It drives me nuts that Juliette sees everyone blocking things in their house, and making noise so people don’t hear, but she doesn’t do it in her own place. She’s completely ignored the flowers, so I knew that would come up in this episode, especially since the camera showed them a few times.
Are we not going to talk about how those security monitors are all WAY nicer than the computer monitors used elsewhere in the show?!?!
I'm guessing the outside is healed and habitable but the suit poisons whoever goes out in order to trick everyone.
@@jamorfati except that Holston was suffering and collapsing during a green "outside-the-silo" shot. Doesn't mean he's dead, it could be a slow-acting sleeping gas or something similar

@64mickh ok then I'm guessing it's just an experiment and they are taken away and digitally made to look dead to the rest.
although the outside is vibrant and green doesnt mean its inhabitable. the "Virus" is still out there at least around the Silos. I dont want to spoil anything here, so...
@@jamorfati yeah the screen flashing could have just been another screen they used to use when they first moved in for peoples comfort but when people were looking everyday and stsrting to think maybe it is safe out there and leave. The ones in charge had to change that and show the real world.
Imagine not knowing the ocean exists….then seeing it for the first time and knowing what it is…That’s deep. We live on a special rock in space. This show is really fun to watch so far.
Can i just say it's been a long time for a show like this to appear and keep me on edge! Every episode is like a small fix and this episode just raises more questions than answers! The intrigue is killing me! 🤯
The guy who waits for Juliet in the cafeteria... We only see HIM at night.... and he seems to know stuff... And he's always alone... And he says he has no friends.... He's certainly watching - he's spotted the "lights" and learnt Juliet's routine in just a few days.... odd, that..... (And just in case I hit did a spoiler by accident - I have not read the books or anything, I'm just watching and speculating like everyone else...)

@@jeffmattel7867 Nice. I still cant figure out why they banned elevators / pullies other than to really, really compound social segregation. Technology I can understand if you're maniac control freak, but... simply moving up or down in a vertical life cylinder? Its odd. In a possible spoiler - I watched an interview with Rebecca.., we know of 144 levels... but she mentioned 156 in her interview... so... there are some missing, Trump Tower stylee. Again, have not read the books. I will, after I watch this. Its only 10,000 people... you can't control information in such a small group.... nothing so far is adding up...

They've changed sooooooo much from the books..... and I'm here for it. It's been better than expected and I'm curious to see what direction they're going in for the remainder of the season.

There turning characters with no background in the book into key figures. I wonder if the series ending will be different from the book as well.

When the double the flowers in front the mirror line got explained it just leaves me with more question first of which is how the previous sheriff knew about the mirror
The black sheriff was obviously completely all-in and knew EVERYTHING! I have a feeling we are gonna get more flashback episodes with him.

I’m guessing when he looked further into George he probably found it in George’s notes or on the hard drive. Remember when Juliette found the videocamera and He said “maybe it’s what he wanted you to see”. Seems like he knew what it was
My theory is if Pez is at all competent in their marketing they will release a special edition Silo Pez. Hopefully that comes true. I have wanted so many replica props from so many different TV shows
And when you open it you fall dead where you stand. It would be a huge hit.

This is the 1st episode they acknowledge that dogs and cats do in-fact exist inside the silo. Well. Thank goodness for that! 🐕🐈

Cats would be practical in the silo cuz there’s no way they didn’t bring mice and rats with them before the place was sealed up

and she has something to with why Martha doesn't go outside, or Meadows probably told Martha that she is leaving and if Martha love her she would leave the place and come follow her.

Im curious about the outlaw of optical magnification. I guess it would mean the silo inhabitants would discover manufacturer markings on electrical products 🎉
i'm pretty sure it's more about control and preventing people from making small things that could be used to communicate or devices used to rebel. the silo functions on population control.

We see the judge's assistant put something effervescent in her glass when she brings it in. These are the best breakdown videos by far and I look forward to each one. Great catch with Sims in the trailer, that has me seriously reconsidering my theories. Connecting George's name to the Georgia book and the overlap of the constellation detail is next level.

Started out as a dystopian post apocalyptic adventure to become a 11pm detective show.

My theory on this show remains me if the movie The Village. I think the silo was made and a select group of people made their own way of life while cutting themselves off from the rest of the world. Nobody really talks about this great incident that destroyed the world. Aleast not often as they should.
I also believe the new mayor is the guy in control of the cameras. Remember he was so dead on that Julie stole the type like he knew she did. He was evening arguing with the original mayor.

That ending scene with all the screens reminds me so much of that Netflix show 1899. It literally showcased the same way. It’s such a shame that show was cancelled. It really was a masterpiece.
I get some Wayward Pines vibes instead. But I can't say anything more in order not to spoil that show (it's from 2015).

