      I got mine 6 weeks ago, on Amzn, for £399.
      Only downside could be when the battery comes to the end of it's lifespan.
      Q:- "Could you tell me whether the tyres are Tubeless or not?" , and "Would solid tyres be a good option?"
      (it seems EBikes are generally tubeless, but I have seen angled valve innertubes for 14x2.125 tyres, which would be necessary for the rear wheel). Sorry, if that's a noob question.

    I'm a pensioner and I ride the illegal 400/450w 48v version made by DYU for Kugoo Kirin, and iEnyrid. The V1/B2. I fitted a taller seat post, lower bars, and better brakes for about £50. I use it in illegal throttle mode and it always makes me smile. I'm going to upgrade to 52v when the battery needs replacing but that looks a long way off.
    The 36v DYU as riden by you has been tweeked by a few people. For example the 100kph DYU built by Julius in Pimp my Pev #4.

    Your seat, Eilis, would be better a lot higher up, 160° at the knee would give greater comfort, and power. This tiny bike has a good seat-tube angle, as well, *actually* ! Might get me one for the van 😊

    Nice review. I recently ordered this electric bike from Amazon. It's scheduled to be delivered in the next few days. I'm almost 65 years young, retired, 5'9, 165 pounds, and workout 3 or more times a week. I decided to purchase this e-bike because of the cost, portability, and features(I wanted an electric vehicle I could pedal but that wasn't too fast.). My main uses for this e-bike will be errands in a small town in deep South Texas (about a 30-45 minute drive from the Mexican border). This will be my first time on a 2 wheeled bicycle(I ride a trike at a local park sometimes) after my motorcycle accident in 2015 where I was run over by a distracted driver and spent 3 weeks in the hospital. It's time to "get back on the horse that threw me" to use an old Texas euphemism...:)

    These days I drive an Emove Escooter that is bunji corded twice to a extra wide wheelchair ♿!! I have tons of lights that go on the big wheels and around the thing and I have a over the shoulder strap/seatbelt so I can't get thrown from it. I carry my groceries home really well with it because I have a front strong thermal bag and a back one that I only bring when I am going to the grocery store. I promote The Blue Man Group with it too! Lots of blue on it and tons of blue lights for night rides around my Las Vegas,,BABY!! 💋

    Looks like a fun ride, I bet quite a few would be ecstatic hopping on it and zipping about town. Having ridden to work using BART and then hauling my M2 Specialized bike up elevators and parking it inside, I can tell you I would love one just that size. Looks just about perfect, nice and nimble, fast and responsive in tight spaces. Perhaps an ESP32-S2 with tmp117 temp probe would make a nice safety device product, it could wifi you alerts if your bike gets too hot. Another stellar video - thanks! Perhaps you could do episodes on different bike riding uses(commute/shopping/exploring/exercising/socializing) and which bikes are better for each of those purposes. these individual bike reviews are great!

    Good to see you out and about in the real world, in a bit of rain (must do pouring rain sometime, like people have to if commuting!). Great you are supporting cheaper bike for those who don't have millions of pounds to spare. Also brill for going through the safe charging/battery story, we really need to sort these myths out for everyone's sake. Bike is a bit weirdly small, few spec items, weight and carrying would be helpful. Thanks for pushing the bell issue. All bikes should have bells..

  • @paulcullen814
    @paulcullen814 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If the bike had a quick release lever to drop the saddle to the lowest setting, a folding mechanism at the bottom of the handlebars to drop them along the bike like the folding scooters do, and had a stand built onto the back to hold it upright once the front of the bike is lifted into the air then it would probably not take up much more floorspace than a folding bike other than the extra height which is probably just wasted space anyway when storing a folding bike. It could then be stood in the corner of the room, or the hallway or shed/garage when not being ridden.

    So what i need is an ebike to get to and from train station (4 miles each way) and to and from shops (2 miles each way) - both just far enough to default to car instead of walk.
    So ostensibly this looks great.
    But i live between leeds and wakefield. Each of those small journeys involves hills of varying degrees from gentle but extended incline which it would probably handle fine but also steepness in both directions on the longer journey to the train station which i doubt 10Nm will even touch.
    So... whats the best cheap option to handle a hill commute, rather than for cities which tend to be flatter? A rural home shops and public transport hub commuter?
    Doesnt need to have huge range but needs to have power, and needs to be low cost.
    *Throws down gauntlet with hopeful expression*

    @jezlawrence720 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Re bms & battery quality: fully agree. Nothing Li+ bigger than a mobile phone battery (and even then if its taking over 5v usb input...) should be allowed without a quality bms.
    Ebikes ought to be switching to lifepo4 asap, also.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    I've been riding my custom Windgoo for 2 years and it is a reliable fun ride to work and local shops. I added pedal assist, front brake, front forks, seat suspension and a bigger front wheel. Battery life is good and quick little ride around.

    I've got a Kugoo Kirin B2, the same bike with a different name, bought it last year for a laugh. My normal bike now has 2 flat tyres, hasn't turned a wheel since.

    For £494 you can get a Halfords Hybrid Assist Ebike, and it will have a better warranty and after sales backup. And it doesn't look ridiculous

    Ok update on the tyres.
    I spent roughly 70 pounds trying to get hold if a tyre that would work in the end the best tyre i have found to get is from Halfords, it's not the same width but it will fit nicely, it's a 1.75 not the 2.2 but the tyre works really well.
    So if you have one of these bikes and you need a new tyre check out Halfords they do a good range of tyres at hood prices, i could have saved around 60 pounds had i gone there first.

    Great little bike I have one myself, I would like if they added larger wheels (for more torque & top speed) and a removable (perhaps upgradable?) battery.

    Without the throttle it is simply not fun. You should have pretended to disconnect it... or maybe you did😮

      No-one is gonna take notice if she does have the throttle connected. But because laws are laws and she is in a profession , They have to adhere.
