Love this music from my childhood in the 90's. I'm in my 40's now and still listening. My friend who is my age loved this wonderful group of the 90's. ❤❤❤
This was on Shenandoah In The Vicinity of the Heart . This was song 3 or 4 I think I brought this cassette new in fall of 1994. Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart was in the top 100 country hits of 1995 fact
i loved this marty rsburn song he dsinks it well ans it sounouds that allison ckrausea ccompanied him as the kiss at the end is absolutely priceless. an if that is not allison krause. it is stuill priceless as it makes my heart skip a beat or skip a jump rope. no matter it is in the facibity of the heart.
2:48 Jim Seales kills it with that guitar solo. You get to hear Jim playing the solo in this live version. On the studio version, according to the album's liner notes, Brent Mason plays the solo.
I was able to hear this song played on the Aviano US base radio and it's good to hear it again thanks to this channel. Country music is the music of the heart and soul. Angela Umbria Italy
This was our song when we were in truck driving school we were both with trainers and this was our song to remember each other by!! I still sing the song in my head and truckdriving school was back in 1994.
To the chorus of commentators sharing the effect this stunning song has had on you, I have to join you. It's perfection. One of the co-writers lives here in Nashville, as do I, we're friends and cohorts, and it got me thinking about the role of the songwriter(s) in crafting these masterpieces. In this case, the writers were Bill LaBounty and Rick Chudacoff. Their names may not be familiar to you, but you know their work - remember "Hot Rod Hearts," the #1 by Robbie Dupree?" Yep, that's them. And Bill has written or co-written "This Night Won't Last Forever" for Michael Johnson, "I Want To Be Loved Like That" for Shenandoah/w Alison Krause, "Rock My World Little Country Girl" for Brooks & Dunn, and "Drive" for Steve Wariner, another #1. So he's been on your radio. He's also recorded a 4-disc retrospective of his OWN Music, available on Warner Brothers, which I'd call West Coast Soul. Great production, his vocals are funky and R'n'B -flavored, his lyrics wry and real, and he gets players like Larry Carlton to appear on record with him. He's a legend in Tokyo (I've played piano with him there at the Blue Note), and they love him in Paris. Do check him out! I think you'll come away grinning. So I'd just like to offer a 'hats off' to the Songwriters, who continue to create these life-long memories for all us, seemingly out of thin air.
Truly beautiful. No Autotune and authentically as perfect as the recorded version. Thanks so much for uploading it. It's still blessing people years later.
first heard alison back in trhe 90s ice fishing in northern wisconsin at 13F below zero. was so blown away that i have seen her in concert and have every album she ever did. still want to marry her!
Hard to believe Taylor Swift gets millions of hits for singing trash while this incredibly good example of country music is largely ignored. Guess people who like Swift don't really like country. If you like this, you know country.
I agree but this is old. Unless you are a very hip kid with cool parents that TS crap is what you listen to. I live by this one motto and you sound like you will understand. I don't listen to anything after Chill of an Early Fall.
Actually Alison Krauss has has won numerous Grammys and other awards so far in her career: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_received_by_Alison_Krauss
@@BenjaminFordPhoto - We'll just have to disagree on this one, Ben. I'm heading toward 70 and what's being played today is a poor substitute for what I enjoy or enjoyed. Years ago, I worked at a St. Louis country radio station that didn't add a George Straight song to its playlist because a local focus group said it sounded "too country." I can't recall the song but it was one of the many number 1 hits for Strait. Conway Twitty was a pretty good pop star but he was a great country star. Exile was a pretty good rock band that became a great country band. Swift was never a good country singer but she's made her mark in rock, pop, rap... whatever chart she's on.

What a beautiful song...perfect match for this song.
So beautiful
Beautiful. Alison is such a baby here, but she put the "heart" in this song. These guys knew what they were doing when they got her for this.
Absolute masterpiece. Marty’s harmonies are just as splendid as his singing.

True country music Allison Krause is hot as anything.
Love Shenandoah so much, but you know in this track, you’re just waiting for Allison Krauss to come in and knock you over
Trucking song galore :)
They won a Grammy for this.

In my humble opinion Taylor Swift ain't Country music.
For one, your comparison is faulty. Two, I love them both. Throw in Vince and you get magic.
