This is NOT a video hating on the developers, this video is simply showing other peoples opinions and me giving some suggestions. The update is pretty cool, just a few things that could have been better.
Another reason why people hate the gamemode is because the skeleton zombie's hitbox is extremely big and it's almost impossible to hit them without you getting hit along with the zombie.
Things i dislike: 1. Exploiters everywhere ruining event for others 2. Method for poltergeist is unfair and sucks a lot, but can be too easy with luck (house camp with barrel glove, and hope u dont get bugs) 3. Poltergeist is too annoying and is being used everywhere since many people got it 4. Public servers filled with grinders and auto candy collectors
Personally I haven’t seen any exploiters at all and I’m shocked(maybe luck?) I personally think that they should have made getting into the game mode easier and make the game mode harder. I got the glove using rojo from the mystery box. It was so OP.I do see why there are a bunch of ppl using poltergeist because it is a really good glove and ppl just wanna test it out. There is a lot of candy grinders but what can you expect when you have two weeks to get 2000 candy. Personally I got 2000 candy in a day but yeah. I do see your pains lol😂
Not to mention the event is semi luck based, enemy hitboxes are so bugged it doesn't matter how good you are you'll most likely get it, and if you don't either get a good enough glove to easily kill the enemies or the boss, you just lose, doesn't matter you just lose.
I have a feeling they might extend the event to 3 weeks, so the third week would be in November for a bit until it changes back to the default map, because I think they did that last year's Halloween event
The shortened time of the event from one month to 2 weeks wasnt as bad as I thought. As someone who had no halloween gloves, I was somehow able to get them pretty quickly
I didn’t have necro or poltergiest because I didn’t play last Halloween and with materialize I got 700 candy in 1 day and 300 the next day. I got poltergiest the same day as necro so the update took me 2 days. Let’s assume someone wants to get hallow jack and Larry (including the other gloves). Larry would take 2 days and if you’re lucky you can get hallow jack in 1 day. So that would be min 3 days according to what I said, and let’s say someone doesn’t have enough go time to play, let’s multiply that by 3. 9 days. 2 weeks is more than enough. And if they have less time to play it would be 12 days so there’s lots of time for the update (This is just according to what I did, some people may take less time or more time than me, so there’s still time and the average would be 5 days)
Lol the sb community doesn’t understand that its impossible to make the perfect glove and if the glove is ez to get peoples say “haha skill issue braincells make it better lol” but when ten cooks a hard badge they just say “this is so buggy and impossible 😢😢” like just ENJOY THE UPDATE BRO i honestly find this a very good halloween with a new glove and a very creative way to get it even uf its pretty easy and i am pretty disappointed making the timer 10 minutes instead if 2 or 3 i am still finding this a good halloween so pls stop complaining about updates imagine blox fruits making a new fruit every week sb community be grateful omg
my honest thoughts on the update tbh TLDR: i think they should spend more time making good updates instead of less time making bad updates [read the full thing if you want you dont have to] its just that this update was lacking compared to the previous halloween updates, like there was many delays so people thought it wouldve been a good update but no. there was a ton of bugs [which shouldnt have been there since they delayed to FIX BUGS.] and also the glove you get is just extremely annoying and broken. at LEAST avatar is locked behind a hard badge [which im not going to talk about further since that update got SO much hate because it sucked] but poltergeist? nah, just make it broken as hell with an easy badge LMAO. its kinda sad cause i was really excited for the new glove but what did i log on to see? a short gamemode with bugs and features that dont make it hard, no, but just really annoying. the glove is only fun when you use it yourself, otherwise its just a pain in the ass. literally every server theres a ghost tormenting everyone, which it being only one is rare since usually its multiple. the fact that it makes you walk off the map instead of do something different is actually really sad considering that killstreaks can just be killed easily since the GHOST ISNT EVEN VISIBLE. the glove is broken as hell, your invisible, you can throw things at people like tableflip but weak, and you can force people to walk off the map [which is broken if ur a killstreak since ur fast as hell] AND the way you get it is just..... boring. its not fun. i know other people might disagree but honestly, the zombie gamemode isnt fun. it literally just seems like the null dungeon but halloween themed. and the boss isnt even good. honestly, i can understand the hate, and i know that we should be grateful for the weekly updates since most games dont DO weekly updates but still, i would rather have high quality and balanced updates at the cost of the update time taking more than a week than have low quality broken buggy updates every week. weekly updates save games for a little, but eventually the devs just become sloppy. PSX stayed alive for a little while after announcing weekly updates but then got killed off since they were all basically the same and littered with P2W. sure, slap battles doesnt have P2W but slap battles updates are getting pretty boring and low quality, honestly. i personally think that the guide boss marked the downfall of slap battles update quality. anyway sorry for ranting lmao i didnt think it would be this long 😭😭😭
my personal reasons for why the event sucks, 1: even if you got into the 3 player group some hacker would show up and kick you out and force themselves to take your spot, either that or you die last second due to either betrayal or difficulties with other people attempting to get onto the island 2: no healing, why? 3: by the time you are in slapping range of a zombie it attacks you already, leading to most likely having 5 health when you open the door for the first time when doing it solo 4: the short timeframe we have to obtain the glove, aka 2 weeks is pressuring me to attempt to grind it out and not have actual fun in other roblox games, almost like slap battles is forcing me to give it attention, and i have low motivation to complete this obtainment, but because i can only do it during the rest of october, it puts even more pressure on me edit: please shut up, this is not supposed to be problems everyone has, these are specifically problems that i have, not anyone else, also before you say skill issue, you don’t have any skill in any singular other game most likely and just want to brag that you wasted your time only being good at one game.
I agree with all the other reasons but 2. And 3. Can easily be countered by skill. If you know how to flick properly, zombies don’t become a problem and thus doesn’t need healing
I agrees with the no healing and slapping zombies, i feel like there would be healing, also the time to hit the zombie without taking damage need to be bigger
For the just enjoy the update people here's the reasons why its sucks: 1. The 10 minute timer is just premium payout farm since the devs know that halloween gets the most players and the whole "fight for your spot" thing doesnt work since its always gonna be the same 3 people killing everyone else and the idea of fighting to play the gamemode is BS. 2. when you get teleported to the gamemode you dont have any time to log in properly and need to instatly start moving or the monsters get free hits on you and its bad because someone with a slow computer and not so great phone will take longer to load in. 3. the hitboxes on the monster are very inconsistent sometimes they hit you even if you are like 5 feet away from then and sometimes they dont hit idk what the testers are doing if they even exist and since you cant get health back its just a gamble everytime you go to hit an enemy to progress the round or get money 4. The gamemode is so badly designed in fact that in the later rounds because of the amount of monsters that spawn they just start lagging and can barely move, the boss is also bad since for some reason it targets dead players so if someone dies in a brige just make the boss target them and there you go it falls in the void, also its the worst designer boss and the most boring most in the intire game 5. If you beat the gamode depends on if you or your teammates get rojo and cheeses it for an easy badge or you can get dual and pull and just cant win since at the time you have enought money to buy the glove you are low health from the horrible hitboxes and just cant kill the rest of the monsters and the boss, this rng glove thing is rng dependent if you win or lose the gamemode and if you get unlucky there goes 10 minutes of waiting again 6. Poltergeist sucks since you litteraly have a timer on you much you can use your glove and the body bieng unprotected , bieng slapped returning you back to the body even if the timer didnt end and long cooldowns are enought of draw backs for the ability to be limited use, the click ability isnt that good its only usable because poltergeist is new and peiple dont know about the blue screen thing( wich is another drawback since it make invisibility uselles) and dont know that they need to run away, they also can use glove abilitys to stop the autowalking anyway, its only good if two poltergeist combo it on top of you wich is very unlikely to happen, the e ability is pretty good it gives you a 5 sec cooldown almost undodgble item that has the power of rojo's hollow purple but since you can only use like 3 times without anyone interrupting you, so combine 5 drawbacks, 1 uselles ability, 1 good for and one ofbthe coolest designed gloves and you get a disapointment 7. People should be able to complain about the bugs because they litteraly delayed the update 2 times and still came out like this " oh just wait and they'l fix" IT SHOULD HAVE ALREDY BEEN FIXED BEFORE IT REALESED. 8. They didnt work hard on the update they spent all they time making the effects on poltergeist and ran out of time on everything else and this atrocity of an update came out even after the trash that was bind since it was just a reskin from the roots glove ( forgot the name) its the same thing you get it with alchemist, and long ranged attack that traps players WOW so original ( also why does every glove require alchemist now?) Final toughts: Was the update good? nah
