Two things i would want to point out; 1) The seconds markers. Too generic and the design can be better, It seems like the only thing not cohesive on the dial. 2) The seconds red paint on the tip. All dial colours come with the same red paint? If it's the design cue, then ok. But best thing is to paint it same colour like the dial.
No boubt San Martin will be using this case with different dials. I'm personally not a fan of textured dials, so I'd love to see a black lacquer dial, a-la the new O aqua terra. Now that I'd be interested in.

As good as a Zelos for half the price. From a personal point of you I would have preferred it to be a 38mm. Great to see them use a better movement, although not too much wrong with the NH35
Considering making this my first SM and it's mostly because this is the best looking bracelet I've seen from them. Why would anyone care about the reverse articulation? Serious question
@@SecronSeven full articulation can make all the difference in terms of comfort. Compare a Milanese and or a beads of rice to a thick integrated single link and you'll feel it straight away. I can tell straight away by looking at this that it will wear similar to a bangle due to those tight tolerances
@@brianlam9429@brianlam9429 Hmm. Weird that something liek that would matter to someone enough to not purchase it. My santos is awkward when ixset it down and i never once considered that a flaw.
Had my eye on these for some time, fantastic looking watch and a 9000 series miyota! Going to be keeping fingers crossed they’re in the November sale !
I'm gonna wait for the adventurine dial version. Or let's see what bracelet they use on the next version. Tha will be my 5th San Martin, and maybe 6th too depending on the release.
This watch is one step forward for this brand. Not only do they finally use the Miyota 9 series movement. The back story of this watch with that reference to an ancient Chinese ceramic technique also makes sense. Brands like Anordain charge more than 10 times the price for watches with enamelled dials. But I would prefer a bracelet with better articulation and female end links instead.
There's also 10x the amount of work to get one of Anordain's dials compared to a rather run of the mill oil pressed dial. The two are really only comparable by the fact they're both watch dials.
Yes, it’s not Anordain level enamel, but it’s much more than a simple oil pressed dial. (I have the watch). The dial is beautiful and original and leans into Chinese artistic culture for inspiration (1000 year old porcelain finishing). And since the Chinese invented fine porcelain, it gives this dial finishing legitimate heritage with no need to invoke anything from the Swiss or other European design of the dial. This time, San Martin deserves some credit for design and also inspiration. Personally, I’d like a non-fume dial version, but this is still beautiful.
@@AG-99 you're right, it's oil pressed with a basic low-temp enamel coating. I'm just not impressed by a facsimile, when other companies use actual porcelain in their production. It's not like SM made a novel interpretation of the artform, it's a basic job to go "take the design from the glaze, and make it work on a dial." They did it successfully, but it's not rocket surgery. So trying to really pump them up for their design work on the dial falls flat to me. There are plenty of other companies that make nice dials in the same genre. The only notable element is the price point to quality ratio. And in that regard it's certainly fine enough.
@@HorizontalvertigoYes, I agree that a real porcelain dial would beat this hands down, but when buying an Ali Express watch, quality and beauty for price is always a main point, as you note.
If this one comes with an aventurine dial I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Though I must say I'm curious what this dial would look like in a shiny black finishing. Sloping edges on the indexes would be nice as well, for a tad more bling and to set them apart from the SN0129. I love the bracelet and I don't mind the male endlinks (my wrist can handle those). All in all, San Martin are on a roll, their designs are solid and their execution is amazing.
Fantastic watch at a fantastic price. May get one. Not sure if it fits in my collection. Especially love the bracelet. To many manufacturers slap on a boring oyster. One thing though. Not a fan of the clasp. Its to big and chunky for an elegant watch. Give me a half link and a smaller clasp since you need less micro adjusts.
This is running $500 CDN before any discounts, so a little rich for me. I don't believe the Miyota movement adds anything in the way of cost. I recently bought a Benyar (part Pagani) watch for $50 CDN that features the same 9015 movement as this.
Hi Gary can I ask if the dial is slightly more subdued under normal light conditions, under lights it looks a little to bright with a turquoise blue colour but in other shots it’s more Aqua blue with less green in the hue . I know colour questions are relative but I’m not mad on Turquoise but Aqua blue like the Christopher Ward 12 titanium this watch resembles is fine.
I like that they are making watches of their own designs now. I would imagine those bracelet links are going to get scratches from the tight tolerances though.
These do look interesting. I wonder if the dials might be a bit much for my taste, but that blue does look nice to me. I'm definitely down to try a San Martin. I'll want one with Miyota 9000-series (as in this watch) or a PT5000 as I'm kinda done with NH3x movements. I don't disparage those NH (or 4R) movements, but I only have a few mechanical watches & I'm glad to spend a bit more for a "mid-range" movement. In the sale I'll be looking at all of SM's watches that don't have NH movements. I've sold a few lately so I think I can buy 1, but only if something really talks to me. In a previous sale I got a 9-DAO "Engineer" w/ blue dial, and wow that's a beautiful watch. The keyless is a bit clunky -- that's the only criticism I can find with it -- but it's a great timekeeper. I like the watch enough to put in an SW200-1 when the PT5000 needs service. I'll still service the PT5000 as an exercise. I'd love to buy something else _that_ good in this sale, and maybe it's this watch. I've still got a preference for Swiss movements (or clones of them), but those 9000-series are _nice_ aren't they.
@@Seajay2016 the red dial is very toned down. Its more of a fume dial, and the texture is only there under the right angle and light, but it's very nice. I think the orange does the same.

