Part of me buying the product is when i like the seller and feel at ease and feel i can trust the seller/innovator. 40% goes to I actually like the product. I’m that kind of buyer. I mean look at him, he is like a walking integrity

Nothing stops him from coming up with an idea and getting someone else to get the patent and for him to invest in that persons company. As long as he doesn't taken any ownership of the idea or patent and makes sure to give that idea to someone he can trust, he'd be able to make money from that without her taking 25% of it. Also, there may be an option in the future to buy her out (obviously it's going to cost a lot more than she paid initially).

this was an amazing deal, an inventor who gets a multi millionaire investor an all his products. his sales are going to skyrocket with her expertise and contacts, so even though he only keeps 75% of his profits, the amount going in his bank will be much higher, and the work will probably be more enjoyable for him too as he can do what he wants (invent) instead of the business end
This kid was imagining having to go through this process pitching and grinding for all the funding he needs going forward. Janine just said that she has so much confidence in all his future projects that she's just in. That could be really risky for her considering that this guy seems so out there.

This was actually a dope deal in my opinion. 25% isn't that much when you have someone willing to fund your inventions/ideas and market it for you.
I think it's a terrible deal. More funding will come with further negotiations & her owning (probably) an even higher stake in this dude's profits. He didn't even bother negotiating this time and seems like a pushover. Hope that changes/he does well

Claudia Valentine that’s what she said but that’s not what the money says. The money just says she will profit off of all the other ideas not that she has to invest anything in them especially if she doesn’t believe in them. She’s already put forth all she has too unless he built some contingencies into the contract concerning the other inventions. Theoretically speaking it would be in her best interest to help but if she doesn’t believe in any more of his ideas and he has to seek help else where she’ll still collect.

I read somewhere that these pitches are edited down In the full one, he detailed all of his past business experience. After just that one pitch, it seems crazy that he would get funded. 10k pairs a year is like 230 pairs a week.

I think he sold himself short. He should have asked for more money, because although they summarized it in so few words, he has an EXTRAORDINARY talent! He invents something casually, starts a successful small business around it and then flips it when he gets bored. He's not putting all his eggs in one basket. I don't think she's actually getting 25% of future patents, unless Australian contract law works significantly different than American. She's probably getting right off first refusal, she gets to make the first offer but he doesn't necessarily have to take it.
