OMG I came across your work on Pinterest & it spoke to the unsupported inner child in me.. you rock; you're a super inspiration to me, & thank you thank you THANKYOU for sharing!!! Much love!!! XOXO
Hey, new subscriber here. I resonate so much with what you are saying. Family, Wasting paper, get a job, grow outta stationery/kiddy stuff, sticker swapping (funny i became a stationery,art/craft buyer - but also making a pivot back to inner child and my art) We are so used to pleasing others, I think it's important to be unapologetic ourselves which takes time and which you seem so excited about. Through this video, you kept saying 'it may not be what most of you like or popular', but actually those are the art pieces that shines loudest and makes you most happy and makes it uniquely you. I look forward to seeing your progress and hearing your thoughts! Edited: byw love the hobonichis... I didn't finish mine either and thinking how I'm going to use those pages 😊
I absolutely know what you mean re: thinking about how happy the art you're making now would make your younger self. Your sketchbook tours are really inspiring to me for that exact reason: they make me want to push back on what I've been taught "real" art is. I also got criticised for being too cartoony/anime/Disney!
Great to see so much colour and bold strokes in your sketchbook. Your art has soul. No need to meet anybody's expectations. You're growing and it's beautiful 💜
It was really interesting to hear your feelings about nostalgia and reliving childhood art, especially if you were not encouraged to express yourself at a younger age. I absolutely love your combination of very deep, adult feelings with the bright colours and the stickers. So much character!!
5:06 I remember discovering artist who drew anime portraits by oil paint inside of her sketchbook. My mind was blown away, i thought bout how genious it is, and how didnt i think about it. Its a good idea also for breaking those stereotypes if they are set deep withing you. I always loved oils so much and i didnt go to art university which made me miss traditional arts heavily and caused me a biggest artblock. Ironically, in design university where i went people also had their own weird stereotypes. To think about it, all these stigmas about art, isnt about art at all, it just come from ideas of one groups of people thinking highly of themselves than the others.
Your art makes me so happy 💖 and it’s really lovely to hear you talk through your processes. I love collecting stickers too ☺️Thank you for your art! 💐
Been here seen your watercolor phase, love to see how your artstyle has evolved and how it has became so much colorful, your use of color and your collages are inspiring, def taking notes
Currently in bed before going to my "real job" , yet i am still filling my sketchbook while watching your super inspiring video ❤ a lot of things you said resonated with me and your style is lovely, i'll be following and looking forward your 100th sketchbook 🌺💕
If you made a zine with some of your favorite 90s nostalgic sticker/neon/anime art that you’ve done I would throw my money so fast!! 🤩👏🏻👏🏻 I grew up in that same era and all of these sketchbook explorations are just so fun and brave and beautiful!! 😭👏🏻💖✨
Amazing vid!! I remember your prior artwork which felt more dreamy but I’m loving this electric, girly/vibrant vibe (ironically my art style has also geared towards this direction as well so it feels really nice to watch your transformation as well)! Also love the comment at 19:20 where you feel/know you’re capable but your results aren’t conveying that for some reason. Anyways, Ive been wanting to do some traditional art today and this video is def encouraging, thanks for sharing! 💞
I'm really loving these videos ! I also feel you a lot with being stuck with your art, but you keep going and trying new things; it's really refreshing and encouraging!!
I'm so glad to hear you're happier with your work, that should be what matters! My style is completely different, but I love sketchbooks that aren't afraid to be messy and bursting with colour! (Also, since you got 100 sketchbooks now.... sketchbook zine, yes/yes?? 👀)
I think I've said it before, but I found your art during your Dreamtober era in... 2019? So I've been there for a few years now too. I really got into that watercolour style, but what I probably love the most about your art journey since then is how much you've reflected, evolved and learned from yourself and that is amazing. It is so important to stay true and honest to yourself, to take a break when it's needed, to move away from old stuff and explore the 'new' you. And I'm so proud of you doing that! I especially love those messy, wonky collage-ish pages. When I see those I think: "Yes, I think if I did that, it would be very helpful to me too," but actually doing it is a completely different story. So thanks for sharing them!
Awe thank you Jeske💕 when I remember that I have sweet people like you that have supported me through it all - I feel so at ease to experiment and be myself!💕
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS, this is the fifth time I'm watching the video. It is helping me in the period that I'm going through about remembering who I am and what I truly like at heart even if it is absurd and stupid. I've also seen the drawing of sakura on instragram, wich I loved, i loove Sakura, she is my childhood next to Sailor Moon. Anyway I just wanted to tell you that I love your neon theme, and colors and the phrases too, I also was prohibited to pursue art. Please keep talking and showing your evolution and how you embrace those true parts of you. Thank you 💗
I love the collage and text pieces!!! that's some of my favorite types of art to look at and I really wanna try incorporating a similar vibe into my own stuff :''D
I loved watching this Autumn and so happy you're pursing what you love! all your work is so beautiful and exciting look forward to more. Also me wanting to now collect your stickers and hoard them like a 90s child haha
Your art is so pretty! I'm happy to hear that youre also feeling happier too!! :D I'm sorry if youre going thrpugh some stuff but its great to hear youre doing okay now! ^^
I love your sketchbook so much, its super expressive and colourful! I have one question, i love the blending and colours on the drawing at 13:08 ! May I ask what medium(s) you used for this?
I was just thinking, because I make my own sketchbooks so I can work on my graphic novel, and I would buy that pattern as a fabric on Spoonflower or whatever. I love making my own sketchbooks, but I'm getting into a little bit of a panic about having made more than I'm presently able to use. I can't imagine my graphic novel taking up a hundred sketchbooks; that would be so wild! Where do you put them all?
I have a shelf that they all sit on! They’re all stacked on top of each other and it’s a bit of a mess, but they’re all together! I’ve seen other people use big crates to store old journals and sketchbooks, but I like to be able to reference them at any time!

I feel like that is all too common! Here’s to all of us redefining what art can be!💕

Oh thank you dear friend 💕
