Not normally on the tourist trail in Myanmar, this mountain city never the less has points of interest as this film shows. Filming pre-dates military and Covid -19 restrictions.
My big sister was born there just after the end of the Second World War. My second sister and I were born in Rangoon but we used to visit Taunggyi. We had friends there too. Makes me weep from the loss of my country and my story. We now live in the UK. Nice but not the same. We are still looking for those familiar childhood reassurances of our childhood trusts. Ay ay ay… yeah. Still Karen, still a brought up Christian but still Buddhist without dilution. Bless you all.
Those Tomato’s are beautiful!
