Why are our elected officials allowed to give their soundbite and then leave a congressional hearing? Shouldn't they have to stay and do their jobs? I can't just walk out of my job after an hour and stay employed.
I think they have multiple committees going on at the same time so some of them are running off to another meeting to do the same thing again. I agree with you on it. They should be giving their full attention and actually listening to the whole preceding if they want to put their two cents in.

While I agree that there may be other committee meetings going on that members have to go to, it doesn't explain why one side of the room seems to be mostly "empty" while the other side is not. I suppose it could go back to the fact that one side views the whole thing as a "sham" while the other is committed to pressing a point, but everything I watched so far doesn't give me that impression. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If they have an overlapping committee meeting the scheduling needs to be changed. Don't be on a committee or make remarks if you aren't available to listen to the whole proceeding. What's the point of having a hearing if nobody's there to "hear" all the testimony? That is like having an argument with someone who states their viewpoint and then walks away. Not very functional for actual resolution or problem solving.
Swalwell is a great example of someone that should be removed and banned from public office. Along with Nadler etc...

Ben is definitely speaking slower than normal for these people. He could have said much more in his 5 minute opening statement if he was speaking at his normal rate 😆💀. He probably wants to be heard/understood so he slowed his speech down.

I have never sat down and watched a full length congressional hearing. I've always considered this stuff very boring. But this is a first. When I heard Ben Shapiro was a witness in congress, I wanted to see it. And I planned to skim this. Some how, despite my ADHD, I was enthralled to watch all of it. Thanks so much for posting this for us to watch. I learned a lot.

As a female in the Dove target market range... we (my household) no longer buy Dove for our home due to offensive, woke ad campaigns they ran within the past 2 years. Most women have the household buying power and I vote with my dollars for my family; we now use Jeremy's soap and another smaller brand.
I no longer purchase Dove after using it for years. These “woke ads” are offensive for many women! They may not see the loss yet but they really don’t care. I personally think the conservative group they are rejecting is actually closer to 60-70 % of their customers. If all conservative families used the purchasing power they have, the Company would see the actual percentage of customers!
I have three bottles of Dove body wash that I refuse to use yet can’t bring myself to throw out! Agree totally.

I genuinely do wish the democrats had an ounce of distinguishable thought synapses firing within this hearing. It sounds like each and every one of them, when given the mic, has the same question and for the same two people. I notice (so far, I'm not done listening yet), that only the republicans and explicitly the womam in blue- with the eastern european accent, had used her time to address BOTH Mr. Shapiro *and* Mr. Juhl. It would seem the only time the democrats want to talk to Ben is to mention Project 2025. And when sticking to the topic of the actual hearing, they just repeat the same questions back to Mr. Juhl and Mr. Patel, who now have to find creative new ways to answer the same damn question. It would've been nice for a democrat to actually talk to Ben and about the subject matter of the hearing; but I understand how that could've been a risk that they don't care to take. It was genuinely boring to have quite literally all of them (again, so far), use their time to parrot the same question to the same people.
Aside from Ben, Ms. Spartz gave the most useful and powerful commentary of the entire hearing.
It amazes me how often legal immigrants love this country more than natural born spoiled citizens who take it for granted.
