Thanks for the insight. Best part was encouraging canvas/cover makers to throw their info out. Great channel Matt, look forward to each one and catching up on ones from the past.

Thanks for this video. All common sense, but very helpful in making covering the boat slightly less frustrating. Well done!

Advice....go from rear to front. Some pontoons have a dog/door upfront, a 2 foot section flap, with the Mft warning label not to tow and a tag not to tow with the cover on. 2 tags,.our boat does not have those tags. We roll from the back to the front since we have the doggy door flap. We also fold starboard, 2 folds into center and port, 2 folds into center. This allows us to fold the center section into 2 foot sections and the doggy door always hanging out as our start point to unroll. But we are in a covered dock. We dont use the poles anymore. The pole section was brilliant! Most pontoon boats have 4 poles. We break down and store them in the console for customers. This would be good if your boat was stored outside since the cover will stretch and each pole will be different after time. After the mooring cover stretches from being in the sun and after time, you will need to adjust them taller.

Sir, I just got a pontoon boat. The boat is stored on a lift under a boat house. However my pontoon trailer sits outside. So why isn't there a value type cover. Most pontoons have the same basic shape and I see a lot of them outside all year long. I think there's a hidden market for it.

Have you looked at the Seal Skin Covers? Not sure if that's what you mean by value type cover...

    “Red on right is wrong”
A little phrase to help the beginner remember nav lights.
“Red right returning”(from sea) to help remember which side of the bouys to be on

Just a little brag here but my instructor literally wrote the USCG/DHS Rules of the Road for Mariners

Back in the 60's while going to ground school for a pilot's license we learned it by using a little saying, easiest way to remember things. it was "Somebody left the Red Port Wine".

What ever you do, do not leave the rolled up cover on the dock and sail off without it stored on board.. My son left the mooring cover on the dock and when he returned later that night, found critters had chewed holes in it. What a horror show !!
