Perhaps, like life, adventure motorcycling is about accepting and learning to appreciate whatever conditions you meet along the way. When riding a motorcycle you only have a relatively short time in every place because one is not carrying a house on our back! Lol! We are, by nature explorers, and so mobile and moving on. And...so is life. We are only here for a short time and we are always moving. Life is always changing and moving around us and we are in control of very little. This is adventure motorcycling and this is life. And it is beautiful! Thank you Lea for sharing you our journey with is. It is beautiful!
Nice post despite the fog! June about six years ago, being a Tour de France fan, I rode both the Col d'Aubisque and Col du Tourmalet on my then BMW GS700. I allowed one day for each summit so that I could take my time with stops and my favourite ham and cheese baguette snack with a small beer! Great scenery and lucky to have warm sunny days and no accommodation problems as before French school and general holidays. I stayed in Jaca in Spain and Lourdes in France as my starting points.
That sounds like an awesome trip! I was blessed with good weather on my first two Pyrenee rides too - but that’s how it sometimes is! Can’t do anything about the weather.

Ah, the Pyrenees. My wife and I go there every year, and have done so for the 7 years we have been together. The Catalan people are extremely welcoming, and the roads and views without equal. One of those places you really must go to at least once in your lifetime..

It was really really cold. But mostly because I had to ride with an open visor at one point because the humidity just crawled in everywhere and I could see anymore otherwise…
on a mt pass in Oregon I nearly hit the rear of a moving van .. the driver had stopped in the lane for some reason and was out walking around the truck as I first saw the glow from brake lights and changed lanes just in time to miss him ... fog can be treacherous ... besides blocking the views
It’s really dangerous - I feel like we saw even less than it appears with the go pro, there was really no view at all. Definitely not my favorite to ride in.
This ride is on my bucket list. Actually riding all the great passes in Europe are on that list. Thinking about shipping a bike that direction. Any advice on shipping, planning routes in Europe, or anything else?
I don’t know where you are based, but if it’s North America air Canada has a fantastic fly your bike program each summer. Most uncomplicated cargo I ever did!

The Pyrenees is our lands, im a real Pyrenees descendent, my grandfathers run away from the Christians massacre against them because they were converted to Islam in the 8 th century. Our tribe has the Pyrenees last name ,this lands doesn't belong to France nor to Spain, this is my grandfathers lands and wr should get it back someday ❤ the real name is el peranes
Shame about the weather, last time I was in the Pyrenees, I was lucky with the weather and enjoyed great views. Agree, riding in the mist or fog is no fun at all. Dealing with adverse weather is part of the deal on motorcycle trips!

Yet another invigorating video. When touring in Europe, you cannot go wrong if you travel to the picturesque places frequented by cyclists, particularly the Tour, the Giro and the Vuelta. We are looking forward to returning to the Alps and the Pyrenees.
With its heavenly natural setting and sacred pilgrimage sites, the Pyrenees is a soul-inspiring destination. The gorgeous landscape includes forested mountains, green valleys, dramatic gorges, pristine lakes, and rushing waterfalls, with important towns along the rivers.
I did the Transpirenaican Trip from east to west on july 2021. For me, the most beatiful place was Aubisque. Amazing views from there. Your trip and images bring me good memories.
Lea those places and views are just breathtaking! The beauty of those mountains and plains , and nature is just amazing. You are so lucky that you get to experience it in such a way . Safe travels to you and your companions. ❤️ from NY .

The Pyrenees look quite impressive. I love mountains; must be because I live in a very flat country. Mass tourism often ruins beautiful places. I hate fog; it’s so dangerous to ride a bike then. Car drivers often seem to think that they have radar eyes. With glasses you see nothing at all. I remember the long descent to Geiranger in Norway.

I have been to the Western Pyrenees 3 times, twice on a motorcycle and once in a car. 2 or 4 wheels it is spectacular in good weather.

Beautiful, despite the fog. But yes, riding in fog seems to allow the moisture to be very penatrating.
It was actually as well very cold… quite a challenge with as well staying so focused and concentrated in the bad view. But still fun!

Mayyyyybe we went on a Little dirt road adventure in next weeks episode. But we were careful and knew part of the roads (only parts…..)

Fog, rain and snow shut me down twice at Glacier National Park, in Montana, in 2016 and 2018. Dare I go back a third time?
Do it! I have been there on my world trip, I got up at 4 am to be the first and only one there - and it was so worth it! It was a stunning ride!
