Instead of spending 1k gold on a Mithril token to craft your heirloom, you should buy any blue item for like 2750 gold, dismantle it, and use the mats to craft your heirlooms. 2750 / (10 / 2) is still a lot cheaper than 1k per craft. The mithril tokens are only worth it if you craft Epic items with them as the epics are usually sold for about 5k each.
