I have lived within the shadows of Mt. Denali for 45 years and in my earlier Alaskan years, had a strong desire to conquer “The Great One.” Although I never made the climb, it has been very rewarding for me to watch the documentary “Denali - Walking Among Giants,” and to reach the summit vicariously through the Arctic Soldiers which recently did! I am immensely proud of SSG Swope who, as a little boy, he and his brother David, flew up here to Alaska as “unaccompanied minors” to visit me! It was a summer of Alaskan fun and adventure, and little did we know how fast the seasons would pass, and that one day a little Jonathan would make the transformation into one who would walk among the giants here in the Greatland! This documentary is very well done, and needs to be aired on PBS and National Geographic! These soldiers do us proud! Congratulations to each of you! -GB Jones
Hello All. I started (with IMG) on May 15th and summitted the same day you guys were up there. Really admired your smiles and bad-a$$ attitude each time we ran into you! Excellent job with the video, it brought back so many wonderful and torturous memories. For all that waiting at 1400 camp, summit day weather sure made up for it! Congrats! Thanks for posting and hope to see you on a mountain in Alaska sometime again. Also, most importantly, thank you for serving our country! -Gary
Excellent documentary covering many salient features with frank and candid contributions from the expedition members. A detail which is infrequently mentioned is that the atmospheric pressure gradient at polar latitudes (Denali 63degN) is steeper, the result being that the effective altitude is around 3000' (900m) higher on Denali than the same altitude in an equatorial zone.
Denali is the highest peak in North America making it one of the seven summits…. Has to do with the highest peaks on all seven continents….Might wanna delete your comment

I had to stop watching when you mentioned that it is one of the seven summits one minute in. It’s a long way from being one of the seven summits
