I feel like I never see anyone talk about them!! I got a M1 Backpacker from a Duluth store a couple years ago and it’s been my favorite. Definitely an underrated & under-mentioned company.
Keep it! You deserve it! I had to move recently and just bought my first Shaman in CTS-XHP. Just waiting on some Metan Boss Copper scales and clip so I have to wait for my 1st White River knife. Soon though!
I got my first White River around 5 years ago when I saw them inside SMKW. After carrying it a couple days I realized it was my favorite fixed blade. It carried so comfortably and ergo’s were perfect. I love there stuff it’s awesome
thanks MC, wouldn't be too crazy to have fixed blades you enjoy every once in a while, and completely agree with your smaller take on an EDC fixed. Been looking along those lines myself recently.
@@freestatefellow Ditto... No matter which steel you get it in... The S35VN is the best option for most people.... But, DLC has it in 3V.... And, on White River's website they have it, limited run, in Magnacut for a great price.
If you have big hands, there are aftermarket scales for the Ursus Cub. I got the Ursus 45 and love it. Unless you plan to edc, my advice is to get the 45 first - since you want both (I felt the same.) But, you do you. No matter which, I am sure you will be happy.
I love my Ursus Cub. White River is also the OEM for some of the blades for Architect Knives (I think all of the MagnaCut, S35VN, and some of the 3V). AK has stuff ranging from 3" to 8", and the 3.5" is practically the Cub with a bigger handle. Might be worth a look because of the sheath/scales/etc customization options. Even though, as you say, you're not a fixed blade guy.
I started carrying a Pacaya with an Oak City pocket sheath… love it… thinking my next EDC fixed blade is going to be a custom Pocket MUK from Gentry Customs.
The white river reminds me of the benchmade saddle mountain Skinner in s90v it use to cost that much maybe 4 or 5 years ago I hate to see what they go for now
That White River Ursus Cub looks really nice. Certainly going to be looking at acquiring one. Idk if you heard, but I saw a video yesterday (on the Gideonstactical channel) about Crucible possibly filing for bankruptcy and closing it's doors. Looks like I may to fork out some cash soon for a few knives I've been wanting before CPM steels become a thing of the past.
MC, great to see you excited about a fixed blade. If you didn’t know small fixies are a thing in the EDC and fix blade community right now. See ya bud.
@paulmoss7940 I'm in Canada so our prices are a little bit different. I bought mine from a local knife shop and paid table price. It was about $330 Canadian
Still prefer Takumitak for my EDC fixed blades. I got the Havoc which is a spear tip double edge 4in D2 Titanium Nitrate coated blade and they have others all varying sizes shapes and styles at a fixed $70 no matter the length of the blade. They do have some that are a heavy duty stonewashed as well. Overall you literally can never go wrong with Takumitak when it comes to fixed blades and each style designed for different purposes and even designed by military veterans of various branches. The Havoc though is my EDC knife no matter what.
I carry a pocket knife because I’ve seen multiple videos of people getting attacked by animals. A guy on a bike getting attacked by a pack of 5 days and su coming to his injuries. Two brothers getting attacked by mountain lion. I like to go jogging at night and have dogs and coyotes in my area but I live in California and can only carry a 3 inch blade if concealed. This looks nice though. Could definitely use this on hikes.
Anything over four inches for a fixed blade is too long for me. I don't clean anymore animals now that I stopped hunting so I gave all my larger knives to my nephew for his future deer hunting

Did you see the new Demko? Nano
That white river is crazy good. The handle just looks so comfortable
I feel like I never see anyone talk about them!! I got a M1 Backpacker from a Duluth store a couple years ago and it’s been my favorite. Definitely an underrated & under-mentioned company.
have the exact same fixed blade, its a huge winner imo.
Keep it! You deserve it! I had to move recently and just bought my first Shaman in CTS-XHP. Just waiting on some Metan Boss Copper scales and clip so I have to wait for my 1st White River knife. Soon though!
The white river firecraft 3.5 is my go to carry fixed blade. It usually doesn't get much action beyond camping and hunting but its phenomenal

I love how the most valuable thing on the channel is the obsidian toenail.
White River Knives Ursus 45 and Ursus cub are two knives I have to own someday.
Man, the 45 is a stellar knife. Highly recommend.

