  • It's June 2024 and we are collecting our next and new motorhome from Don Amott Leisure Kingdom. The last time Andy was here was with his parents around the early 2000's when they were buying caravans. In today's vlog we show you handover and collection from Don Amott.
    The whole buying and collection process with Don Amott has been really good from a saving on the price of the vehicle to a good part exchange (you may recall that I have talked about the variance in part exchange prices at the moment). The handover was complemented by a series of videos sent through in advance of collection.
    We then head home to load all our home from home belongings back in before hitting Ferry Meadows CAMC to reload and set up - so a 150 mile trip to shakedown and set up is in store.
    A full tour is coming soon! Look out for that in an upcoming vlog.

    The Escape range is looking very smart now with many refined and additional features. We have been shocked by the amount of stuff we carry around and it’s something we try to review twice a year when we prepare for the summer and then winter seasons. It’s going to take a few trips to get used to the layout and where things belong in cupboards. Have fun setting up and shaking down the van. Great choice, very nice indeed 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev n Sue

      Thank you. They really have lifted the range. First impressions over night have been positive. Indeed the garage is a boon but we did bring quite a few things back home when we got back to the storage and agree we shall probably find more. Liking the new table and longer lounge - was great for visitors on Saturday! Shall get that full review out soon. Safe travels :) A&J

    P.s. i work in sherburn in elmet for a company that builds buses. We've had some ex swift ( cottingham ) coach builders in the past doing contract work. They've told me things that guarantees il never buy a swift. Even more so an elddis. Someone i know bought an elddis avante 550 caravan ( brand new in 2019 ) within 3 months he actually wanted it stolen and burned out because it was no more than a rain water collecter. I genuinely hope the panel sealing lasts for you. A big and long unit like yours will test it especially over speed bumps and pot holes. Honestly i wish you well with it. Hopefully you didn't pay all of the price in cash. You can stop the payments if trouble begins and a dealer drags their heels!!

      Thanks. The build techniques have certainly improved over at Swift, however I am minded to agree about the Elddis situation as their construction remains very traditional, from the breadth of dissatisfaction out there. We shall update our experiences as we go :)

    I was chatting to a fella on withernsea sea front recently. He was parked in his 24 plate same model. Told me he's not keeping it any longer than 18 months as he was disappointed with the build quality. Said he wouldn't dare live in it. Good luck with yours !

      Well..obviously very early days for us but nothing obvious and we have given everything a good open and close and whack and bang. We have had Swift caravans in the past with no issue. This is our third motorhome and shall see how we get on. Having had a day in the Swift factory they had improved the QA processes which assured us from what we saw. Shame he’s so disappointed.

    It’s not ideal to leave your mains cable wound on the reel when connected to mains supply on site, it can potentially overheat!

    • @thetrackertravels
      @thetrackertravels  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. That is our shorter 10m cable and its fully off - the cable reel is hooked in at the end. Totally agree. Would never leave it fully coiled.

      @@thetrackertravels Sorry to underestimate your knowledge base🤣 , I'm glad you're on it, thanks for your reply. PS: I don't understand why people have to write negative feedback in the comments, they should be encouraging content not ruining dreams !
