I recently started learning how to make pickups and got the green version of this guitar about a month ago to use to test the pickups as I made them. I've been having so much fun playing the guitar as-is that i still haven't set it up to test my pickups...
The first one I got had a split from the neck pocket all the way through both pickup cavities so I returned it and the replacement actually looks like a good mod platform. I will probably get a neck on clearance from GFS for it and take some .0000 steel wool to the top to satin it out., sand and paint the F-hole (yeah, I said it!), put in a guitar madness A5 P90 and a G&B humbucker, swap all electronics with a CTS volume pot and a Fender TBX tone control, an Oaks Grigsby switch and a mini toggle for split/series/parallel. I'll shield all the cavities and throw some Guyker tuners and a new bridge on it. I enjoy working on them.
I love mine! I got it at the same time, just missed the extra 10% coupon. I had the SAME problem with the saddles, and mine had a backbow in the neck. Both are an easy fix! Great review man! I love your tasty playing for the sound test!
Yeah mine had the same issues with the saddles , so I changed them all because no matter what I did I couldn't get the ringing to stop. After that there's no issues. But I also installed locking tuners since the one's on it were garbage...
I just got one for $57 with a 50% off coupon. Other than a slight back bow in the neck that needed adjusting and replacing the stings, it's a great guitar for the price.
Thanks for the honest review! It seems like this would make a fine beginning guitar for just about anyone, and it would also be a suitable guitar for a project instrument for someone who wants something a little bit different. With hotter pickups it could potentially be modified into a shredder guitar, and the nice thing about the neck is that it too could be shaved down to suit just about anyone that wants a thinner neck, it’s always a lot easier to remove material than it is to add material. There are some custom P-90 pickups that are actually humbuckers and some have coil splitting capabilities as well, just as the humbucker already has in this particular guitar, however, I am not sure that you tested that feature. A person can always replace the existing humbucker with a much hotter version with coil splitting capabilities and end up with a guitar that has a wider range of sound parameters. Thanks again for the review! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
Wow! I am super impressed with that deal.....gig bag, tuner, strap, picks, extra strings, allen wrenches, shoot, that stuff is worth the price you paid for the guitar! And then the guitar is nice on top of all of that?!!!! Wow!
I'm proud of your progress as a youtuber, i felt inicially reviews were negative and not shine the bright side, but... 75, semihollow H P90, 21 frets. Yeah. At that price you can do pretty much everything.

Honestly, even checking back every day doesn't guarantee you won't miss a guitar deal. Not related to this guitar, but I've been waiting for Firefly's EVH style guitar to show up on their site, and it just did yesterday or maybe early today. And it's sold out again. Heartbreaking. But yeah, if you miss a deal, you miss a deal. Sucks, but it's the truth. Glad to hear the guitar is good though. I've been looking at GearIT for a while now.

Red numbers putting pressure on you...I've seen this kind of psychological warfare on the Chinese sites too! A P90 in the neck is always good, I got a Tele copy last year with one and it sounds great. And getting a gig-bag and accessories included is a really nice touch.
Can't get them in the UK ☹ Although I'm a total beginner it sounded great to me. I do smile when you see these reviews of guitars that cost thousands of $/£ and people rave how good it sounds, what after it has gone through TH-cam compression ? 🤣
The Gear IT sounds rythymically very vintage sweet ..but have to to say clicked every link to see the guitars and not 1 guitar will ship to me in canada.
I have this exact same guitar. The hardware on mine was terrible, but after dropping in a new Wilkinson bridge and Wilkinson tuners... it's like a whole new machine. Excellent sounding and playing instrument!
I don’t buy cheap PERIOD. My money at 61 yrs of age is buying name brand American made. WHY? Because I bought cheap crap all my life and I’m SICK of certain frets being so off frequency that they’re horrible to listen to even with my deaf ears! Especially the first fret from the nut played open. Horrible first fret to nut intonation! Even after a proper setup and that even happens with some expensive guitars. At least the good ones will fix it. Good luck getting that addressed with a Chibson
Man I really hate telecasters! They sound cool, and I know it's a very nice tool to have for studios, it's a very nice way to add texture and a solid layer, but man I always prefer to get another dinky! 🤣🤣😂😂 where is the metal dude? I thought he was going to record the demo for this guitar!
I have the strat style GearIT GST200 which is pretty good and it too has some weight to it. Rolled fret ends on mine which is nice. Only bad thing was, my high E string would catch under the fret ends on the bottom of the frets. Super glue fixed all that. I really enjoy playing it and like the bridge pickup. With a little work, these guitars are nice.
Yeah the pickups are a bit weak but for the price that's an easy fix. I have this guitar and might change them down the line to some Wilkinson one's I have lying around. The neck is the star with a roasted maple fretboard and ballend frets it's a no-brainer IMO!
There are free returns in these guitars so why not buy one and see if it's junk or not ? But contrary to Mr. Bald shredder, the reviews that are not blatantly paid reviews, they are awful... Semi hollow body for $66 geez that is a good deal. I guess no more using termites to make my guitars a hollow body.
nice one 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
But using termites can be advertised as "organic sustainable relicing". Then you can sell it for a premium.
