fun fact!! hyperdontia is a real deformity, where someone has more teeth than usual. this can usually cause a variety of health issues and normally results in the extra teeth needing to be removed

I didnt know thats what hyperdontia was also I'm pretty sure I have this as a child I had like really bad like overcrowding teeth there still there its just not as bad and I had to get one or two pulled out and like I was a child like seven or smth so i cant remember but it was either my mom or the dentist who described smth to me along the lines of sometimes people after they loose there teeth they they grow more adult teeth than needed and bc of this people end up with to many teeth and may need to get some pulled then proceded to fill my mouth with shit and a needle and rip out my teeth

I’m so sorry you went through that, but I’m proud that you’re using songwriting and music as a healthier coping mechanism. I think that by doing that, you’re already proving yourself the better person. Because you could have lashed out (honestly wouldn’t blame you), but instead you chose to make something good out of it, and it’s even something that can help other people in similar situations. It’s bad, and ofc I know it but my whole being keeps telling me “leave leave leave”. It’s nice to turn these things into positive but it’s wayyyyy more difficult than you think
So if Novacaine is a prequel to this song ... Does this mean that the doctor and the patient in both songs are the same person? If that's what you were going for ... damn, this is both terrifying *and* heartbreaking.
If I'm getting this right (and I'm probably not,) then Flower started off as a dentist. A very irritable, impatient, and unsympathetic dentist, but a dentist nonetheless. Along the way they grew increasingly bitter towards their patients and grew a bit of a sadistic streak, maintaining a professional exterior while secretly taking pleasure in their patients' anxiety and pain. Now years later they discover that karma has come knocking on their doorstep; they have developed hyperdontia and must undergo the same painful treatment that they've been inflicting on others. Now that they're on the other end of the operating table, they finally understand why the patients acted out the way they did, and Flower feels extreme guilt and remorse for taking pleasure in it. They feel so much regret that they think they deserve to be punished, mindlessly ripping out tooth after tooth until they snap out of it. By then they have maimed themself beyond repair, resulting in that lovely picture we get at the end.
They are supposed to be two different people. Vflower just sings both songs.

Your taking it too literally, the song is about a girl who did things in the past that she regrets now. So she tries to act as a "dentist" to herself by pulling out "teeth" these teeth are supposed to represent memories and past regrets, the pulling process is her trying to forget and compensate for these regrets but by doing this she's only hurting herself more.Or atleast that's what I think it's about. Nonetheless your theory was good!

The prequal 'NOVOCAINE' is about the doctor, he says he's one anyway, and hyperdontia is about the patient!
Flower, the patient, was trying to run away but the doctor stopped him and in the end ended up with 4 teeth left!
The doctor got mad at flower and in the end pulled nearly all of his teeth out!
The doctor literally said "you're the one pulling teeth for an eternity" and he literally said that he keeps the teeth he pulls out
I saw a theory that Patient and Trash Dentist are the same person, but TD is older and got their jaw reattached and is now operating on their previous dentist, trying to avenge themselves

So I kind of had hyperdontia when I was younger? I had supernumerary teeth, just one or two, but yeah. So they had to get them out because they were affecting another tooth's growth, and I feel like that's what the song is about: there were memories or people who wouldn't let you improve or overgrow some things, but when you pulled them out, it turned out to be even worse than the the situation you were in before they left.

EDS (Ehlers danlos syndrome) can be a cause of Dental crowding (excess teeth). I know this because I looked it up and also the fact that I have both.

Hey GHOST, I'm sort of getting the feeling this is about your childhood. Tooth Hurty is a sort of alter ego of yours, and Trash Dentist is an alter ego for one of your parental figures -or both. I've read your post on Twitter and some of the stuff you said lines up almost perfectly with some of the lines in Novocaine and Hyperdontia. well, with hyperdontia i was kinda mindlessly writing whatever came to me, but novocaine was more intentional as creep suggested we collab again coincidentally very shortly after i realized what i went through wasn't normal
@@ghostandpals I see. I realize that when Hyperdontia came out, you didn't have the diagnosis for DID. But when I really started listening to the lyrics, instead of just singing over them, I noticed how some of the lyrics matched up with some of the things that you said in recent posts. I know that you've probably heard it before, but I am truly sorry about what happened. No kid should go through that, and what happened to you is happening to me - only slightly. But I really am sorry. And I'm glad you made it out alive. :)

