I scoured the whole internet, and I tried everything and I just couldn't wrap my head around it. for literally months. This video explained the whole thing in 5 minutes and I actually understand it now. What the christ.
George is a very good teacher, that's why :) He knows how to explain things simply in a few minutes while giving good explanations. I've learn useful stuff from his videos and books.

Really good explanations! Just a question, what's the difference between ほど and くらい/ぐらい? Are there any small nuances between them? Are they used completely differently? Oh and on the topic of くらい/ぐらい, is there any differences between those two either? The ku or gu? I don't think there is but I never really looked into it or heard about it so I just want to be sure.

For example: "benkyou sureba suru hodo nihongo wo hanaseru youni narimasu" --- "the more you study Japanese the more you'll become able to speak it" But now this video says that, instead of "sureba suru hodo", I could just say "benkyou suru hodo" and it would mean the same thing? Is it a shortcut? Thanks for any answer!

It doesn’t make it informal. It’s normally the final verb in sentences that determine politeness level. Omotta hodo + desu/masu form = polite. But if we end the sentence with an informal form it’s now casual / informal.

Hi ビボ. NO!!! "gofun mae ni hodo" is wrong. Hodo explains amount/degrees about previous word. Ni needs verb after itself. So you should say "gofun hodo mae ni". Another saying is "gofun mae kurai ni". In these sentences , hodo and kurai have same meanings. Thanks.

"ケンカすれば （ケンカ）するほど 仲が よく なる". 2nd one already has verb する , so you just only replace いい to よい. "仲が よければ よいほど ケンカ する" Thanks.

I think ja arimasen is only for "na adjectives" Like omotta hodo nigiyaka ja arimasen= Is is not as busy as I though. Ja arimasen and arimasen are formal. omotta hodo muzukashikunai (desu here makes it a little less causal) is more causal
