Ah, the Pyrenees. My wife and I go there every year, and have done so for the 7 years we have been together. The Catalan people are extremely welcoming, and the roads and views without equal. One of those places you really must go to at least once in your lifetime..
Hi Bib, my wife and I go for the first time in May. She’s nervous to say the least. Primarily she’s concerned about finding accommodation and riding on the right for the first time. You’re a seasoned visitor so, any tips to ease her nerves. Thanks in advance 😊👍
With its heavenly natural setting and sacred pilgrimage sites, the Pyrenees is a soul-inspiring destination. The gorgeous landscape includes forested mountains, green valleys, dramatic gorges, pristine lakes, and rushing waterfalls, with important towns along the rivers.
Perhaps, like life, adventure motorcycling is about accepting and learning to appreciate whatever conditions you meet along the way. When riding a motorcycle you only have a relatively short time in every place because one is not carrying a house on our back! Lol! We are, by nature explorers, and so mobile and moving on. And...so is life. We are only here for a short time and we are always moving. Life is always changing and moving around us and we are in control of very little. This is adventure motorcycling and this is life. And it is beautiful! Thank you Lea for sharing you our journey with is. It is beautiful!
I did the Transpirenaican Trip from east to west on july 2021. For me, the most beatiful place was Aubisque. Amazing views from there. Your trip and images bring me good memories.
"Goodmorning, I'm somehwere in Spain..." ...instant beauty! What a gorgeous backdrop! I lived near there for a few years and I love this part of the world sooooo much. Watching your awesome videos has really made me reassess future life goals...👍👍👍
You have no idea what a happy person you are! You have driven along such beautiful roads of the world! And You share your impressions with us. Thank you. ❤️
I was born in Pau and spent the first 6 years of my life in a satellite village of Laruns (Louvie Soubiron). We moved to Australia but went back there about 6 times. Beautiful country! Even better food!
Nice post despite the fog! June about six years ago, being a Tour de France fan, I rode both the Col d'Aubisque and Col du Tourmalet on my then BMW GS700. I allowed one day for each summit so that I could take my time with stops and my favourite ham and cheese baguette snack with a small beer! Great scenery and lucky to have warm sunny days and no accommodation problems as before French school and general holidays. I stayed in Jaca in Spain and Lourdes in France as my starting points.
That sounds like an awesome trip! I was blessed with good weather on my first two Pyrenee rides too - but that’s how it sometimes is! Can’t do anything about the weather.
Motercycle+Mountain's+lea=Fantastic combination. Love your videos and how you explain everything is so shooting. All the best my dear. In future if you have plans. Kindly visit Indian Himalayas. 😇🙏🙏💚
Yet another invigorating video. When touring in Europe, you cannot go wrong if you travel to the picturesque places frequented by cyclists, particularly the Tour, the Giro and the Vuelta. We are looking forward to returning to the Alps and the Pyrenees.
I feel your pain with the fog. Its so tiring riding in it. That said another great production with loads of ideas for future trips. Thank you. Stay safe.
What a beautiful ride Lea. The fog adds an element of mystery and charm to the ride and we know there's always sunshine behind the fog 😊. Such beautiful little villages, very scenic and full of character. Thanks for the trip and happy riding. Cheers
Thank you for coming along. I am still sad though that I couldn’t show you the full views - but you are literally trying to make the best out of the video still. I will bring some sun next week thiugh!
France is a beautiful country , it is true. You make beautiful videos , good camera, great comment and editing. I really enjoy watching your episodes. Robin
I've done 3 times Laruns to BdLuchon track, and others within pyrenees always astoning views. A pleasure to come back again. Very nice footage by the way! Thanks for the tip on Beost restaurant.
Danke Danke Danke, 1000 Erinnerungen beim angucken.
Lea those places and views are just breathtaking! The beauty of those mountains and plains , and nature is just amazing. You are so lucky that you get to experience it in such a way . Safe travels to you and your companions. ❤️ from NY .
Beautiful video, Lea--thanks for making this! Your problems with fog reminded me of a 10-day trip we took to the Alps in 2010. Nothing but fog and rain ... until we got into the airport at Munich to return at which point the clouds magically disappeared.
im really enjoying your videos of all the places your go to. as for Pyrenees, when i was in Spain in 1970 took a trip up to Mt Serrate, (spelling) and was able to see them with snow on top. but they were all the way across the valley, So looking forward to your next episode.
I have lived in the American Mountain west since 1984, always around mountains: Sandias, Intercoastal, Sierras, Rockies in the US and Canada. But the character of these mountains are different from anything I have seen up to now. Really eye popping! So….green! And…steep! I love it when you say “But don’t you worry guys!” We never worry when watching your travel videos, you should know that!
Awww that’s such a nice thing to write - thank you so much for these words! But don’t you worry - there will be sunshine and a lot of very special mountains coming up in the next episodes. It’s crazy how different mountains can be, I thought exactly the same when I came to the Rockies the first time - that I have never seen mountains like that!
Lea Even though it was very foggy during your trip, it was a fabulous video Lady! I'm looking forward to your next, hopefully less foggy video. Peace Lea!! Ride SAFE and BE safe Lady!! 🙌👏👏👏👏👏👍✌👌🤙👋🙂 Here is your roses Lady!! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Was already waiting for the roses! No Thursday without roses no more (but what if you decide to give me other flowers next week - or maybe no flowers anymore at all?!? 😱 now you have to stick with this as long as I make videos here, otherwise I will get sad)
What a very interesting vid my congratulations to you Lea and travel partner really enjoyed it ..some of the roads in your vid reminds me of North Wales in the UK where l live ✌🏍👍
Great video, what a amazing part of the world. It brings back some fabulous memories when I was crazy enough to cycle up Aubisque twice in the same day . We watched the tour de France the next day
You do a outstanding job filming and narrating your videos! I’m really enjoying the Europe tour since I’ll never get a chance to cross the ocean I’ll see it through your lens. Safe Travels!
Loved the video. I personally enjoy riding through fog as long as it's not at night. But it's all part of the adventure. Looking forward to more videos. Safe riding!
See you next week.
you guys are so lucky to have the opportunity and why not the time to travel all around Europe, so beautiful areas again...all the best and stay safe!!
We're never happy with what we have. As a Frenchman, I regard the big region around the US-Canadian border as the nicest place in the world. Québec, Maine, Ontario, Montana, Oregon, B-Colombia...
The Pyrenees look quite impressive. I love mountains; must be because I live in a very flat country. Mass tourism often ruins beautiful places. I hate fog; it’s so dangerous to ride a bike then. Car drivers often seem to think that they have radar eyes. With glasses you see nothing at all. I remember the long descent to Geiranger in Norway.
Thank you for the nice episode and for the throwback in time riding the same roads! Despite the bad weather it was still entertaining and this episode was great company while I was cooking my monkfish dinner! Glad Hans (that’s the name I gave your mystery partner) saw the cow on time. It would just have been bad luck if she was on the road!!
Shame about the weather, last time I was in the Pyrenees, I was lucky with the weather and enjoyed great views. Agree, riding in the mist or fog is no fun at all. Dealing with adverse weather is part of the deal on motorcycle trips!
Wow beautiful views and sceneries! Too bad about the weather though blocking most of the views. I love those curvy roads...they are amazing. Just watch out for those cows, hehe. See you next week and ride safe!
