Because this music is so good it literally triples my preformance in class (im not Exaggerating). So its gonna suck when i come back to school irl because i cant listen to the soundtrack
I love how epic mountain recycles one of their piece from before and turns it into something new yet still holding some of the aspects of the original piece. Also I love how they used a nuclear alarm as the percussion part on 3:26
A Geiger counter is a device that detects the presence of ionizing radiation, it'll make a little "tick" sound whenever a particle flies through its detection field, so the more ticks, the higher the radiation.
I really love the theme at 3:26. There’s a subtle alarm in the background of it, and a the main melody feels a lot like the steady march of a “deadline” or an emergency with a very gradual onset.
I never noticed much about the music until I discovered this channel. Without the narrator's voice, you could literally add this soundtrack to anything; video games, background music, etc. I absolutely adore this!

oh my goodness. my favourite Epic Mountain tracks are always when the previous songs are built upon and made even more amazing. this is fantastic. please keep doing this
Epic Mountain has a *wonderful* habit of bringing back motifs from other videos. You can hear it in "Nuke a Moon" when they callback "Nuke a City," too
@@StevenAlexander44 Kurzgesagt does not own EMM, EMM makes music, they have a contract with Kurzgesagt to make music for their videos (idk the details, I learned about this from a EMM video's comment thread)
I immediately recognized the Geiger counter from listening to the Chernobyl soundtrack (like a nerd). Anyways, another masterpiece that sounds distinguishably Kurzgezagt with the perfect individual uniqueness of all your tracks. A little bit of technology there, some scary sirens there, and what can I say, this sounds like a nuclear reactor.
I love it when you use recurring motifs... The way the melody evolves and gets distorted from the motif of Climate Doom *as if by RADIATION* is breathtaking (kinda wanted the Nuclear theme to be featured in this song too)
This is my favorite track made by epic mountain hands down. A radioactive-filled remix of climate doom that slowly gets more distorted with the geiger counter sound effects until reaching a somber end. The motif from climate doom is so catchy & I thoight it was good until the first song of the year blew me away. This catchy part of this song the most enjoyable imo: 5:26-5:52 & 2:42
My ears just feel so satisfied with the Geiger counter ticking. I can go on why this piece is my absolute favorite! Also, nuke album is great as well, and the moon crashing into earth is just amazing! But this one paints a radioactive image and I love it!
The music you make is unbelievably well-made and on-point for each of the subjects that Kurzgesagt covers. Your music has helped me through difficult times, especially the Dyson sphere, stellar engines and Kardashev scale ones. They are very motivating. This one is a masterpiece too! Thank you!
Okay, question for the Epic Mountain Music folks - would there be an objection to someone making a mod for Stellaris that makes the in-game music player play some of their music in addition to the existing tracks? Because I, at least, pretty often listen to EMM when playing Stellaris, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find that others do.

It's not recycling, but instead something like a theme. If you look up videos with similar tune, it's all about energy.
@@AaronShenghao So that tune is like a leitmotif for energy then? It’s incredible how they can work that into the music so organically
this is why i REALLY love songs that incorporate motifs in them

Can someone explain whats a geiger counter?
A Geiger counter is a device that detects the presence of ionizing radiation, it'll make a little "tick" sound whenever a particle flies through its detection field, so the more ticks, the higher the radiation.
But i feel like I have some kind of phobia of that ticking. Guess it's just the idea of radiation?
