Hi. Great video! I’ve also started painting on loose canvas and enjoy painting that way. I was wondering how do you store them after they are dry? Also do you varnish them? Thank you.
Once dry, I mount mine onto wood or hardboard (Masonite) panels. You need to seal the wood with 2 coats GAC 100 or shellac before gluing to keep the canvas from getting discoloured from the wood. I use acrylic matte medium to glue the canvas to the wood. As for varnishing, I don't normally varnish my paintings. That was more important back in the day when people used wood stoves to heat and houses were full of soot. I have used Gamvar on some - Gamblin says you can use it when dry to touch. Traditionally you needed to wait about a year to make sure the oil is completely dry. Hope that helps.

It does help. Thanks.
what if I want paint on 3 feet by 5 feet unstretched canvass? how do I go about?
Find something firm to tape it to. Masonite comes 4' x 8'. Or tape to a wall.
@@irenedumateachesart tap can sometimes be loose and painting may fall down… yes/no?
if the canvas is very heavy, try industrial strength tape, or you can staple it to wood@@milanjani
Do you apply gesso or first paint wash before painting ?
Why glue?
