I really enjoyed this review and that you included your son in the action. I just got one 2 days ago and assembled it with ease. I am 77 now and have been out of the hobby for several years, so I bought mine as a beautiful Hangar Queen to hang inverted on my ceiling just to remind me of my joy for aviation full size and RC. They don't get much prettier or fun for the non 3D flyers, and your knife edges were great to watch. My Byron Eagle with a 4.2 Sachs was incredibly fun to fly until I re-kitted it. Have fun and buddy cord up with your son.
Wonderful flight & videotaping guys. She is a nice model indeed. I received my FMS Avanti V3 but the reflex gyro did not work properly ( stayed in Optimised) so they are sending a replacement gyro.
Nice review stuart-wish i had a youngster that young and keen but now hes 21 and chasing other things 😁 i have one of these myself (Pitts V2) and im yet to fly it but one of my friends has flown it a couple of times (to see if he liked it). Mine didnt come with a reflex gyro as it came direct from FMS (like all my FMS stuff) so i cant comment first hand on their reflex system but your comments seem to echo everything ive heard elsewhere about it (seems to be a good system). Keep up the good work👍
What specifically should I do to my V1 to bring it up to V2 standards? I don’t fly reflex or stabilisation and I think the battery straps are better than the tray since I know those trays come loose, so then I think it’s just the colour scheme and forward mounted servos and pushrods to tail mounted servos on the elevator and rudder that would need to change? One thing I seem to notice is that the battery tray clicks in quite far forward as opposed to where the pack sits in V1 I wish I could figure that out, they must have put weight in the tail because if I put my pack anywhere near there I have a severe nose heavy machine.
Somebody please help me! So I purchased this bird and I noticed that it came with a separate controller box in it. That I have not seen in any of the videos that I've seen so far about this airplane. It's called a reflex V2. What does anybody know about this box? All of the flight control Servos are plugged into it. What is this thing? Is it a flight controller? A Gyro set up Or just a pass through for the flight controls cables? Is it trustworthy? Or should I remove it and replace it with Y-cables for the ailerons and plug everything directly into AS3X equipped six channel Spectrum receiver? Some people at the Flying field told me that there's been problems with this bird. But all the videos I have seen show that it flows really well. Are those problems due to this reflects V2 box that it comes with?
Hi Stu (the "red Decathlon guy" here :) ) I've just got the Pitts and put the compact 4500mAh in it. I'm going to maiden it this weekend (if the weather allows). A quick question: where's your CG? As per manual or different? I'm asking, because I've seen various comments, where people advise to move it more forward from the original one.
A delightful informative 'pilot like us' review. I also fly one with a 4500 Zippy and found it an excellent compromise between cost, weight and good CG. Great slow flyer, but needs a controlled flat gentle landing to avoid bouncing back up.

Great review!...and yes, family does come first!

Really love your videos Stuart. You've sold me the Flightline Spitfire 1600mm and now the FMS Pitts as well! Keep up the great work my friend.
Super nice plane and awesome flight. 🌞😁
Stuart....Well done. Family first. 👍👍
Family definitely comes first ! Great video just bought one myself.
Great review, just finished mine!
Nice review Stuart and beautiful son who will be a pilot in the future.
Nice review Stuart! Looks like a lot of fun to fly!
Awesome flying Stuart. I'll wait for this model here in South Africa. Pre ordered my Freewing Venom v2 first after watching you fly yours a while ago.

Classic stick-banging model that will look good doing precision aerobatics, too. Thanks for the review Stuart.
I’d be inclined to agree, it’s just that I’m not the pilot for that job so couldn’t comment 😉
Nice flying plane, thanks for doing the video.
can`t wait to get mine :D will be my first biplane :D These things just looks so nice
Nice model, and good flying from stuart!
Great job thank you!
I enjoyed your review, great aircraft!

Can someone tell me the size or the diameter of the spinner on this airplane?
I need to get me one of these. Would this run of 2 x 4000mAh 3s in series?
I guess it could.
Will it fit a Carbon 5100 6S? Stuart, your son's definitely got the airplane bug! Well done!
William Decker it’s plenty big enough the space in there so I should think it would.

Thanks for the feedback John, that's the kind of feel I was always going for, so glad that's coming across.
