This is one of the most affordable cars in the Philippines (as of this post) with a 1 liter 3-cylinder engine. It's a compact hatchback that delivers like a cup of joe (espresso in particular) and still maintains fuel efficiency. Here we test it on the steep winding Col. Guido road going up to Coffee Rush situated in the highest point of Binangonan Rizal. We also take it down from Antipolo to Cainta where we get caught in a freak thunderstorm with plenty of heavy rain and flooding on the road. hello sir, can s-presso do really steep climbs? like in lula cafe tagaytay?
Yes, we live at around 630 feet above sea level and the roads can be very steep. The S-Presso manages well even with 5 people onboard. But then of course, if it's really steep, you'd have to shift to first gear if its manual transmission and you'd have to sustain that for the duration of the slope.
Just open sell in Indonesia this week... Nice review to test with 5 adult persons and pass higher street.... But during rain, inside cabin very noisy....

Excellent for city driving and also efficient for the expressways. One thing I did not cover in the video is when braked at a standstill on a steep road with the engine running and fully loaded, you may need to start up with the handbrake manually released (unlock pressed) as you push the gas pedal down deeply (more than the usual sedan) because if you don't, and you give it too little gas, your engine might stall and you'd end up "naka bitin" precariously on the slope.
I really appreciate the free driving lesson when going uphill. I'm very familiar with the area and I'm starting to learn how to drive so I was wondering how to navigate the climb. Great content and keep up the good work!

During uphill climb na hirap ung engine, swithching from 2nd to 1st gear, nag rerev match po kayo o blipping the throttle before releasing the clutch o hindi na, smooth ba pag shift sa ganong sitwasyon ki spresso?
Hello. Basic quick downshift without revving before clutch release. Revving is after. Magiging smooth lang yung transition kapag hindi abrupt yung release. Kapag bigla, mag-thu-thud tung engine at mag-jejerk yung kotse.

Hi, bakit po pinipilit mag 2nd gear if smooth naman sa 1st? Di po ba pwedeng diretso na 1st gear lahat?
Pwede naman pero overkill sa konsumo sa gas kapag first gear diretso pataas at mabagal ang takbo sa first gear. Strained ang makina. Yung best practice kapag paakyat ay mag first gear lang kung saan kailangan at avoid sustained first gear. 🙂 I hope this answers your question.

Hii just a quick question where do you control the power window at the front? Is it on the screen or installed at the door itself?
The power window controls for the front doors are on the console above rhe aircon controls. Manual windows at the back.

Hello Sir , yun pung pag akyat diyan sa Col Guido? Is it comparable sa pag akyat sa Baguio or Sagada? Kakayanin po ba ng SPresso with 4 adults, konting gamit say 3 days change of clothes? Your thoughts please.
I think okay lang naman. Di pa namin na biyahe sa Baguio pero sa Tanau Rizal no problem sa mga zigzag and inclines. May mga S-Presso drivers na sa Baguio.

Sa guido kayo dumaan...na try mo sir sa medalva ung bigalang ahon na tiriik..
Hindi peeo mayroon steep roads sa looban ng Eastridge na nasubukan na nakatirik. Mas challenging pero ok pa rin naman kapot ng clutch. Kung di siya maintained sa oil change atpb mas mahirap ang pag akyat kaya sa 1st gear lang.

Hello Aldrin. 1.8L at Revo at mas malaki at mas maraming sakay (11 max) so kung 2 lang ang sakay, di kailangan sa primera kapag matarik ang daan, pero kapag puno, kailangan din iakyat sa primera kung steep talaga (depende rin) . Matakaw din sa gas yun kapag umaakyat.
@@arghentrock Thanks for the answer sir! Meron kasi akong agam-agam sa power ng 1.0L ng Spresso. Pero mukhang kaya naman, tulad ng ipinakita mo na 5 ang sakay. As long as umaakyat, ok lang kahit primera. Salamat po!

Yes, bukas siya noon dahil sobrang init ng panahon, para hindi gaano tumaas temperature sa loob habang naka park. Better na ngayon with light-colored seat covers.
Hi sir just a question how does the aircon perform, base ksi sa vid tirik yung araw so kamusta naman po ang aircon performance in a sunny day.

Malakas at malamig ang aircon at abot naman sa likod. Pag pasok ng car on a hot day, buksan muna ang mga pinto para lumabas ang init tapos i-set sa #2 yung blower tapos dapat halos sa dulo yung cool ng aircon.

@@thecasualguy2500 Sa experience ko sa early morning nag fog sa winshield at rear window kapag nag aircon. Remedy ang pag iwan ng konting gap sa two front windows until ma equalize ang temp.