Poltergeist is most annoying glove from halloween, because poltergeist users just chase you and spam jumpscare ability until you die and it's impossible to counter
Just a little fact: the zombies have a little glitched hitbox (mostly the normal zombie and the skeleton) bc u cant even slap them without loosing a bit of hp, that made the glove hard to some people in the event
Honestly, this was somehow worse than what I was expecting. The Round 8 glitch, the glitch where you don’t get points for killing zombies with your glove’s ability, stuff like that.
my only problem is the fact that they reused the candy corn thing, it’s very annoying to get 2000 candy corn, (those of you who had a lot from last time don’t count) new players have to collect 2000 candy corn and it takes days, some people don’t have every day to run around the map trying to get candy corn while speed runs, hackers, and materialize take all the candy.
they actually start getting PTSD lmao but on a real note they need to fix this, it makes the gamemode way easier than it already is which sucks since poltergeist is so broken and annoying and op and all u need to do to get it is just do an easy ass gamemode
I hope Tencell keeps the Zombie Arena gamemode, and give a different glove for it. Also maybe the portal for it could by next to the no one shots because there is more space for a portal.
To be honest , the main reasons why this update is just bad is trash hitboxes (same with guide bossfight ) , and poltergeist being absolutely overpowered and impossible to counter.
this is literally fax, poltergeist is so god damn annoying with how easy it is to get and its only fun when your using it, and not even mentioning the fact you can JUMP INTO THE FUCKING VOID AND BE IMMORTAL WHICH MEANS NOBODY CAN UNGHOST YOU UNLESS THEY SACRIFICE THEMSELVES WHICH IS STUPID
Materialize completely counters. You can tp to their body and slap them, and they can't do anything. You can use ability while scared, and u stop moving, and dodge the throw. Most ranged gloves like slicer also hit the body. It's very easy to counter you just suck
Even though I didn’t get it first try, I still got it the day it came out. Also, most of the problems people have can just be fixed by waiting until the event is over when there’s less poltergeist users.
Sizzle I’m a big fan:D my fav yter rn also I got all of the Halloween gloves this year I waited three weeks, but it was really worth it and fun rattlebones is my favorite because of how funny it is and there’s so many glitches with it
Another thing I really hate about the island is that it encourages teaming instead of competitivity. If they made it so that each players have their own island it would be much better as it would solve most of the teaming problems it has.
I literally don’t play Slap battles anymore just because the majority of badge gloves are so extremely tedious to get is just not fun… am not talking about gloves like Rob., but gloves like kraken or 1000 lego bricks for a glove or sleep hours in a public server etccc
If im honest, the gamode is absolute BUTT CHEEKS, i got softlocked, FOUR. TIMES. IN. A. ROW. Wich is extremely ragequit moment, my last try i won, and the Poltergeist glove was PEAK, the glove is fun, and i can troll a lot of people with it, 10 glove overall. The event gamemode is 2/10. About the update, a solid 5/10(the game literally hates me😭).
Here are my biggest problems with the new event: 1. Why do we have to wait 10 mins to get to the island. This was 100% added cuz premium payouts exist 2. Why just 3 people can enter? It could have been 4 3. The zombies range is just downright unfair 4. The mystery box system is very RNG based. You can either get a extremely OP glove that just makes the game mode 10 times easier or you get something horrible. 5. The final boss is just disappointing. It’s just a big zombie that goes faster. 6. The zombie AI is kinda broken sometimes. Like for instance, there was one time where the final boss just stayed in front of the house window and just stopped following me, which basically soft locked me since I was not only the only one left, but I was also low on health. 7. There are so many cheeses you can do in the game mode. Tbh, if feels like the devs either barely play tested the game or had to rush the update in time (or both). Although I do have to agree the glove is pretty fun to use
Why do people hate this update? They should be grateful it was even added because otherwise those kind of people wouldn’t be able to get other hands like hollow jack and rattle bones.
The only thing I could really say is at least it's not another candy grind, but the hitboxes of enimies can be inconsistent. And if you're low on health and spin your points, you have to hope you get a good hand like Woah, Barrel or Rojo, otherwise you're screwed if your other two teammates die.
tbh I like the update A LOT like the new glove is so cool and unique that you can use in many ways and it’s easy to get (In my opinion) so I don’t know why people are hating on it
i love how santa gets brutal nerf but rattlebones doesnt ☠ the brutal treatment and you need ALCHEMIST almost for everything unlike christmas event you get separate gloves for different badges
I got the bagde but my opinion has not changed. I got this badge with tryhard on "dead" server I did nothing to get glove. They could add 2 or even 3 isladns instead of 1 (do diff parkour: pumpkins, tombstones and skulls) or do 180 seconds not 600! It's impossible to get the badge fair, everyone do it on dead servers with hackers or tryhards.
For me, the event is a nightmare, I'll tell every reason i can think of ⚠WARNING:IT IS KIND OF LONG⚠ 1. Today, i went to a server where there was that one type of exploiter ruining every slap battles halloween events by collecting every candies as soon as they spawn on the map(it's kind of like materialize without any cooldown) 2. There's lot of killstreak users that tries to kill you because they want hallow jack 3. Even if i use materialize, there's not ONE server without one 4. Poltergeist glove is a glove i hate, there's not any server without someone using it and it is too op, it literally takes control of someone else and it makes it impossible for that person to go towards a candy 5. Even when using materialize, there's ALWAYS one that is FASTER than me 6. EVERYTIME i try joining a small server, THERE'S LIKE 20 MILLIONS PEOPLE THAT JOIN IT AT THE SAME TIME 7. IN 2023, I GOT THE LARRY GLOVE WHEN IT WAS LIKE THE END OF THE EVENT OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS SO THAT MEANS I WON'T GET NECROMANCER THIS HALLOWEEN, THAT WOULD SURPRISE ME edit:people really need to learn that I'm not mad because they're playing the game, there was a reply saying i was mad because they were playing the game, idc about losing my heart because i edited my comment, i prefer losing my heart than getting a lot of hate
all of these things should be expected for the event, but the hacker is annoying, and if you can't get necromancer in time already starting at 1000 candy, its either you don't have enough time to play, which i totally respect, or you just aren't spending your time on it, which I also respect, but if it is the 2nd one you can't be complaining
Honastly, I had not thought that people were hating on it until I saw this video, I personally love the Halloween event every year, (Yes it is a bit bias because I started during the Halloween agent like 3 years ago, but whatever) I think that poltergeist is really cool me and my friends where pradincting what it was ganna be, and I got it right :D Maybe because I was able to get the glove really quickly, but I have seen A LOT of people raging at it Honastly I don’t think it was that bad Maybe part of the reason is that there are a lot of new players this year and they don’t think they have enough time to grind candy corns I got necromancer last year so I really only needed the new one, overall I really like it though. I do think last year was better though
Are they though? Having their regularly scheduled holiday event be delayed by several weeks compared to usual and then some MORE only for the "new game mode" to be a buggy and glitch mess, I think they have a perfect right to be angry.
nah bro its leagues above druid, that thing can kill killstreaks because it doesnt nerf your speed to make it fair whenever you walk off 😭😭😭😭 [and the stupid ghost is invisible which makes it even more broken] i personally think that they should either nerf the glove like crazy or just buff the zombie gamemode cause its so easy for such an op glove
