    Awesome video, Captain Dan! I was glad to see that you pulled your sleeves up above your elbows, at least it looked that way on one arm, to keep you from getting it soiled with black tank contents. You did an awesome job cleaning everything up while keeping gloved up, although it must’ve been really hot, because your hands were really looking sweaty in those gloves. Thank you so much for sharing this important maintenance video! It’s always a great day to be on a yacht.

    Again great video! I just wanted to ask if you would for us just learning, add in all items if any you use to clean and or lubricate etc! Possible other videos if you’d like, I know I would aside from any and all engine room items, the shower and head pumps, those enclosed things in bottom of shower under floor, I heard those go bad a lot? Much appreciated, you are great and a wealth of knowledge!

      Thank you for continued watching and commenting, I appreciate it! I can work on some of these topics. Shower sump box pumps can and do go out more often than a standard bilge pump. I can get one of those videos at some point too! I’ve got a running list of topics and will hit record when one of these projects come up. I’m happy to hear you are finding the videos helpful!

    After every pump out add a teaspoon of Norflex Digestor in the head and it will eliminate the problem. You can purchase at Denfender

    Very informative. Thank you. But…. Two tanks port & starboard. Both of them the tops of the tank are very close to the ceiling in the engine room. IF I have that style it would require removing the tank to get float out. I guess I may have a different type of sending unit

    Finally ☺️ i found out how to remove the waste sensor and it looks prestige yacht right?😁

    • @ElevateYacht

      Yes this was on a Prestige. I’ve cleaned the sensor on other brands and the process is pretty much the same.

    Great video, much appreciated as I have a Prestige 500S with identical holding tank.
    I must say however that when I tried to remove the tube it was absolutely impossible. Is there any way to do it?
    Any ideas as to facilitate such removal?
    Many thanks!!

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was definitely not an easy part to remove. I found that a pair of locking vise-grips worked the best. Somewhere in the comments for this video someone had another suggestion that could work but it involved a little more work. Check that as another option.
      I manage and maintain multiple Prestige yachts. Feel free to reach out with any questions! Thank you for watching and for your input. Cheers!

    Hello Capt. Dan. I noticed that you are on a Prestige yacht in this vid. I have been trying to find a waste holding tank vent filter. Does the Prestige 500s have one? Wracking my brain!!

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Im not sure if they changed the location depending on the year of the vessel but on the 550 and some other 500s, the filter was behind the forward VIP closet wall on the port side. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and for the question. Cheers!

    Great video Captain Dan!! Finally I found that video. You should add more detail to the name because it doesn't come up on the search easily. Question, can I open that larger tab to clean the tank? Is that a Jabsco tank? Where do I get the sensor replacement? Thanks

    • @ElevateYacht
      @ElevateYacht  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great information on the video title! I will look at editing that. Great questions as well. I am not sure of the tank brand. I can check next time I am in the bilge of a similar model, but I believe those are fairly interchangeable. The larger black tab can be opened, but they are typically sealed in pretty well to keep smells from seeping out. You would need to make sure to properly reseal after cleaning. I have cleaned out a fresh water holding tank from the sensor hole in the past, it takes a little longer with a few more rounds of spraying but did the trick. The sensor replacement is pretty easy to replace, most boat yards or parts stores should be able to order the part. If you ever have a problem, shoot me an email and I’d be glad to try and help.
      Thank you again for watching, commenting and for the great questions! Cheers!

    Just a thought. You might invest in a 12 point socket to make it easier to remove or even a crows foot wrench. Just a thought.

      You can use and flush marine grade toilet paper down but it’s recommended not to use too much as the systems can be sensitive to plugging up. Marine systems are not as hardy the system in your home. Thank you for watching and commenting, I’m glad you like the content! I will try to keep bringing out similar repair and maintenance content. Cheers!

    You just need an 1/2 drive 8 point socket what ever size the square nut is.
    ( example ) www.royalsupply.com/store/pc/Wright-Tool-4340-1-2-Inch-Drive-1-1-4-Inch-Special-8-Point-Chrome-Square-Socket-p50666.htm
    Leave the socket zip tied to one of the nearby hoses when finished for the next time.

    • @ElevateYacht

      Great input! Thanks for sharing. The hard part is having the electrical coming out of the one end so I’m not sure of the socket will fit on, but I will definitely try! Thanks for watching!

      @@ElevateYacht Take a grinder with a cut off blade and cut a slot in the side of the socket to accommodate the wire, the sensor unit shouldn't be tightened so tight as to break the weakened socket.
