As I’m getting older I’m really starting to gravitate towards lighter, clean and fresh perfumes. I really need to try L’air du temps and No. 5 L’eau. Thanks for the video! Great selections!
Ok, I am going to check my Champs Elysee tomorrow. I have an old bottle from my mother and back then she would wear it in cold evenings, so now I need to check this in warmer days! Loved the video as always, and it is nice to see someone else journey to number 5. Took me a while too.
I blind bought Tsarina Intensivo and it just may be my most successful blind buy ever. After hearing your description of it, loving the accords & notes, and knowing that it’s the scent you chose for your wedding it really piqued my curiosity and interest. so when it came up for good price here in the states, despite having a bit of a reservation about her suede note, I still went for it, and I’m so glad that I did. It’s everything I love in a perfume. . . pure perfection. While I like many fragrances with a suede or leather note, I do struggle wearing them. Two good examples from my collection are Iris Prima (Penhaligons) and Bottega Veneta. I love both of these perfumes, and in my opinion the leather in both of them is prominent but super soft, creamy and caressing and blended and balanced very well. However, as much as I love how they smell, I still struggle wearing them all day, and consequently, I don’t wear them that often. But the way the suede is done in Tsarina Intensivo I actually find myself craving it and I’ve been wearing it days in a row. And the powder!….. the powderiness of this perfume is pure olfactory poetry. To me it’s both romantic and sensuous and I think it’s the crux of what’s causing me to want to ravish myself when I wear Tsarina Intensivo. I can’t imagine a more beautiful choice for your wedding day and I’m grateful that you shared it with us.
Yana thank you for sharing this! I’m so pleased you love it too, I also found a bottle and bought a second. If ever I can justify a backup bottle it has to be for my wedding scent, right? X
I’m a brand new subscriber and I stumbled upon your channel and I’m happy I found you! Your recommendations are just what I was looking for. I hate loud, heavy and screechy fragrances and gravitate towards clean, airy and my skin but better perfumes. I’ve already watched a few of your videos and I’m excited to try some of the ones you’ve talked about!
I also have Champs Elysees in old bottle and I love this scent. It is such a comforting old time nostalgic scent. I wear no 5 edt and it is my favorite.
So interesting, Champs Elysees, exactly this version, is my mother's favorite perfume for the predominant note (to her nose) of... lilac 🙂. In the new version, the "inverted heart" bottle, the mimosa is really strong
Tbh, I prefer mimosa to lilac. But I'm glad she likes it and her nose picks up the lilac note, it's quite difficult to find perfumes with this note that don't smell too synthetic
@@Overthinking_Scents agree there aren’t that many Lilac fragrances out there! I seem to recall that Lilac is usually an artificially constructed accord- like Muguet so perhaps that’s why it’s hard to find a good one. Do you have a favourite mimosa fragrance?
Have you tried wearing Pure Musc with Musc Noir? I didn’t love either until I layered them and now (together) they are a favourite of mine. Other standout clean fragrances are SL Clair de Musc and I recently picked up Unue from Jeroboam. It’s compared to vintage Samsara. I’ve never smelled vintage Samsara but I’d say it’s like a creamer fruitier current samsara. Love it. Maybe a little too bombastic to be a clean scent but the base reminds me of some of my favourite clean musks. Also really love The Musc by Essential Parfums. Oh and Sonic Flower has quickly become one of my most reached for fragrances. I’ve heard it compared to Fleur de Peau and Glossier You. Not sure as I haven’t smelled those two but it’s a beautiful musky iris with the most beautiful crisp jasmine floating around in the background. Received many compliments from strangers while out and about and that doesn’t happen where I live too often. My nose has become very picky with white musks too.
I wouldn’t say Sonic Flower is that similar to Fleur de Peau. The Jasmine definitely gives it a more floral focus by comparison. Also a lovely one! Thank you for the reminder of Clair de Musc, I have been neglecting my Serge a bit lately!
You've made me want to try L'air du Temps again. I remember finding the carnation note very harsh to my nose but things change and our noses change so you never know. :)
Such a lovely video! With cat purring, even. 😁❤️ I love thé L’iris, though I haven’t worn it much yet. L’air du Temps is my sister in law’s signature scent. Such a stunning perfume. It has a far-reaching lovely sillage that quiets down to a soft, clean scent. Thanks for another fabulous video.
The clean musky perfumes I love are Pure Musc Absolue/ NR, Apollonia/Xerjoff and Milk Musk (edt!) / Molton Brown. Thank you Cherie for this beautiful video! Greetings from the Dolomites/Italy
L‘eau papier is an ambroxan bomb i did Not like it I bought a sample of „Tuberose in Blue“ because of you and the first time i sprayed it i feld un impressed but few months later i love it!!❤
Great list! I have yin transformation (parfum), its quite linear but I think it smells like a very posh, clean, lotion scented cotton wool ball! I also find fleur de peau to be papery as you described, very dry and dusty smelling and totally wonderful! Its a huge compliment getter! It is way more 'papery' or 'old book' than l'eau papier which I find to just be a strong sesame dominated frag which comes across a bit too "savoury food' to my nose and I cannot get past that 😊. I'm definitely putting no.5 l' eau on my sniff list now! Thanks for a fab vid, I just love Fritz 🐈
Hei! Some great suggestions there, I guess I need to try Champs Elysees sometime. When I want to feel clean, I like White Musk from the Body Shop, I use both the perfume and the body lotion. I also quite like Daim Blond from Serge Lutens and Cristalle Eau Verte from Chanel.
White musk is great. I only have the oil roll on at the moment though and I’m finding I’m not reaching for it as much. Cristalle Eau Vert is amazing too!
I have a travel spray of Yin Transformation so had to spray some on to sniff along. I haven't worn this in a long time and forgot how much I like it! Totally agree that this is not screechy...and it's a little oily on my skin so lots of perfume oil, even as an EDP. 🙂 They have a parfum version now so I'm very curious about that one. Looks like you almost had a cat-astrophe there with the camera. 😄 Great video, Cherie.
OK, I have not stopped smelling my wrist since I sprayed this. This fragrance has mellowed since I bought it a year or two ago. It's SO much nicer now (not that it wasn't before, but it's just smoother and more complex to my nose).
I ❤Yin Transformation.
Loved Fritz directing the video
Same!
Haha there was a scene I cut where he was running from one side of the room to the other - cat zoomies. He was very “involved” that day for sure! 😂

Thank you for watching!

Your cat Fritz is so cute😹😻my nick name in high school was Fritz ☺️

No.5 edt is so crisp and clean. Perfect for anytime!

So true! There is a lot of lilac in here but Mimosa is still the dominant player for me. I need to try the newer version!

I just picked up Unue last week - it’s beautiful! I will have to try that layering combo with the Narciso’s!

I love this category year round 👏

I bought L’eau Papier when it first came out and liked it immediately but after getting to know it more, I love it! Really different for a freshie.
Such a lovely video! With cat purring, even. 😁❤️

Thank you Cristina! That Molten Brown one sounds lovely!
I’m very interested in trying that SMN Iris.
I didn’t realise it was re-formulation of an older one that they had in the cologne format. I never smelled the original, but I really enjoy this one.
Beautiful Cherie, thank you for posting this helpful video. Best wishes to you from Minnesota.

Oooh thanks for the feedback on Papier! Haha posh cotton ball, that is a great description! Fritz is the man. X

I love l'air du temps. Very pretty ✨
🌹
That L’Iris … ✨🤍
ps- thank you for another great video. I love your point of view.
Thank you Anna!