For those who are struggling with poltergeist: 1. Get ontop of the tree on the new island. This gives you lower chance of being targetted. 2. Jump and slap the zombies. This makes it so the zombies dont attack you sometimes. 3. At the bridge, attack them sideways. This makes it so you get kills way more easier. 4. Once you have enough points to get mystery box, get it. 5. Repeat 3. and 4. if you dont have good gloves. 6. Once it’s round 10, someone will lure the zombie boss and someone will attack the zombie boss.
10 minute waiit time is too long and it's very hard to join due to others taking your spot or your teamates. They could have at least nerfed it to 5 minutes. Zombies have hitboxes that are too big making them semi impossible to hit without being hit. Not the worst slap battles update but definitely somewhere up there.
I do think that the boss zombie needs a rebalance like Changes: Boss zombie is slower but deals more damage. Boss zombie has abilities Boss zombie has more weaknesses and can get inside the house. More health. Abilities: ground slam, melee (dodgeable now), summon normal zombies + rage mode. passive healing is also activated for the players (+5 healing every 12 secs)
When someone said “we need 1 more person” I said I want help and they DONT trust me if I don’t attack and they said “who invited this guy” they were so toxic that I had to server hunt and took a long time that I went to sleep and then next day I found a server that was trustworthy enough so i saved the players until it started and i finally got the glove
i usually vouch for tencell but dude with this i cant. he had extra time for bug fixing (weeks and a extra hour) and it still was a buggy mess. he cant make the perfect glove. thats true. but we want a GOOD one.
I only got softlcoked once (and that was like right after the update released, so I don't know if I was just lucky or people are complaining about it happening once or twice
facts, and funny thing is uhm, this is my FIRST TIME doing Halloween event in Slap Battles, and i started 0, then got 2K in 2 day, yesterday and today....
i think I’ve made 6 attempts where I got to the end of the timer on the island so far, in most of them someone jumped in when it hit one second and stole my spot lol
and it’s kinda hard for new players to get rattle bones and necromancer because obviously there gonna be 0/2000 so then if the new player wants these gloves they will basically grind and need to not have a life and try to get them before the event ends (i got both but it took be 3 days of grinding and i chose to grind because of school reasons)
Honestly we should get more badges like bind, badges that are fun and somewhat take skill. I know I'm kinda glazing but genuinely bind was the most fun badge I have played in a while
To be honest, i think the event is pretty okay. The new mode is pretty cool and while it is glitchy, it can be fixed and maybe slightly nerfed next update (barrel prob will get a nerf since its so op in the new gamemode) The portal is pretty annoying to get to unless your skilled, my recommendation is to hide on top of the tree. My least favorite part of the ENTIRE EVENT is the glove altogether; It's hard to get, you get harassed by people who got it quick a lot of the times, the glove is annoying to fight, and getting into the event is the WORST PART.
The only annoying things in this event are: 1. It's 2 weeks instead of the longer old events. 2. The way you get the glove is glitched and quite annoying. Apart from that the event is actually a very good event :)
The fact i got all the Halloween gloves in 3 days despite playing the Halloween event for the first time makes me really not care about what the community says about it. Btw for the people who suck at zombie mode here is some solutions: Phantom slapping (slapping before actually hitting someone/something) Jumping: this was useless in guide but if you jump and then go towards the zombie along with phantom slapping you could slap it without taking damage (if you arent close enough to it's hitbox) Regular techs: you could also use the tech where you jump behind the zombie/skeleton and slap them off and if timed perfectly you wont take damage.
This is literally the best Halloween event. It gives you just enough time to get the gloves. The new glove is actually really fun to use. (though some may say too many people have it.) (MOST) bugs enhance the gameplay by adding a new way to play and a way to find new "glove combos". (I might be wrong about this) but I heard of another Halloween glove being added this Friday.
If they decrease the cooldown for the entre, they should then also nerf the glove to the ground since the glove is pretty simple to get if there are no glitches. The glove is broken but also so many got it in day AND there are so few counters agianst it, it kinda reminds me of avatar and santa in it's prime/meta.
The all out brawl to get a spot to get into the zombies mode is perfectly needed because the mode itself is too easy for more than half of the community and its still a fighting game people, not epic minigames
man I at least thought the update was gonna be awesome, I mean they removed 2 weeks from the event, so they have to do something better...yeah, that didn't happen. Btw I am really curious if this game is gonna last that long for another halloween lol
Guys there is a strat that can use rojo and then somoene else standing on a light post so you can shoot them while the zombies are attracted to the guy on the light post but also barrel or woah is good for solos
Honestly, I really liked the event. Only things I didn’t like that you had to wait 10 minutes to get into a game though, and the bugs on release were annoying, especially the one where round 9 would soft lock. But honestly, ignoring the bugs, the new mode was fun. Also the hitboxes were annoying at first but were pretty easy to get the hang of. Plus, poltergeist is the best Halloween glove we’ve gotten so far imo, because it’s fun to use and it’s powerful. Also, if I had to rank this update compared to the other Halloween updates, I’d rank it second best, because Halloween 2022 was really fun.
Its too fricking hard tho. Like i mean when i tryed the glove everyone kills me during the obby. And the gamemode literally is impossible. The hitboxes on the zombies and skeletons are really annoying (edit i got it yay)
I mean... I just waited until most people had the new glove, waited for 3 days, then immediately got the 4th day thanks to less competition. IDK probably only less competition in the server I was in.
What i don't like about the glove requirement Groups of friends camping the island (i was there first and these people kicked me out. Friends leaving if their other friends don't get tp Exploiters the 10 minutes countdown make it atleast 5 minutes. The zombie hitbox. The gamemode could have worked if it was like scythe and druid requirement but multiplayer and way harder.
poltergeist can be annoying to get but in my opinion its pretty good guard your sleepy body with throwing objects and haunt them into the void bad thing is its very trolly and can be annoying
tip combo zombie boss: you need use woah and barrel is very good. Woah glove: can counter zombie boss will be stuck in 4-3 sec. Barrel glove: can damage with ability a zombie boss if i'm wrong tell me.
My problem with this event is that it’s TOO easy every server I go into there is at least 3 poltergeist users. I personally think this event is great but they should have made it so the person that does the most zombie damage OR kills the most zombies gets the badge because every time I play this event what kept happening is that these people would hide and let ME do all of the work and they would STILL get the glove which I think is stupid.
That zombie that soft locks into the ground happened to me and I thought the devs where trolling me for some reason but no of course it was annoying I couldn't get poltergeist but I got it eventually on a different run.
Yeah guess i'm quitting trying to get poltergeist due to the difficulty, "skill issue", yes i have skill issues and i'm also mobile, what could i do other than just try and fail all of the attempts?
tbh ive never struggled with any sb halloween or christmas event even my 3 friends got poltergeist the first day and i have never hated on a sb update since i love this game and its my favorite roblox game.
Well technically the glove has some good effort on it but i think it's a bit too op, it'll be better if they add like silhouette whenever the ghost get too close to the player or maybe make the first skill (jumpscare skill) more smaller
People are complaining on how to get to the new game mode, but if you think about it, it’s actually good practice to get the glove. If you can’t slap people off, how do you expect to get it?
Atleast we got something🤷 and tbf i was really sastified with this update. Theres 4 gloves now and they're unobtainable until next halloween. The glove was well designed. I could argue that the obtaiment was pretty bad but at least it was easy. Unlike the santa glove.
@@musicgraze Yeah I don't mind the glove's addition (plus the ones from previous years), but to delay the update by two weeks (giving players less time to actually do the event btw), only for the event to be "camp an island for ten minutes simulator" and the zombie mode was broken at wave 8, and still feels pretty lackluster and the hitboxes suck. My point is: You would think the devs would playtest the update before releasing it, especially with a two week delay, but besides the glove itself, the update feels like a rushed homework assignment done the night before it's due.

