  • A story of one family's loss to fentanyl poisoning, recorded during the DEA Family Summit on Opioid Overdose and Fentanyl Poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

@jcar4lifemancity4life5 ok before you attack me for saying weed is bad please hear me out….
At that kids young age, all weed is going to is have negative effects on brain development. There are countless studies that back up claims that weed can have long term impacts on memory, cognitive ability etc… and can induce anxiety, depression etc…
Now once he’s old enough where he can decide what’s good or bad for himself, his mother was definitely not wrong for being concerned with her 14 year old son smoking weed.
Only weed addicts will rebuttal this, and will always be the case unfortunately.

I have this talk with him often because I don't ever ever ever want to feel the depth of pain these parents do... Im empathic, so I internalize it, and it takes days sometimes weeks to heal from seeing and feeling things like this... But at least I can.. These parents don't have that option. Please, PLEASE, don't take shit from anyone! idc if it's your cuz or bestie or even your parent.. PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT. It's just not worth it anymore. RIP you, sweet boy. ThugWife I don’t disagree with your comment and the video may be enough for some but not everyone. I never thought my son would ever abuse drugs until he overdosed. Thankfully the police arrived, administered narcan and eventually he regained consciousness. The EMTs planned to take him to the hospital but he refused. He declared that it was sleep apnea and didn’t need to go. I was curious why he didn’t go but he is old enough to decide and I accepted that. The next day I was speaking with a friend, telling him about the circumstances of the day before. He told me I shouldn’t be so confident by eliminating the possibility of it being an overdose. I shook my head and could hear myself saying “never say my child would never do that”. So I began to research information about overdosing and types of drugs. I spoke with nurses, family doctor, therapists, counselors eagerly wanting someone to say sleep apnea is a probable cause. But no one ever said that. I confronted my son with the information I found. He denied it. I was able to obtain narcan in case it happened again. Eventually he went missing for a week. During that week, the man I was dating received a FaceTime call from my son at 3:00a.m. He told me he could hear two voices but neither were my son. He also said one of the guys said “he’s fucking dead, dude”. My boyfriend continued to watch and realized they were in a car when the dome light appeared. The call ended when one the the men noticed my son’s phone was on. I don’t know what they did with my son at that time...but after having a conversation with him, one of those days he woke up in an emergency room. So I question the actions of his buddies...did they pull the car over, remove my son and leave him? My son overdosed again in February. Coming close to death wasn’t enough for my son to quit...an addict thinks of no one but themselves. I hope this video will save someone’s life.

This makes me so sad to watch, this live footage brought me to tears. I feel so much for this child's mom, she sounds like she really was trying to get the help her child needed. My sister passed away this past June from a fentanyl overdose, just a couple days after her 17th birthday. Unfortunately she knew that she was taking fentanyl as well. She had her own struggles, but I felt like we were finally building a relationship and we were actually growing close for once. Growing up in a family of addicts, you think you'd know all of the signs, but it's not always that easy. I feel like schools definitely need to do a better job at making kids aware of the impacts that drugs can cause and stress to them that they don't always know what they are getting their selves into. The only thing that was offered to me in school was a DARE class in 5th grade, which lasted a very short amount of time.

Mac Millers drug dealers had a history of lacing their drugs with fent. Why weren't they arrested before? because his drug dealers where chemist doctors with PHD"s who had a license to develop and "prescribe" recreational drugs. this is never going to stop because it's allowed and big pharma controls it.

the government isn't killing them, it's the parents, when you take a good child and make them feel like shit believe it or not they look for a way to fix the problem, and as much as you think you're a great parent, you're not, a child's brain is a sponge; if you lash out at them one time, they will refuse to talk to you about how that made them feel to prevent you from lashing out at them more, and they will always have that memory in the back of their head, so when a drug makes them feel euphoric and uplifted, they love it and keep doing it to get that feeling back in order to "forget" that experience, coming from a 17-year-old man who has been told his entire life that my experiences don't matter because I live in a suburban area, I feel for the kid in the video and I know something happened that she's not telling us about.

In an unstable environment or even in an environment where a mother is dropping a young child off at daycare daily the brain is at greater risk of developing hypervigilance, anxiety, emotional reactivity, depression, etc.. Give your kids a good start. At least most countries in Europe mandate very long periods of parental leave like 12 months etc.. That at least is somewhat helpful. Dumping kids of at daycare and getting them later involved in countless back to back activities is a remedy for anxiety laden kids that feel the need to self medicate with marijuana, Xanax. Percocet, alcohol, etc..

Same. I have a cousin who just turned 14 himself, also born in 2008. I held him in my arms in the hospital when he was born. He’s more like a little brother to me than a cousin. He’s not interested in much more than video games and fencing, so it just makes me absolutely sick to know another baby his age was playing Russian Roulette with his own life. I lost 2 close friends within less than a year of each other to fentanyl poisoning (both were long term heroin users and got hot doses) and because of that, I’m going to make damn sure he knows how dangerous this crap is. I don’t know what the hell happened to teenagers just smoking weed and drinking beer at parties like when I was growing up. Those aren’t particularly great ideas either, but I never saw it kill or seriously harm any of my peers. I’ve certainly seen dope and fent do it though.

I highly advise against demonising weed though. Because to the 99% who don't have an underlying psychosis waiting to be triggered, it's just pot. Pot never killed anyone.
Testing your child for THC isn't the way to go. It will automatically lead to consumption of other drugs. Because weed dealers usually offer other substances as well.
I'm sorry for that woman but I really don't agree with her. Let your children smoke, they will do it anyway.
"But son, you gotta have a problem and we need to force you to go to "therapy" for that".
Nope. Weed simply feels nice. You wouldn't send someone to therapy for liking quality food and wine. It's like asking: "What's wrong with you, why do you like to enjoy yourself".

Unfortunately, as long as they're controlled by the black market, things like this will continue to happen, it's not an issue we can police our way out of. I'm an addict to methadone, I've been off Iv heroin since 2014 (the biggest mistake of my life) , and I feel this is a complete tragedy, this crisis is just heartbreaking. i can't express...No matter the circumstances we all are human, and no matter where you are from or what language you speak, we are all human, and you have the strongest most beautiful democracy of this hemisphere and I truly feel for you. I just want you to know, you're not alone. I know it's stupid but I needed to say it. We are together in this, it's humanity vs the practical devil.

Milo tell your story to as many kids as you can. It’s the only way to inform people of how dangerous these drugs are.

    Watching this one, hit different.
As my only child approaches her teens, I can’t even bear the thought of losing her.
From the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry for you’re loss. May God be with you during these difficult times.

The live footage absolutely devastated me…as a Social Worker/Criminal Justice Advocate, testimonies like this are crucial to bringing awareness to the poison that is Fentanyl…my sincerest condolences to the family❤
