Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

People never see how hesitant she was at telling Valide in front of Mahidevran. Everyone sees Hurrem as malicious but the truth is she was made that way by a family that continually rejected her love of Suleiman.
I kinda feel sorry for female rulers/queens/empress who are well known and great but made out as ruthless monsters even though they contributed in the society 😔. I kinda remember that Queen Elizabeth 1 was also called a monster/devil just like Hurrem.
The same happened to men, especially now😂😂 Take Henry VIII for example. Some men would even have title such as "Ivar the terrible"

It was kinda frustrating when it comes to female rulers, queen Elizabeth vs Mary Stuart since queen Elizabeth is the Victor they made it look like that Mary Stuart lost but she was kind, caring,smart etc.etc. when in reality she wouldn't be able to survive for long if she were really kind she's probably as ruthless as Elizabeth was but she simply lost. It's the same with Hurrem and Mahidevran they're both ruthless but Hurrem emerge as the Victor for the one who lost they make it look like she's a victim (when in the beginning when Hurrem haven't arrived/won she's more ruthless, she's the reason why other women of the harem haven't had any baby yet aside from the 1st son since she's preventing it by either killing her opponent or having them miscarried.)
Jhona Irish Mendez yeah except hurrem actually caused a lot of intrinsic problems with the Ottoman Empire while Elizabeth made her empire more powerful. Hurrem was such a powerful woman, but unfortunately used her wits for the bad reasons:(

Also, the Sultanate of Women, which Hurrem started, helped keep the empire stable and continuing after the death of Mehmed III (as Hurrem paved the way for women like Handan, Halime, Mahpeyker Kosem, and Turhan Hatice Sultan to take control when the Sultan could not).
In this show, I realized that the most overly dramatic ones aren't the gossiping and conniving sultanas or concubines, but the midwives who pause and take a time to announce pregnancy -- as if they've come up with a better theory to oppose Quantum's Theory. 😂😂😂 My God!! Say it already, woman!

You're letting your basis bleed into things to create something that neither the director or writer would have prompted from the actress here. It's just a laugh. If you want to see more exaggerated to be uncomfortable gestures you can see them primarily in the guidance they clearly gave to Rustem Pasha's actor (and perhaps a little in some of Hurrem's cold, calculating looks).

Exactly! And it annoys me how the Valide Sultan always seems a bit upset whenever Hurrem gets pregnant. Even if the Valide Sultan prefers Mahidevran, ultimately the only important thing is that the Sultan has a new heir. It doesn't matter who the mother is. The only purpose of the harem is to make as many children as possible for the dynasty.

And dont take a soap opera as fact. Hatice also didn't marry Ibrahim btw which I'm sure you think is also true. Ottoman history is difficult to source but since you're not a Turkish historian I'm not going to take your word for it.

In the little scene with the doctor, I think they would also insert fingers inside her (yes) to see some change or I don't know, I'm not sure of that part, but for the other symptoms, they already say a lot. Especially the period and the bigger bubbies part
They definitely inserted fingers inside her since you can see she was lay down in the bed with her legs open. Don't know what the doctors look for when doing it, but it's a way to find out if she's pregnant or not

She was the legal wife of suleyman the magnificent and the first ever haseki sultan. She did what she had to do to protect herself and her children. So there's no comparison between hurrem and mahidevran. P.s pls don't believe everything that they show in the series because it's 60 percent fiction
@Mustö Han you are right in one way. Ayse hafsa was the first woman to be known as a sultan rather than a hatun. But hurrem was the founder of the sultanate of women. She was the first ever haseki sultan. The sultan broke four rules for her. Before hurrem there was a rule one concubine one son but she was the first woman allowed to have more children. And he also legally married her. She also lived with the sultan in the topkapi palace unlike the women before her including hafsa sultan who lived in the old palace. And hurrem was the leader of them all. She may not have been the most powerful sultana but she definitely opened the door for others. And she also stayed in the valide sultan's chamber despite never being one.
