Well, in Annapolis it's the Naval Academy, not (the Army's) 'Military Academy' up on the Hudson. 🙄 (Bet you knew that already). It's looking like the Perch might so far be the case study for the high end of what the Loop can cost. Lots of marina stays and fuel burn, not much anchoring and hull speed passages. Hope to make it up later, perhaps?
Yes, my apologies. I misspoke and realized it but then forgot to fix it. Michael (The Perch's captain) is a proud Navy vet so I meant no disrespect. Just an error and I'm sorry about that. I certainly wouldn't say we're a case study for the high end of costs. If we were, we'd likely have bought a larger or newer boat. We are not traveling fast the vast majority of the time. We've averaged between 8 and 10 knots on almost every leg. This leg we went a bit faster after fueling to burn out the engine. We are burning the minimum fuel possible on our particular boat, which is still more than many other boats burn, but there's not much else we can do to conserve fuel. It's not for lack of trying!

4 hours!?! Were they feeding it through a straw?! That is patience.
I was wondering if maybe the fuel pump wasn't turned on while you were fueling up and you were just getting gravity feed. 🤷♂
