I was lucky enough to visit the Engadine Valley and cross it on skis from Passo Maloja to Zuoz. She is really beautiful.
In the lap of the serene white mountain,... The light of dawn awakens, her long, shining hair warms the blanket of ice... Colored elves appearing out of nowhere, slip and weave ideas and dreams... Only the long winding furrows they embroider stories and fables.

Our Canadian National Cross Country Ski team trains in our back yard, so I think we have a pretty nice area. But alas you win. The area where you are is truly spectacular. I have been in Engadin-Valley (Silvaplana and all around) always in late-summer-time, so this view of the majestic-winter-wonderland makes me cry again - as I Ialways did, when I left this valley. What Nietzsche said is so true and I felt the same - and this feeling is still in my heart. If you go there in summer: take the Albula-Pass... And Lea, You are right: Maloja-Pass makes this experience complete and round. All the best for You!!!

Great video Lea from an old winter loving ski bum. I just got back from a day of counting birds for the Audubon Christmas bird count. It was snowing in the morning and 10% F or about -13 C it wormed up at noon when the snow had stopped and the sun came out. What a amazing day it was to be out side. I love it. I am going to go to the local ski hill for New Years tomorrow. Thank you for showing such beautiful video pictures of Switzerland in winter.

@@Got2Go well we have not added them all up yet. I guess there where 30 some species.We counted a128 Canadian Geese in one park we also saw 6 Bald Eagles and many more birds. We count all day and do a small section out of a 15 mile diameter circle around a town. Sections are divided up between all the participants.

Beautiful sunrise at the beginning as was the rest of the video. If I ever had the means I would buy myself a home somewhere in the mountains and always have some food in my pocket for the birds! A great episode to end the year and be sure I’ll be following your adventures next year.

That’s basically the life my parents live - they have a small cabin in the mountains and a bird house that is nearly as big as their cabin always stocked with seeds and food 😂

It’s very beautiful there. I visited several glaciers in the Alps and in Norway. I’ve been into two glaciers. One was on the Kleine Matterhorn at almost 3900m high. It had beautiful ice sculptures.
Lötschental had a beautiful glacier but It’s been more than 2.0 years since I walked in that valley.
I never go walking without water and something to eat; energy bar or something.
Dutch people only can think of ice skating when they hear about a frozen lake.
Julien and Majola pass, I visited several decades ago in summer.
You saw how my ice skating went in the last episode - still a lot to improve 😂😂😂
