If I Can Dream is my favorite Elvis song. Cool to see how even later in his life and during a slower type of song you can still hear those techniques and that unique in his singing. Awesome 👍

The most iconic, influential, popular and beloved figure, and KING of Rock and Roll.....and the greatest entertainer/performer of ALL TIME....with his powerful and versatile voice, the way he could MOVE, his unbelievable good looks, stage presence and charisma.....NO ONE can touch the KING !!!!!!!!!!! ONLY performer to be inducted into FIVE Music Halls of Fame: Country, Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll !!! "How do I describe Elvis ? The greatest that ever was, or ever will be!" - Chuck Berry,...."What is the greatest moment in my career ? That's easy, Elvis recording my song Tomorrow Is A Long Time" - Bob Dylan......"No Elvis=NO ROCK AND ROLL!" - John Lennon, the most famous Elvis fan of all (John's sons Julian and Sean had the honor to induct Elvis into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Love Beth's reviews and reactions, thanks Beth 🥰

You haven't watched enough Elvis videos to say he didn't do much with his voice. However, I agree with your comments. In his later videos you can here a how his voice matures. That is so true there could never be another Elvis because he was so unique. Please do more Elvis. May he RIP.

I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but I've always thought that 3 of his best, "That's All Right", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", and "Milkcow Blues Boogie" were recorded at Sun in 1954 when he was only 19. I still get a kick out of the last one when he stops the song after 4 lines and tells the band "that don't MOVE me...let's get gone!"

Hi Beth another great video, just unfortunate you chose this clip as a vocal reaction, nothing wrong with this fabulous bit of footage, as this was a revolution whiz this first released. Let me explain, Elvis in 1956 was just about to make his first movie but the producer hadn’t seen Elvis on the big screen before and he want to see what he when look like, so they shot this screen test IN COLOUR to see him perform (The first movie was LOVE ME TENDER and was shot in b/w which is why this footage is amazing shot in colour) but unfortunately got you Elvis was told to mime to his own song with a prop guitar with no strings, he dose an amazing job and it’s a great piece of history. 👍

Elvis' "playfulness", and being himself, gave the rest of us a lot of fun, too. There were also other dimensions to his performances, which showed what a truly great singer he was. Check out: If I Can Dream (white suit), American Trilogy, Unchained Melody, Bridge Over Troubled Water. And many wonderful others, for various other moods.

Great analysis. Although he most definitely had a very good voice with Elvis it's all about tone. That's what raises his voice to the level of greatness. So seductive & unique. His sound (like the singer Seal) enters me, wraps me up in a protective cocoon of warmth and then absolutely transports me.

Yes this song doesn’t have a ton of vocal range but if you listen to a bunch of different ones he has a surprisingly wide range from low to high. And yes, his uniqueness is part of the sell. He just lays it out there.

Elvis, the ONLY artist to be inducted into FIVE music halls of fame - Country, Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll....the power and versatility of his voice, the way he could MOVE !!! and to call Elvis unbelievably handsome, would be a gross understatement. Elvis is the most iconic, influential, popular and beloved figure in rock history....."How do I describe Elvis? the greatest that ever was, or ever will be!" - Chuck Berry....."Without Elvis all the rest of us combined, couldn't have made rock and roll" - Buddy Holly...."What is the greatest moment in my career ? Right now on the Ayreon Facebook page there's guess the singer and musicians for the new Star One. I have only gotten 2 singers wrong tbf never listened much to Black Sabbath and mistook Marcela for Noora easy mistake they have a similar vocal range.
Now if you reacted to Ayreon The Day That The World Breaks Down and jumped into the Ayreon Universe you could play along. Arjen did say he has new singers 2 of them being Tony Martin former Black Sabbath and.....Roy Khan.

Of all his early songs an odd choice though fun - a far better choice to show his power and range if want early stuff is a heartbreak Hotel - from very first note - so unique and rather shattering at the time. Blue suede shoes is just a bit of throwaway fluff in comparison. Also Anyway You Want Me or Mystery Train would be better examples.

Here are some of his spiritual songs:
Amazing Graze, How great though art, I found this version of this great song: How great thou art A Capella: th-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/w-d-xo.html You'll never walk alone, Crying in the chapel, Take me home precious lord, Why me Lord (written by Kris Kristofferson), I'm not sure if it's a gospel song Help me and many more, he also made several Christmas songs, also some type of Blues songs.
    .
Here are some ballads and other songs:
Green Green grass of home, Softly as I leave you, Tomorrow never comes, An American Trilogy, I Was The One, Snowbird, Blue Christmas, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words he says in the beginning), Love letters, Devil In Disguise, My Boy, Angel, Don´t, Heartbreak Hotel, Old MacDonald, Crying in the chapel, Moody blue, That's Someone You Never Forget (tribute to his mom Gladys), Please don't stop loving me, Oh happy day, Music is the food of your soul, Don't, You gave me a mountain, Unchained melody, My Way, Suspicious minds, In the Ghetto (written by Mac Davies), Memories (written by Mac Davies), If I can dream that is a tribute (parts of it is taken directly from the I can dream speech by MLK) to Martin Luther King JR and senator Robert Kennedy, What now my love, Walk a mile in my shoes (listen to the words in the beginning), Welcome to my world, Make The World Go Away, I'll Remember You, Let me be there, Bridge Over Troubled Water, It's Now Or Never (O Sole Mio), An American Trilogy, Hurt, Sweet Caroline, Just Pretend, What now my love, Are you lonesome tonight (laughing version, or not), Oh Danny Boy (for you Irish people), a song that many might not know that he sung it is this one, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Blue suede shoes, Hound dog, I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water, My Boy, Solitaire, well remember that he sang over 800 songs, yes most of them Covers, but that made the artists that he covered more popular and they also got some money from it...
Have you heard Elvis and his backup singers A Capella (without instruments) before, otherwise listen and enjoy this one and you will finally find out how GREAT his voice was:
    th-cam.com/video/Be5y0rMBIFI/w-d-xo.html
Some a bit unusual, songs people might have missed:
Stranger in my own town (Blues jamming X rated), Lawdy miss Clawdy, He Touched Me, Let it be me, Blueberry Hill, Turn around Look at me, A mess of blues, Pledging my love
Another video you might want to see is Elvis a Generous heart, or Elvis Presley The king of kindness, th-cam.com/video/GLzGS3qKZbk/w-d-xo.html (Elvis won a Grammy video) !!
There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time!
If you like to listen to tributes, then these might be good:
The Memphis Lallaby (If you love Elvis music and story, this might make you cry) th-cam.com/video/xBZoj1gf_VQ/w-d-xo.html
Love Me Tender (James Brown): th-cam.com/video/zrBk0WErpHU/w-d-xo.html
Walking in Memphis (Marc Cohn): th-cam.com/video/PgRafRp-P-o/w-d-xo.html
The Letter (Wayne Newton) This might even contain Elvis written chorus, I don't know if it was his words, or not: th-cam.com/video/zB2xKw7V46M/w-d-xo.html
    .
I came up with a "fantasy" concert, I could really imagine myself watching and listening to Elvis and these artists:
Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Bob Marley and Elvis Presley (if I could hear Elvis sing some duets with Lisa Marie to).
Would you go and watch them perform if you could, or who would you like to see and hear if you could choose anyone???

It's the right clip, the right song but not the right version. This version dates from 1960 from the movie G.I.Blues and it's a cover. Go see the original from 1956. To really understand Elvis' voice, you have to listen to his gospels (Take My Hand, Precious Lord).

I think you'd have to listen to blue moon (not blue moon of Kentucky) if you are looking for something special.