For the ammount of time they spent making this event you wouldve tought they at least would make zombies not target dead players also the enemies have a huge hitbox wich makes it really hard to not trade hit but guess what? 1 range glove and no problem! What? You got a passive glove? Too bad! Gotta get 1k points again! Its just way too rng and too many ways to cheese it They should really make early waves easier and later waves WAY harder. Also 3 is just a really odd number at that point just make it 4
Here's what i think why people don't like the update: 1. School (kinda) update] The update released on october, meaning a month where it has school. 2. Addiction to get the new glove quickly] Grinding every night is gonna cause an addiction to actually get it. (the new glove is hard to get lol, people don't help on the waves) 3. Poltergeist] Poltergeist is a VERY annoying glove, making things spawn and kill you instantly (as you spawn) / spamming the ability (becoming the ghost and jumpscaring people. (like speedrunners or sparky who are trying to get the candies) 4. Hacking] Apparently there are people who are making scripts for badges/ boss fights / waves. (for instance, the W.D Gaster script). Ps: i actually used this scripts to help people for Retro and Poltergeist only (and deleted instantly cuz i didn't want my alt to get banned) 5. 2 weeks until the update goes away] Of course people are mad at this, the update is lasting 2 weeks and not until October finishes. Honestly, it's better like that because alot of people are gonna get the Halloween gloves before it ends. (making it unfair to new players who join the game) 6. Another reason why people hate the gamemode is because the skeleton zombie's hitbox is extremely big and it's almost impossible to hit them without you getting hit along with the zombie.