Did no one noticed that the screens they have to surveil people are much advanced (LED flat screems) than the one in the silo that look like old cathodic monitors?
All I know is those stairs in the silo would make a fabulous stage set piece for Barbara Streisand. Just imagine.... the curtain opens, and Barbars descends the stairs singing "Evergreen"...omg yes...💖💖💖💖
And if they watch everything why didn't they retrieve the hard drive that the first sheriff left...?

When you're over half way into the season and you're still unveiling more mysteries, I gotta think this is not going to have a satisfying ending.
I saw a TikTok of someone who has already watched the full season and they said that it does reveal some answers this season but it dosent show the big picture yet

It’s funny that they know what clouds are but not the stars in the sky. Why one and not the other?
I imagine it's because they don't encounter stars in the silo but they would encounter clouds, in the form of fog. Surely the silo gets foggy in places, and they seem to have an understanding of water vapor.

Ok this is what i think this serie is about, did you notice how the monitors in final scene are so diferente and modern? the Silo is some kinde of secret goverment project to see if is possible to create an underground society in case hour planet suffers some kinde of catastrofe.

I thought the same thing but then how would Holsten know about the cameras (via flowers note to Juliette) if this surveillance room is outside the silo controlled by a separate entity? This room has to be in the Silo for Holstein to know about the cameras and the best place this room would be located in the Silo would be the Janitor’s Closet.

I'm watching this and the series "From" and both have the same issue, a bunch of episodes with little happening.
Hopefully it will pick up a bit now she's been found out by those behind the curtain, or mirror lol

Yeah but the filler in FROM is next level bs, at least id say this show only had ep 5 that was poor
I still thing Silo is progressing in a certain direction and each episode new nuggets of info are dropped allowing the viewer to further theorize what is going on. In From there is no direction, it just loops around all over the place and often times the answers they provide have no relevance to the big questions. I still love both shows, but I thing Silo is doing a much better job of slowly unraveling the mystery. It also helps that Silo is based on a book so the producers have everything thought of, whereas From is an original and seems like they don’t have all the answers themselves.

The last episode is titled outside of we don't get good answers by then I'll call bs

This show needs to pick up the pace

Episode 7 is crazy
It's interesting how the show is different from the book. I won't give any spoilers, but all this part of the first book is only like the first third, or even quarter of the book, and while there are mysteries, they actually answer them fairly quickly and bring in more to keep you on your toes. In the book they do not focus on Simms, The Judicial, Judge, Billings, or George for very long at all. It is interesting to see how the show writers have taken the show in a different tone and direction. At this point it doesn't even seem like the show will cover the first half of the book.

I don't buy her story either even if it started out like that with Jules after she fixed the watch unless he's a psychopath he must have felt something

I was thinking that too but possibly not sims just cause sims seems to be out and about around the silo a lot and I’m sure if he was near someone he visited they’d recognize his voice. Probably another one of those janitor fellows. Or maybe the person those guys watching Juliette were referring to.

I like how most of the characters are not black and white: many possibly shifting alliances, not clear who to trust and how far… just like real life under a regime.
Oh I thought the video room was a whole other world. Like how video camera tech is illegal in silo. So I’ve been assuming the whole thing is a simulation or experiment. Also obviously outside isn’t poisoned but the grass that gets sprayed on you when you step out is

The only part of the series so far I find a bit too convenient is the fact that judicial hasn't sealed up the Digger under mechanical.

It was sealed away. Somebody dug a hole through meters of concrete to get to it. You can see how they put rebar rungs in the hole to make it easy to climb through.
Who does/did the drawings? That is why she lingered on it.
Luka said he was told that the stars would not be visible that night. How could someone have a weather forecast for the outside and how would Luka be tied into such an informant?

I don’t think they’ve been there as long as they think. It seems like anything that could be used to mark the passage of time is either banned or they don’t know about it, like the stars.
oh my god! i never even thought of that. again, i just assume what we are told about the concept, IS the truth. could be that memories were just erased at some point.
Or maybe they’ve been there much LONGER than they suspect. Even without documents or relics, basic concepts of the outside world like stars would be passed down through generations via oral tradition. That they no longer understand what the “lights in the sky” are seems to suggest they’ve been there for a very, very long time.
The revolution they talk about is when they actually went into the silo

Bernard is an interesting character that I find in the show. I think Bernard may be the one referenced to wake up.

The series is great. I just hate, that I spoiled myself completly. But I hate if you cannot binge watch in 2023. I simply hate that.
You can binge. Just save them up for Friday when the finale comes out. That's what I did.

The thing with the cameras I don’t understand is, how do they only pick up on her looking at this book she got from George’s ex but not her pulling out that file that Holston hid in the fan? Doesn’t make sense.
