I bought three little propagated stems in febuary from ebay. My kitten tipped the pot over and one stem never recovered from that. But as soon as that spring sunlight hit; woah! It's so big now! It looks like I've had it for years and it's only been with me for 5 months! Beautiful plant, easy to care for!
Love this vid! From one Sam to another: can you help? I’m trying to propagate one of these in water but it’s been sat in a filtered water glass with fresh watering every couple days and no roots are coming! The leaves are looking thin but still green… I’ve moved it to a south facing window but it’s been a month now!
HELP! I've rescued a black pagoda, she has roots but, only half a leave. Yes, you read that right, one half of one single leaf, only! Oh, & she has a signle flower bud growing too. Do I snip off that flower bud to encourage more leaf, stem & root growth in the overall plant? Or... do I just leave her the F alone, allow her do her thing & hope that she makes it?? She's under grow lights now & I'm at a loss. Thanks! ❤❤❤❤
I love my lipstick plant. I have had mine for about a year and have never seen a pest 🙂 (knock on wood) I have it outside now and it's getting morning sun, it has taken off like crazy.
Nice! Someone on Instagram did tell me that they lost theirs to thrips, which is good to know, But I have never had any issues. I bet it's loving life outside!
I gifted my bf one a few years ago, still going strong! But has had some yellowing leaves recently and so many gnats!! Trying our best to remove them, but wanted you to know his plant loves the pests 🤣
Haha thank you for letting me know! Great gift btw! If it's fungus gnats, I would suggest letting the soil dry out more between waterings. If the top inch or so of soil is allowed to regularly dry out, it will interrupt their life cycle. Yellow sticky traps are also great for that! The yellow leaves may also be caused by an excess of moisture. Thanks again! 💚🙂
I know this is an older video, but I recently bought a small black pagoda lipstick plant from a local nursery and realized when I got home that it was just a bunch of new cuttings shoved in a pot. Hopefully they are rooting now, but the end of each vine is dried out and hardened off. It doesn’t look like any new growth would come from them. The ends of your vines look green and healthy in the video. Is there a way for me to trim these to encourage new growth, that you’re aware of?
Hi can you please help me? I just ordered a black pagoda and got it in the mail a week ago. It arrived with the leaves very soft, wilted, shriveled and lack of color and some leaves with no color on the bottom of the leaves. Do you have thoughts on this?

Got one as a rescue 5 months ago, filled with aphids. Managed to clear the aphids but all it has not grown at all. All it does is grow flowers 🤷♀️

lovely! mine's losing its color behind the leaves. What could be the problem?
It's most likely not getting enough sunlight. The purple colour is it's natural defense against the sun.
@@mindtheleaves9914 Thanks. I find a new spot for it then :)
@@ravenwings09 no problem! 💚
I feel like mine is losing a lot of leaves what could be the problem
Mine had spidermites when I brought it home, but I sprayed it down with Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew and that got rid of them.
Where are you I need some black pagoda
I live in the Niagara region of southern Ontario, CA. It's pretty easy to find out here.
That’s crazy. I water my pagoda nearly every other day. Mine is a water hog.
No way!!! That blows my mind! Really glad you commented, it's great to have other people's experiences with this plant. 💚