Personally I haven’t seen any exploiters at all and I’m shocked(maybe luck?) I personally think that they should have made getting into the game mode easier and make the game mode harder. I got the glove using rojo from the mystery box. It was so OP.I do see why there are a bunch of ppl using poltergeist because it is a really good glove and ppl just wanna test it out. There is a lot of candy grinders but what can you expect when you have two weeks to get 2000 candy. Personally I got 2000 candy in a day but yeah. I do see your pains lol😂

Not to mention the event is semi luck based, enemy hitboxes are so bugged it doesn't matter how good you are you'll most likely get it, and if you don't either get a good enough glove to easily kill the enemies or the boss, you just lose, doesn't matter you just lose.

I didn’t have necro or poltergiest because I didn’t play last Halloween and with materialize I got 700 candy in 1 day and 300 the next day. I got poltergiest the same day as necro so the update took me 2 days. Let’s assume someone wants to get hallow jack and Larry (including the other gloves). Larry would take 2 days and if you’re lucky you can get hallow jack in 1 day. So that would be min 3 days according to what I said, and let’s say someone doesn’t have enough go time to play, let’s multiply that by 3. 9 days. 2 weeks is more than enough. And if they have less time to play it would be 12 days so there’s lots of time for the update (This is just according to what I did, some people may take less time or more time than me, so there’s still time and the average would be 5 days)

TLDR: i think they should spend more time making good updates instead of less time making bad updates

