One thing specific about the mike watson example is he is walking forward into a range where his cr.mk would have wiffed, and then wiffing a cr.lk instead. Thats the reason for the forward walk. He is t just throwing out the light, theres a specific spacing as well. Which is the spacing that his cr.mk would wiff… as thats the spacing nuki is baiting (nuki is baiting a wiffed cr.mk so he can wiff punish it, mike is wiffing cr.lk to bait nukis bait) So to speak. The “point of interest” is mike isnt wiffing cr.lk at a range his cr.mk WOULD have hit… hes specifically wiffing lights at the spot nuki is baiting.
I feel you man, Yeah, I have the same experience trying to practice this stuff online, it's all going over people's head. There are only 2 guys I found who actually do what we are trying to do with this footsies handbook LoL, both akuma players, really tough guys.
I think what you tried to show also works in conjunction with forward dash, like a lot of people will press a light normal on an anticipation for a dash and then get crush countered with a heavy normal.
Bruh…I was watching ur videos before I ever played sfv…it gave me a psychological advantage that turns into wins, even though I don’t know how to do all my characters moves and no combos… The telling a story concept with ur game play is very powerful..thank u
I always try doing this but get counter hit by the faster light attack of the opponent instead of me getting priority for a heavier button, if the game is awarding counter hit to them I'm assuming we pressed at the same time so I got his timing right but for some reason all the time I get interrupted by their lights.

Tbh fundamentals are way more important than combos. Combos are just to optimize the openings made with fundamentals.
