I love the story of Abigail. She is a type of the Holy Spirit. I don't feel like there are any rated R words in the Kjv Bible. The devil and the world has taken the words and perverted them.
What Abigail did was good. However, good should not be the enemy of Great! God commands men to love their wives and for wives to respect their husbands. Nowhere in the text did it read that he didn't love his wife. However, she clearly didn't respect her husband. Great would have been for her to use her character, wit, and charm to sway her husband's mindset. And not berate him to another man. I am a firm believer in watering your own lawn and not making the grass on the other side of the fence greener.
She had lived with her husband and used God’s discernment to understand that his name Nabal was well given. He was a fool. If she wasted time to try to change her husband’s mind, there would have been a needless slaughter of her husband’s household. She saved her household, and she also saved David from shedding innocent blood. This is the Bible. The word of God. Don’t you believe it?