its just that this update was lacking compared to the previous halloween updates, like there was many delays so people thought it wouldve been a good update but no. there was a ton of bugs [which shouldnt have been there since they delayed to FIX BUGS.] and also the glove you get is just extremely annoying and broken. at LEAST avatar is locked behind a hard badge [which im not going to talk about further since that update got SO much hate because it sucked] but poltergeist? nah, just make it broken as hell with an easy badge LMAO. its kinda sad cause i was really excited for the new glove but what did i log on to see? a short gamemode with bugs and features that dont make it hard, no, but just really annoying. the glove is only fun when you use it yourself, otherwise its just a pain in the ass. literally every server theres a ghost tormenting everyone, which it being only one is rare since usually its multiple. the fact that it makes you walk off the map instead of do something different is actually really sad considering that killstreaks can just be killed easily since the GHOST ISNT EVEN VISIBLE. the glove is broken as hell, your invisible, you can throw things at people like tableflip but weak, and you can force people to walk off the map [which is broken if ur a killstreak since ur fast as hell] AND the way you get it is just..... boring. its not fun. i know other people might disagree but honestly, the zombie gamemode isnt fun. it literally just seems like the null dungeon but halloween themed. and the boss isnt even good. honestly, i can understand the hate, and i know that we should be grateful for the weekly updates since most games dont DO weekly updates but still, i would rather have high quality and balanced updates at the cost of the update time taking more than a week than have low quality broken buggy updates every week. weekly updates save games for a little, but eventually the devs just become sloppy. my personal reasons for why the event sucks,
1: even if you got into the 3 player group some hacker would show up and kick you out and force themselves to take your spot, either that or you die last second due to either betrayal or difficulties with other people attempting to get onto the island
2: no healing, why?
3: by the time you are in slapping range of a zombie it attacks you already, leading to most likely having 5 health when you open the door for the first time when doing it solo
4: the short timeframe we have to obtain the glove, aka 2 weeks is pressuring me to attempt to grind it out and not have actual fun in other roblox games, almost like slap battles is forcing me to give it attention, and i have low motivation to complete this obtainment, but because i can only do it during the rest of october, it puts even more pressure on me

For the just enjoy the update people here's the reasons why its sucks:
1. The 10 minute timer is just premium payout farm since the devs know that halloween gets the most players and the whole "fight for your spot" thing doesnt work since its always gonna be the same 3 people killing everyone else and the idea of fighting to play the gamemode is BS.
2. when you get teleported to the gamemode you dont have any time to log in properly and need to instatly start moving or the monsters get free hits on you and its bad because someone with a slow computer and not so great phone will take longer to load in.
3. the hitboxes on the monster are very inconsistent sometimes they hit you even if you are like 5 feet away from then and sometimes they dont hit idk what the testers are doing if they even exist and since you cant get health back its just a gamble everytime you go to hit an enemy to progress the round or get money
4. The gamemode is so badly designed in fact that in the later rounds because of the amount of monsters that spawn they just start lagging and can barely move, the boss is also bad since for some reason it targets dead players so if someone dies in a brige just make the boss target them and there you go it falls in the void, also its the worst designer boss and the most boring most in the intire game
5. If you beat the gamode depends on if you or your teammates get rojo and cheeses it for an easy badge or you can get dual and pull and just cant win since at the time you have enought money to buy the glove you are low health from the horrible hitboxes and just cant kill the rest of the monsters and the boss, this rng glove thing is rng dependent if you win or lose the gamemode and if you get unlucky there goes 10 minutes of waiting again
6. Poltergeist sucks since you litteraly have a timer on you much you can use your glove and the body bieng unprotected , bieng slapped returning you back to the body even if the timer didnt end and long cooldowns are enought of draw backs for the ability to be limited use, the click ability isnt that good its only usable because poltergeist is new and peiple dont know about the blue screen thing( wich is another drawback since it make invisibility uselles) and dont know that they need to run away, they also can use glove abilitys to stop the autowalking anyway, its only good if two poltergeist combo it on top of you wich is very unlikely to happen, the e ability is pretty good it gives you a 5 sec cooldown almost undodgble item that has the power of rojo's hollow purple but since you can only use like 3 times without anyone interrupting you, so combine 5 drawbacks, 1 uselles ability, 1 good for and one ofbthe coolest designed gloves and you get a disapointment
7. People should be able to complain about the bugs because they litteraly delayed the update 2 times and still came out like this " oh just wait and they'l fix" IT SHOULD HAVE ALREDY BEEN FIXED BEFORE IT REALESED.
8. They didnt work hard on the update they spent all they time making the effects on poltergeist and ran out of time on everything else and this atrocity of an update came out even after the trash that was bind since it was just a reskin from the roots glove ( forgot the name) its the same thing you get it with alchemist, and long ranged attack that traps players WOW so original ( also why does every glove require alchemist now?)
Final toughts: Was the update good? nah

Materialize completely counters. You can tp to their body and slap them, and they can't do anything. You can use ability while scared, and u stop moving, and dodge the throw. Most ranged gloves like slicer also hit the body. It's very easy to counter you just suck

I literally don’t play Slap battles anymore just because the majority of badge gloves are so extremely tedious to get is just not fun… am not talking about gloves like Rob., but gloves like kraken or 1000 lego bricks for a glove or sleep hours in a public server etccc
If im honest, the gamode is absolute BUTT CHEEKS, i got softlocked, FOUR. TIMES. IN. A. ROW. Wich is extremely ragequit moment, my last try i won, and the Poltergeist glove was PEAK, the glove is fun, and i can troll a lot of people with it, 10 glove overall. The event gamemode is 2/10. About the update, a solid 5/10(the game literally hates me😭).
Here are my biggest problems with the new event:
1. Why do we have to wait 10 mins to get to the island. This was 100% added cuz premium payouts exist
2. Why just 3 people can enter? It could have been 4
3. The zombies range is just downright unfair
4. The mystery box system is very RNG based. You can either get a extremely OP glove that just makes the game mode 10 times easier or you get something horrible.
5. The final boss is just disappointing. It’s just a big zombie that goes faster.
6. The zombie AI is kinda broken sometimes. Like for instance, there was one time where the final boss just stayed in front of the house window and just stopped following me, which basically soft locked me since I was not only the only one left, but I was also low on health.
7. There are so many cheeses you can do in the game mode.
Tbh, if feels like the devs either barely play tested the game or had to rush the update in time (or both). Although I do have to agree the glove is pretty fun to use

I got the bagde but my opinion has not changed. I got this badge with tryhard on "dead" server I did nothing to get glove.
They could add 2 or even 3 isladns instead of 1 (do diff parkour: pumpkins, tombstones and skulls) or do 180 seconds not 600!
It's impossible to get the badge fair, everyone do it on dead servers with hackers or tryhards.