Also, the Cold Steel Republic...
I’ve had that knife for about 6 months, very comfortable, easy to carry and works great
I’ve eyeballed the Ursus for quite some time, super cool!
I’ve had a Uranus cub for a little while. I love that thing so much
I edc the izula 2, but that ursus cub would replace the esee in a heartbeat. That’s a beauty.
White river knives are so good
I love my Ursus Cub. Great for camping too.
That a great white river, definitely worth keeping.
I started carrying a Pacaya with an Oak City pocket sheath… love it… thinking my next EDC fixed blade is going to be a custom Pocket MUK from Gentry Customs.
I got the exact same box from Going gear. It was a solid deal, I really liked both of the knives and the pen.
The Cub wasn’t available when I bought my Lionsteel M4. If it had been, things may have been different.
The white river reminds me of the benchmade saddle mountain Skinner in s90v it use to cost that much maybe 4 or 5 years ago I hate to see what they go for now
Happy to help you out with that lander if you need somewhere to send it 😂😂🤣
That's a pretty nice fixie.
If you ever want to try another small fix blade TRC Polheim is great option. The price is high, but the quality is excellent
Perfect bushcraft knife if had a Scandie grind.
I picked up a Kershaw leek in magnacut that's pretty awesome.
Hey Mr. Complex, can we please get a Quiet Carry Drift LCT review? It would be a Christmas miracle🎄💫

looks like an awesome camp knife
MC, great to see you excited about a fixed blade. If you didn’t know small fixies are a thing in the EDC and fix blade community right now. See ya bud.
That ursus cub is exclusive to going gear.
I immediately went and ordered an ursus cub. So nice!
what would you say is a good price on one ?
@paulmoss7940 I'm in Canada so our prices are a little bit different. I bought mine from a local knife shop and paid table price. It was about $330 Canadian
Awesome fixed blade!

How long has it been since you sharpened the Obsidian Toenail?
What kind of belt clip is that?
NIce.
I like the R4A Blade from CountyComm.
It's nice but might be too heavy for some
Very nice box indeed.
Just picked one up with Mexican Blanket scales last week!
I carried a White River Caper for about 4 years before switching to a TKell mr-1 pikal🇺🇸

I like the esse 3 in s35vn for fixed blade carry
Thanks
The fixed blade is pretty sweet.
you missed the table!! LOL
very nice fixy, I agree....
FYI Carrols Custom Scales makes awesome scales that delete that lanyard loop giving a better overall feel to the Ursus Cub. Highly recommend.
Damn, mean ass slap and a giggidy 😂
spyderco puuko is my edc fixed when it comes down to it
You should show us everything you have put in your truck. Hahaha. Do you even have room for passengers? And that there is my next fixed blade. Thanks.
Always love a pocket fixie, throw an ulticlip on that thing and you're gtg.
Looks like a good blade for 200 bones.
Great blade
Kunwu Stiffy P in Vanadis8 (63 - 65 HRC) is the best fixie EDC.
I have the m1 with finger choil..ligit
Size still matters
possible TKG ep on crucible going bankrupt?
Planning on it
8.2 on the slap
Nerds are underrated...NOT POOPY PABLO
Anything over four inches for a fixed blade is too long for me. I don't clean anymore animals now that I stopped hunting so I gave all my larger knives to my nephew for his future deer hunting
An ultiiclip would make the fixed blade pocktetable.
I will stick to my architectknives 3.5 magnacut it is super sweet in comparison to this knife ..
Not a fixed blade guy you say? Send it my way. :P
Check out Montana Knife Company fixed blades.
Put that in my truck bed 😂
Armatus sheath, IWB clip, black canvas micarta Ursus Cub… Still room for favorite folder in pocket… My name is Alan and I am not a…
Tops bull trout best fixed blade

Nice
Lot of good edc fixed blades. Long as you don't get me started on those stupid 3 finger fixed blades.😂
Likes small plain fixed blades and big fancy folders……
It feels rather uncharacteristic for you to not be into a big ol' slab o' steel fixed blade, tbh