This sadly reminds me of one time I was watching tv with my parents, and there was some news thing on about a dentist that would pull teeth out of disabled children. Just so he could charge the parents more. And then it even said how one child was calling for his parents, but they couldn't help their son due to the fact they were both deaf. The way the parents found out was when their son finally came and told them in sign language. It must have been horrible for those poor children, young children at that, and I can't even imagine how the parents felt. Knowing your child already had some type of disability and from getting teeth pulled that didn't need to, would have an issue from it for the rest of their life.
Smol Potato Yea, I saw something on the news like that a few years ago. There was a dentist who would preform painful, and I mean painful, procedures on children (I don't remember if it was specifically kids but I think it was) without anesthesia or any sort of numbing. Some even got teeth pulled. He wouldn't let the parents of the kids come in for whatever reason was convenient and I don't think he would prescribe painkillers either. He was obviously arrested and his license was revoked, but it's so disturbing and cruel to even think about. Some people are sick.
there was a pediatric dentistry that would preform *extremely* painful surgeries on kids, they wouldn't clean their utensils and would go through the kids like an assembly line. it was called Kool Smiles, which is a sketchy name to begin with. the worst part is that the parents would be completely oblivious, and they were paying the company UNGODLY amounts of money just for them to fuck up their kid's teeth more and more. a 2 year old girl died because of the heartlessness of this company, they would just bring the kids into a room and fuck their teeth up, one by one, never cleaning their utensils, and just doing some of the most inhumane things imaginable to these kids. it sickens me to no end

I have my own theory about this. I haven't seen any comments yet on what it's actually about. Don't worry it isn't about an asylum murder or someone going insane and like that. But it remind me of something I did myself. Hyperdontia is the over production of teeth and memories are mentioned so I'm guessing it's that he's forcing himself to forget painful memories throughout the song yet when they are brought up it causes him to panic and it all comes flooding back and he has a panic attack. I think it's symbolised by the face his jaw and all his teeth are gone that he's "removed" so many memories it's actually causing him great pain

I think the song is about PTSD because of the gross malpractice vflower has experienced. Like "flashback memories" and flower says "make up for forgotten years". As if they are trying to heal from the trauma which I would assume happened years earlier with the dentist from novocaine.

So yeah this song came out a long ago but I just found it recently, this is just a theory and y'all might think this is a stretch but I couldn't help building a story for these characters.
So, let's begin from the start: Toothy Hurty (I'll call them TH) has hyperdontia. Let's say this started affecting TH since their teeth began to appear, since early childhood. TH parents were scared, they were thinking their baby wouldn't live a normal life having more teeth than normal, so they take TH to a dentist. This becomes regular, every month or so, TH goes to the dentist, the dentist pulls the extra teeth. But then, the dentist becomes tired of doing this regularly and not being paid, since TH are paying the dentist with "appreciation". So, the dentist becomes sadistic. They lower the dose of anesthesia to the point TH feels every teeth being pulled, feels all the pain. But, if TH says anything, the dentist says they never did anything to deserve this hatred, that all this fucked up memories are side effects from the anesthesia. And, remember, this been happening since TH was very, very young. This trauma is so strong that they have amnesia after some years, and my theory is that TH developed Dissociative Identity Disorder. DID is a Disorder that appears on people with severe childhood trauma, it makes your personality split in separate states of personality, and that happens only if your personality wasn't fully developed.
In my theory, TH has at least two alters, one of them being the host, Toothy Hurt, who's not fully human, since they can survive lacking their lower jaw, and a persecutor, The Dentist.
But anyways, this is just a theory.

What I'm getting is either someone close to the victim or the victim themselves are pressuring them to leave an abusive situation before they're ready or prepared to, like pulling teeth. If they stay, they're a weak person - the infection spreads. On the count of three, they need to get out or else - but it's never really that simple.
The victim is still coping with flashbulb memories or flashbacks, shutting down or dissociating like a patient under anaesthesia, trying to cut out any indication they're still dealing with the effects of PTSD - because it's over now, isn't it?

Honestly I'm super thankful of GHOST and other vocaloid producers. Music like this has gotten me through difficult years. Even the songs of GHOST's past, even if they embarrass them now, they helped me feel less sad in a time when I was feeling bad pretty much 24/7 . I know i have a bad habit of oversharing random crap on GHOST's videos so I'm going to stop here, but thank you again. Your music has helped people, even if it maybe doesn't feel like it. Guys! This seems like more like a prequel! You see, in novocaine, the doctor has a line going where their top and bottom jaw meet, and this character has a simialr look, this is the doctor when they were younger, their doctor was bad and removed their jaw but they reattached it, but they're still In so much pain that they spread it to others with the same infection(hyperdontia, witch is probably what the person had), hence why in novocaine, the doctor rips the patients jaw off. You see?

nope, she's japanese! i don't know what you mean by (ctrl+arrow key) but i did a lot of extra editing to get her to sing english
GHOST Actually, in V3 and V4 (The softwares), you can edit the way Vocaloid speak to "change" the language. Now I can make them sing: Indonesian, Papuanese, and even Lampungnese! I got that trick from Pro-Vocaloid on TH-cam 😄
But, there's a few "unique" letters. "R" is typed "4", for unknown reason.
After you insert lyrics, you'll see the "Pronounciation" in the () right? Edit them.
Example: You want V Flower to speak "Datta". Try the CTRL+Arrow Key, the bar will change color. After that, type "d a t", and different bar, type "ta" (With spacebar for each letters)

OHHH you're talking about changing the phonemes! yes yes thats what i did ahah - there's also the [_0] phoneme extension which makes the vocaloid whisper the vowel which is rlly helpful too