I usually speedrun all badge gloves and speedruning that glove was a nightmare of the glitches
For those who are struggling with poltergeist:
1. Get ontop of the tree on the new island. This gives you lower chance of being targetted.
2. Jump and slap the zombies. This makes it so the zombies dont attack you sometimes.
3. At the bridge, attack them sideways. This makes it so you get kills way more easier.
4. Once you have enough points to get mystery box, get it.
5. Repeat 3. and 4. if you dont have good gloves.
6. Once it’s round 10, someone will lure the zombie boss and someone will attack the zombie boss.
10 minute waiit time is too long and it's very hard to join due to others taking your spot or your teamates. They could have at least nerfed it to 5 minutes.
Zombies have hitboxes that are too big making them semi impossible to hit without being hit.
Not the worst slap battles update but definitely somewhere up there.
I do think that the boss zombie needs a rebalance like
Changes: Boss zombie is slower but deals more damage.
Boss zombie has abilities
Boss zombie has more weaknesses and can get inside the house.
More health.
Abilities: ground slam, melee (dodgeable now), summon normal zombies + rage mode.
passive healing is also activated for the players (+5 healing every 12 secs)
When someone said “we need 1 more person” I said I want help and they DONT trust me if I don’t attack and they said “who invited this guy” they were so toxic that I had to server hunt and took a long time that I went to sleep and then next day I found a server that was trustworthy enough so i saved the players until it started and i finally got the glove
i usually vouch for tencell but dude with this i cant. he had extra time for bug fixing (weeks and a extra hour) and it still was a buggy mess.

facts, and funny thing is uhm, this is my FIRST TIME doing Halloween event in Slap Battles, and i started 0, then got 2K in 2 day, yesterday and today....
i think I’ve made 6 attempts where I got to the end of the timer on the island so far, in most of them someone jumped in when it hit one second and stole my spot lol
and it’s kinda hard for new players to get rattle bones and necromancer because obviously there gonna be 0/2000 so then if the new player wants these gloves they will basically grind and need to not have a life and try to get them before the event ends (i got both but it took be 3 days of grinding and i chose to grind because of school reasons)
Honestly we should get more badges like bind, badges that are fun and somewhat take skill. I know I'm kinda glazing but genuinely bind was the most fun badge I have played in a while
There's also candy hackers which steal all the candy which makes it probably impossible to get some glove

You can get hit while you are doing the rojo cutscene, which is really annoying
As a player of SB, I basically managed to beat the round, but I feel like the sb community misunderstood the game. How hard it is.
My least favorite part of the ENTIRE EVENT is the glove altogether; It's hard to get, you get harassed by people who got it quick a lot of the times, the glove is annoying to fight, and getting into the event is the WORST PART.
The only annoying things in this event are: 1. It's 2 weeks instead of the longer old events. 2. The way you get the glove is glitched and quite annoying.
Apart from that the event is actually a very good event :)

The fact i got all the Halloween gloves in 3 days despite playing the Halloween event for the first time makes me really not care about what the community says about it.
Btw for the people who suck at zombie mode here is some solutions:
Phantom slapping (slapping before actually hitting someone/something)
Jumping: this was useless in guide but if you jump and then go towards the zombie along with phantom slapping you could slap it without taking damage (if you arent close enough to it's hitbox)
Regular techs: you could also use the tech where you jump behind the zombie/skeleton and slap them off and if timed perfectly you wont take damage.
This is literally the best Halloween event.
It gives you just enough time to get the gloves.
The new glove is actually really fun to use. (though some may say too many people have it.)
(MOST) bugs enhance the gameplay by adding a new way to play and a way to find new "glove combos".
(I might be wrong about this) but I heard of another Halloween glove being added this Friday.
fun fact: go into a small server with your friends for polter, everyone else will just grind candy corns
the only thing bad is the fact that tencel expects us to get the hardest gloves in one week
If they decrease the cooldown for the entre, they should then also nerf the glove to the ground since the glove is pretty simple to get if there are no glitches. The glove is broken but also so many got it in day AND there are so few counters agianst it, it kinda reminds me of avatar and santa in it's prime/meta.
Guide was harder so everyone complained so then Ten cell just nerfed it and glitches happened

The all out brawl to get a spot to get into the zombies mode is perfectly needed because the mode itself is too easy for more than half of the community and its still a fighting game people, not epic minigames
man I at least thought the update was gonna be awesome, I mean they removed 2 weeks from the event, so they have to do something better...yeah, that didn't happen.
Btw I am really curious if this game is gonna last that long for another halloween lol
Guys there is a strat that can use rojo and then somoene else standing on a light post so you can shoot them while the zombies are attracted to the guy on the light post but also barrel or woah is good for solos
Honestly, I really liked the event. Only things I didn’t like that you had to wait 10 minutes to get into a game though, and the bugs on release were annoying, especially the one where round 9 would soft lock. But honestly, ignoring the bugs, the new mode was fun. Also the hitboxes were annoying at first but were pretty easy to get the hang of. Plus, poltergeist is the best Halloween glove we’ve gotten so far imo, because it’s fun to use and it’s powerful. Also, if I had to rank this update compared to the other Halloween updates, I’d rank it second best, because Halloween 2022 was really fun.
Its too fricking hard tho. Like i mean when i tryed the glove everyone kills me during the obby. And the gamemode literally is impossible. The hitboxes on the zombies and skeletons are really annoying (edit i got it yay)

