to address. Big thank you to Dave 'Rackdoctor' Phillips at LA Sound Design for the wiring and all the great stuff he's done for me over the years. Also, big thanks to Trevor Sellers (my intrepid guitar tech) and to (drum icon) Kaz Rodriguez for videotaping AND editing this video for me.
    Take care, T

    That Klon clone (your Aluminum Falcon?) sounds incredible..more open and dimensional than your higher-gain pedals, especially the way it comes through my laptop speakers...I guess I need to go in my closet and dig out my Aluminum Falcon (using the settings I see on yours, although mine doesn't have the two extra switches and is in a larger rectangular gold box). Anyway, it's amazing to me how you keep so many hats straight...you certainly earn your money. Mr. Groban is lucky to have you...fun stuff.

    Awesome Tariqh!

  • @lightningstrikes7314
    @lightningstrikes7314 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, Amazing axes, tones and overall set up and very well explained Tariqh. The ridged/serrated pick really gets that Edge style attack-great tip, no pun intended. I tend to a Stereo rig rather than wet/dry/wet too as it's so unwieldy and engineers can't deal with it! I do put the reverb through just one side with modulation and delays in stereo, however (AC15), so it's almost a halfway house between stereo and W/D.

    • @tariqhakoni8921
      @tariqhakoni8921  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have actually considered that in one of my more recent rigs (where I run a Tweed and a Deluxe) in stereo

    • @tariqhakoni8921
      @tariqhakoni8921  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course. The Divided by 13 2x12 cabinet is set up as two discreet 1x12's in a 2x12 cabinet I.e you can run one or both of the speakers depending on your rig. I have it set up to come stereo out of the lower amp into the two discreet paths L/R

    • @tariqhakoni8921
      @tariqhakoni8921  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there.... it's a Tyler classic with an ash body and Fralin pickups. The active prepamp is the same one that's in MT's. How come you don't use wireless for electric guitars?

    • @tariqhakoni8921
      @tariqhakoni8921  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there... in general, I've never been in love with Wireless systems. Most of the gigs I do don't require me to 'run around' that much, but if they do, I'll typically have an A/B box on my pedalboard that allows me to still use a hard wire when I'm in front of my rig and then a wireless for those moments I have to be more active
