They lectured, they just lectured about different things because it was a different time. Lots of Bionic woman episodes were quite dark and they dealt with things like nuclear war and disarmament.
My favorite all time villains, the FEMBOTS on the Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man . I LOVE all 5 episodes of the FEMBOTS. Great tv back then 👍👍.

Steve Goldman thanks man! I was finally able to post some SMDM clips without them being deleted! I really wanted to compare the Dr. Dolenz Oscar with the Dr. Franklin Oscar.
I know right! Lol I thought the robot(John Saxton)played had more realistic features, but by the time they made the last Fembot/Robot episode on the BW, the special effects looked cheap.
Best ... when Franklin's son rips his face off to reveal a barbie Ken type head with sprouts for hair and a mouth that looks like the lower receiver of a telephone handset
Me as a kid: THESE ARE TERRIFYING Me as an adult: how can such sophisticated humanlike robots have such flimsy face masks? Kudos to the designers of the no-face robot masks, they're still very creepy.

...and then later, these 'special effects' were parodied in the episode "Cowboy Android!" of the show "The Aquabats Super Show!" based on the premise of (the 1970s) "Westworld" as well.
They have the best lineup of classic TV shows like emergency, Charlie's angels, little house on the prairie, the munsters and the six million dollar man.
Didn’t she? I wish they had done more scenes with the Vegas showgirls....but I guess it was hard for Lindsay to do a lot of bionic stunts in that outfit.

That’s is so clever! You were very creative! I would have loved to seen your room back then with the mannequins.
As a kid, I was both petrified and fascinated by the fembots! Television was everything back in the day!
My absolute fave villians from the seventies. Man, TV was so much fun back then. It didn't lecture you it just entertained you.

Loved this growing up in the 70s
The biggest weakness of these robots? not enough glue holding on their face masks.
"Day of the Robot" was the $6M Man episode that I watched, I only caught the tail end, and when his face came off, I ran out of the living room.
Great childhood memories!
These robot villains were the best parts of these series! Good memories!
Yes they were!
I love the "evil" retro computers, too!
@@jackilynpyzocha662 oh yeah like the Alex computer that Jaime fought? Lol.
Alex : “That’s quite an unusual arm….what’s it made of?”
Jaime : “Sugar and spice!”
If I could travel back in time, I'd probably waste my life watching tv again. These shows were great !! ^_^
Amazing that Saxon’s mask looks real!
The special effects were good for their time!
Memories of a much much simpler time....

I miss a time when TV could be this hokey and this mainstream all at once.
jkanclark yes I agree! I do appreciate the real stunts and real props that went into these shows unlike the over the top CGI we see now in SciFi and Action Shows.
Great description that spot on
Is "hokey" an old word for old school people?
BTW, what is "hokey"?
As a kid, when the doctor's son revealed himself to be a fembot also, that scared the daylight out of me
Me too! I was shocked he was a robot too!
Same!
The public was still somewhat unnerved by androids/robots and sentient technology.
Still love too watch the six million dollar man 😊
I ran around the house making Bionics and Fembots sounds fighting my little brother as a kid

The first thing you learn in robot school is that when your robots face mask comes off the robot must make robot beeping noises :-)
That was gold! Those sounds were brilliant back then, it added a lot to the creepiness.
2:55 The plastic face is a really good likeness for that actor, surprisingly good considering this was made nearly 50 years ago!
It was a plaster cast and then detailed
When their faces came off it was SOOO creepy-but in a good way!
