    Regarding being too young to be an author: my friend’s daughter published her first novel at the age of 12. She’s also tackling a difficult topic-she wrote about a eleven-year-old whose brother has died near their home. It’s a traditionally published book that has received a lot of praise for originality, courage, humor et cetera.
    I believe everyone has a unique perspective and that everyone has stories to tell. I don’t think age is the defining factor. The passion to write is. (Also: skills can be learned. To get started with writing, you only need passion, even a vague idea, and something to write with.)

    As far as writing boys and girls, i generally agree with you.
    The older the character is, the more it matters. The younger they are, the less it matters.
    The differences would be in their insecurities, as you mentioned, and also their romantic fantasies as well.
    I'd advise watching media or books written about the male/female experience by someone of that sex.
    For example, i took a lot from Little Women and The Bell Jar for writing my female character, especially with depicting anxiety.

    Tip on writing male vs. female pov:
    In romance, guys are more visual and girls are more focused on feelings.
    So in a guys pov, he might describe how enchanting she is, or how beautiful she looks, whereas a girl would describe his confidence (or whatever fits your character), or his vibe. Now don't get me wrong, both guys and girls can describe looks and vibes, but that's just generally the focus for each of them.
    Also most guys somehow never think they're attractive. Some do, but I think guys will generally think lower of themselves than girls will. Guys will also not think of emotions as much as girls, and sometimes feel less deeply. (Again, do what fits your character.) And ofc the fact that guys sadly get way less compliments. Pleqse tell me if any of this was inaccurate! Hope this helped!

      @huntercoleman460 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      As a guy, I can tell as you that we can usually tell we’re good looking if someone says we are. My mother occasionally tells me I’m handsome but I don’t know if anyone else does since she’s the only one who said that. I definitely think writing romance is hard since they’re many different ways to write it because every relationship is different. I think both men and women can have confidence issues. I think of emotions sometimes. In order to make the romance in your story work, you have to make the couple believable as a couple don’t you agree?

    • @KaminoanKomedy
      @KaminoanKomedy หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @huntercoleman460 yeah I agree! There's so many ways to write it. And yea, both girls and guys have self-esteem issues. I realized that most girls I know have more self-confidence than most guys I know, and I thought that was really sad. Like some of my best guy friends are so insecure and I just don't get it lol

    • @huntercoleman460

    • @Rohan-th6hy
      @Rohan-th6hy หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd say these are pretty good points to work off of, but in the end the pov will always depend on their personality in the end ig. everyone here has made some really good points on this lol

    • @KaminoanKomedy
      @KaminoanKomedy หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @huntercoleman460 well if it's cocky or creepy I don't think so or I don't really care, I'm just uncomfortable. But if it's sweet and genuine I think he would be pretty confident in himself to not fear rejection and to know that his worth doesn't come from other people's opinions. Ofc that's not the only way I would be able to tell, but I think it's a pretty straightforward way (if that ever happens to me lol, it rarely does) Though I think a great way to know a person's self-confidence level is to straight up ask them if they would consider themselves confident. Not only the words of their answer, but also how they give them can more deeply answer that question than most other things.

      Hi there @Darceycole I know that you asked Ana this question but I think that I can help you. Ok so to start with maybe you can make all of these plot ideas you have into different books 📚 but as for sticking to just one it's ok that things in your book are changing. It's becoming the book that it's supposed to be. And maybe you will have to give it different plots to get it there. I really hope that this helps you!!!! And remember to keep writing and you will keep on getting better and better at it. And I'm still learning myself. And don't be afraid to edit. Things will get better in editing.

    • @faeyree
      @faeyree หลายเดือนก่อน

      i personally think any writer who has years of experience writing consistently is able to give advice. since you get better as a writer naturally and every one has their own process and i find it wonderful when writers share their methods. theres no “one way” to becoming a successful author anyway. even so, it’s not like she’s giving advice on how to successfully be a self published author. besides, the trad pub industry can be brutal and very selective. just because a book is rejected by agent doesn’t make it inherently bad. hope this helps!

    • @ph4780
      @ph4780 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@faeyree it doesn't make it inherently bad, but I do think it's a bit irresponsible to dish out writing advice when you've not published in any realm, including self. Where is the validation or critique coming from to feel able to advise others? Just because you practice something a lot it doesn't mean you should be an authority on teaching it right? If you haven't read her writing how do you know her methods are actually useful?