very happy with my red version, super accurate Miyota movement, only caveat, since I have a large wrist, the bracelet is too small for me. If anybody has spare link that they are willing to part with, please contact me!
At the last sale I had one in my basket at £204 with coupons (red dial). Expect same on 11/11. Didn't checkout in the end as I have a microband about to arrive.
Although I can appreciate the finishing (specifically the bracelet brushing) I'm not a fan. It all just feels a bit nondescript, bordering on generic to me.
I was putting my hopes on red dial, but production photos after the renders were... different. Blue is beautiful though! Thank you for the review, Gary!
This looks like it’s a feasibility study like their GS diver from years ago, see what’s possible and then go from there. Or do you think they’ll do more Miyota 9000 watches at those prices? (This isn’t their first 9000 series Miyota btw, SN013 or so, RO homage I believe, and they have this Nautilus annual calendar, maybe that PRX?)
At the end of the day , counts the swiss and japanese brands . If someone wants nice watches for a life time ,should probably choose a micro range swiss brand as steinhart or a midrange seiko & orient star . You will save your money when you need it.
@@taotao23730 how? You'd be lucky to sell a used entry level Swiss or seiko/orient for more than half of its value, because the buyer could just pay a bit more and get new. By buying for much less you don't have to get as much for the Chinese watch, and can be sold. Even piecing it out and listing as a mod base, a watch like this is high enough quality to get you something back and be less of a loss than the entry level swiss piece and midrange Japanese counterpart.
I don't see it, other than they use fancy dials and an unadorned case. The guards are different and the chamferring on the Straum is more pronounced. In the GADA category, it's hard to come up with something too different outside of those previously mentioned properties.

So good, and discount argh! just bought a watch so I have to rein it in.
lol....
I get mine on Monday!🎉
One of the most beautiful dials i ever seen!!
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the AMZWATCH’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Just order this £151 in 11
11 sale, hope it's as good as it looks.
Finally a marked case back. Looks nice, but I wonder if it is too busy dial?
@@Seajay2016 the red dial is very toned down. Its more of a fume dial, and the texture is only there under the right angle and light, but it's very nice. I think the orange does the same.
I was waiting for this one 😃
I hope it didn't dissappoint
Great to see ZAR 😅 Cheers
Just in time for Christmas.
Shame your code doesn’t work, Was on Ali express like a hawk when i heard that on your video! I have the SN0129 and that is a beautiful watch. Will wait to see what this price will be in the November sales as I have ordered (still waiting for it) the new Veneziancio Arsenale in Purple for a knock out £437.16!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi, how did you get the Veneziancio Arsenale for such a great price ?
@@Hemebean it dropped from €800 to €656 then I managed to find a 20% discount code online which worked 😁👍
Brilliant video
very happy with my red version, super accurate Miyota movement, only caveat, since I have a large wrist, the bracelet is too small for me. If anybody has spare link that they are willing to part with, please contact me!
Just thank the lord they fixed the bracelet gap from when they used this type bracelet on the SN0130
Tried to use the code, through the affiliated link but it didn’t work..
So sorry, I’m trying to get this fixed now
At the last sale I had one in my basket at £204 with coupons (red dial).
Not the right design or size for me personally, but knowing SM, they'll release a variant I like eventually.
All the reviewers are getting the blue version, I'd really like to see the orange one.
Not their first watch with 9015. I believe you have reviewed the all silver SN013. And there’s the PRX homage SN023 too.
I know because I have all three of them 😅 But this one is the best if course.
I’m waiting for the inevitable mineral dial options. That case in Red Agate? Sold!
Well its personal preference but as nice as it looks,it wouldn't bey first choice of San Martin.😊
The Miyota mvt. is definitely a step up. Hint to all microbrands.....
I wish they make a purple dial of this model.
almost no gaps usually means a hair puller - did you experience this at all?
No I didn’t, no hair pulling at all…
Beautiful bracelet and polish. Very dull/boring watch case, hands and indieces. Hopefully, a more interesting model comes out in the future.
I'd love a clear case back to show off the movement I'm paying extra for !
What a stunner
It's 440€ on my side in Europe (with taxes), so the price is not so attractive for us
got mine for 200,-€ (final price) delivered to Germany 2 weeks ago. In which part of Europe do they charge more than twice that?
Re: 2:11: This design doesn't feel fully original to me -- it reminds me a lot of a Straum.
I don't see it, other than they use fancy dials and an unadorned case. The guards are different and the chamferring on the Straum is more pronounced. In the GADA category, it's hard to come up with something too different outside of those previously mentioned properties.
I hope they continue to incorporate the 9000 series movement into their future designs.
