The inner stoner in ya misses the grinder lollll, the flower mills are some cool grinder tech you might like to check out
Great video.
LOOL i dont know about that, my family abuses pepper grinders had to replace 3 in the last year just because people are supper aggressive with it. I just bought one now but im keeping it in my room screw them.
This one might survive the abuse, but I wouldn't test the theory on that. 😆
...sponsored advertisement, maybe, or not? I am a professional chef in Finland.
Suddenly, I want a $200 pepper grinder.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am a pepper geek and that pepper grinder is a working piece of art unfortunately, in this world of a bidenomics I’ll have to settle for a little something more economical but thank you. Enjoy it!
if you think this is the king of pepper grinders, the weber workshops $320 moulin must be the god-emporer
I’ll have to check this out! Reminds me of my coffee grinder - the Timore Chestnut C2. High quality stuff.
I use those store pepper and salt grinders, never knew or thought about grinding plastic, going to have to think about this and do some more research. Appreciate the info.
are u sure the $200 wasnt just for the tax stamp to legally own the pepper cannon?
I mostly use coarse ground pepper & have some pepper "powder" (very fine) in the cupboard, so this isn't for me. That being said I have a kite that's as big as a Semi-Truck & Trailer that is worth $1,800 as well as a few the size of a VW Beattle that cost $800-$900 and many more in the $300-$600 range, so I get it. As far as my knives, my most expensive ones are the Drunken from Spyderco and a couple of MicroTech OTF's.
Incredibly expensive. You can get a fairly high end burr coffee grinder and dedicate it to grinding pepper for a lot less. As much pepper as you want at the press of a button and a greater range of grind size and near perfect consistency.
I can appreciate why it can be $200 - because from what I saw between the coarsest and the finest pepper I saw you grind and everything in between, that is what a chef needs to use for his dishes that are really expensive and he gets that back easily...but in a home kitchen as just a regular guy coooking in his kitchen, I would not pay any more for that then $35...after that it becomes a want...hell I have a brown standard pepper mill because we needed one and I got the biggest one for fun (want)....this is a cool item Jeff but they got you on this one :)
This is a fantastic! Definitely worth having a thoughtfully engineered item that you use daily. It's the little pleasant things in life that are so nice. I am definitely going to look into this further. What a perfect gift idea too for someone special.
Looks good !
Jeff,I was a professional cook for 20 years. Love your videos!
I just got one a month ago. I love it!
This just proves I will watch anything you come up with lol
I have a push button battery powered salt and pepper mills and they work great. They are about that size and each one has a light on it so you can see even in a dark room or if it’s casting a shadow while you salt or pepper your meat or whatever.
Today I watched a 20 minute video on pepper grinding... thank you jeff
i don't even like pepper and i still watched a almost 20 minute video in pepper grinders
I really want one, I cannot ever justify the price, especially living in Australia that $200 price tag becomes closer to $400 once it get converted from USD and shipping tagged on etc
200 is already a lot 400 is hard to justify...
To be fair, pepper grinders can last you a lifetime, so it’s ok to get a nice one.
Good point about grinding up plastic with those cheapie deals. I thought for $200 it would be motorized.
ive seen lot of automatic grinders but didnt like the one I had years ago it didnt work well
*Don't want to be contradictory brother, but the best pepper grinder in the world is a French Peugeot grinder* Look up the 'Paris U'Select Grinder' and you will see what being WORTH two hundred dollars looks like. Those things get handed down through families.
You can get a very nice Peugeot pepper grinder for $40. The French know their pepper!
I use a Peugeot pepper mill, its amazing.
Jeff, do you still smoke cigars on occasion?
not lately only becasue I still have high blood pressure and nicotine raises blood pressure...
@@cutlerylover I was just wondering. Since one of the tasting notes of many cigars is pepper, this video made me think of that.
I am satisfied with my $1.25 pepper grinder from the dollar tree.
I like the feel of old fashioned pepper mills I have 4 set up for different uses only one has granulated garlic the rest are for black pepper. I end up refilling the smaller ones more because I use them the most. The one I can compare is expensive is a perfex made in France. I wouldn’t recommend the salt grinder they corrode eventually with the salt. And I’m trying to avoid using salt because of high blood pressure. Otherwise I’d like to try getting an amazon knockoff of the crank perfex to compare. Plus I hope some of the parts are interchangeable since the crank has friction points cutting into aluminum and steel.
I’ll never understand fresh ground salt.😂
It's good for when you want really fine salt, it will clump otherwise, but for flavor yeah pointless
for flavor no haha its more or less to select the size on the go BUT only fort adjustable grinders a set gridner for salt isnt necessary at all..