I mean... I just waited until most people had the new glove, waited for 3 days, then immediately got the 4th day thanks to less competition. IDK probably only less competition in the server I was in.
What i don't like about the glove requirement
Groups of friends camping the island (i was there first and these people kicked me out.

the 10 minutes countdown make it atleast 5 minutes.
The zombie hitbox.
The gamemode could have worked if it was like scythe and druid requirement but multiplayer and way harder.

poltergeist can be annoying to get but in my opinion its pretty good guard your sleepy body with throwing objects and haunt them into the void bad thing is its very trolly and can be annoying
The fact the same ppl that complained about the event being delayed threw a hissy fit about how "rushed" and how much "low effort" they out in it
tip combo zombie boss: you need use woah and barrel is very good.
Woah glove: can counter zombie boss will be stuck in 4-3 sec.
Barrel glove: can damage with ability a zombie boss

My problem with this event is that it’s TOO easy every server I go into there is at least 3 poltergeist users. I personally think this event is great but they should have made it so the person that does the most zombie damage OR kills the most zombies gets the badge because every time I play this event what kept happening is that these people would hide and let ME do all of the work and they would STILL get the glove which I think is stupid.
That zombie that soft locks into the ground happened to me and I thought the devs where trolling me for some reason but no of course it was annoying I couldn't get poltergeist but I got it eventually on a different run.
Yeah guess i'm quitting trying to get poltergeist due to the difficulty, "skill issue", yes i have skill issues and i'm also mobile, what could i do other than just try and fail all of the attempts?
tbh ive never struggled with any sb halloween or christmas event even my 3 friends got poltergeist the first day and i have never hated on a sb update since i love this game and its my favorite roblox game.
Well technically the glove has some good effort on it but i think it's a bit too op, it'll be better if they add like silhouette whenever the ghost get too close to the player or maybe make the first skill (jumpscare skill) more smaller
now the sb community should make their own glove if their so self-confident
People are complaining on how to get to the new game mode, but if you think about it, it’s actually good practice to get the glove. If you can’t slap people off, how do you expect to get it?
in my opinion this is the best update sb has gotten this far (excluding guide ofcourse)
The "hate" is absolutely justified.
Atleast we got something🤷 and tbf i was really sastified with this update. Theres 4 gloves now and they're unobtainable until next halloween. The glove was well designed. I could argue that the obtaiment was pretty bad but at least it was easy. Unlike the santa glove.
@@musicgraze Yeah I don't mind the glove's addition (plus the ones from previous years), but to delay the update by two weeks (giving players less time to actually do the event btw), only for the event to be "camp an island for ten minutes simulator" and the zombie mode was broken at wave 8, and still feels pretty lackluster and the hitboxes suck.
My point is: You would think the devs would playtest the update before releasing it, especially with a two week delay, but besides the glove itself, the update feels like a rushed homework assignment done the night before it's due.
@@DarkestMarlin74 yeah I'm pretty sure tencell wanted more time. He was definitely being pressured by his fans and he didn't really plan all of it out. Especially with a small team. Unlike the guide bossfight.
For the ammount of time they spent making this event you wouldve tought they at least would make zombies not target dead players also the enemies have a huge hitbox wich makes it really hard to not trade hit but guess what? 1 range glove and no problem! What? You got a passive glove? Too bad! Gotta get 1k points again! Its just way too rng and too many ways to cheese it
They should really make early waves easier and later waves WAY harder. Also 3 is just a really odd number at that point just make it 4
Here's what i think why people don't like the update:
1. School (kinda) update] The update released on october, meaning a month where it has school.
2. Addiction to get the new glove quickly] Grinding every night is gonna cause an addiction to actually get it. (the new glove is hard to get lol, people don't help on the waves)
3. Poltergeist] Poltergeist is a VERY annoying glove, making things spawn and kill you instantly (as you spawn) / spamming the ability (becoming the ghost and jumpscaring people. (like speedrunners or sparky who are trying to get the candies)
4. Hacking] Apparently there are people who are making scripts for badges/ boss fights / waves. (for instance, the W.D Gaster script).
Ps: i actually used this scripts to help people for Retro and Poltergeist only (and deleted instantly cuz i didn't want my alt to get banned)
5. 2 weeks until the update goes away] Of course people are mad at this, the update is lasting 2 weeks and not until October finishes.
Honestly, it's better like that because alot of people are gonna get the Halloween gloves before it ends.
(making it unfair to new players who join the game)
6. Grinders] Once a player joins the game, people are gonna get mad because they can't grind the candies because there are people who are already taking it.
7. Killstreaks] fun fact, i got death threatened people i killed a killstreak with 9 kills and took the jack wills badge.
This should explain it (people are gonna target your kills just for hallow jack)
8. getting slapped instantly after using Poltergeist ability.
OF COURSE ITS ANNOYING, ATLEAST PUT THE BODY UNDER THE GROUND UNTIL THE SPIRIT BALL GOES BACK IN YOU. (pause)
Just let the body sink on the floor until the timer runs out.

Theres a bug with necro rn (have necro equipped then go to default and kill someone, they will turn into a zombie when they respawn, really cool)

The only thing I hate about the update is the little Timmy's hogging the island once I'm trying to get the glove I still dont have it this day
