      Yes, that is correct but a defamation case is based on fact -based on the “writings” which are admitted. I can see absolutely why they are included. Depp’s attorneys are aware that the case relies on fact not opinion and will also produce evidence in writing to balance the evidence. But that is NOT enough: the burden of proof is his by a preponderance of the evidence which makes this case difficult as he’s the plaintiff.

    • @andrewlopezmp3
      @andrewlopezmp3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the point from rottenborn there is that the defamation case from Depp is on rocky ground - they’re trying to prove one specific article by heard was the cause of his career losses, but rottenborn is pointing out that his career was already on a downward slope.

      He has to cut Depp off, it's part of the tactic. Blaze through all of the worst things you have found, don't allow the person on the bench to reply fully, because when you're defending lies context can be damaging to your "case". His opinions about her career after they broke up and she filed for divorce and tried to ruin his life are irrelevant. Obviously there will be bitterness. His opinions about feeling like getting physical with someone "asking about that ****" are not relevant. Because the level of unwanted public attention in a case like this are unimaginable and being treated as guilty without any enquiry after an allegation has been made is very frustrating. Note that in spite of the remarks he made he hasn't been charged with any crime.

    Its upsetting hearing these snippets of what Johnny went through. It's odd that she and her lawyers thought these secretly recorded audio is proving her being a "victim" when it's actually the complete opposite. I mean how long was she recording him for?? She's inadvertently outing herself as a manipulative calculating narcissistic lunatic. I don't see how she's going to come out of this intact. She ruined his reputation with lies so she deserves what's coming to her

      she's ruined her reputation simply due to the fact that she secretly and illegally recorded everything. imagine singing an NDA with her name on it only for her to turn around and reveal the contents of it or to do an op ed on it or to reveal secret information to the public in the cut throat business that she is in. She's an emotional manipulator, and as such truly thinks she is right and the victim. Johnny tries to step out of the triangle of being either the victim, the perpetrator or the rescuer and is therefore the ultimate perpetrator in her mind. Being an emotional manipulator makes for a very unhappy life and drags other people into having an unhappy life as well. Johnny is in his power and is completely open to what needs to be done. I love him even more than I did before. He is a very wise man.

      “Yeah when I fell of my bike.”
      “Yeah when you pushed me off my bike.”
      It’s completely possible he just worded it one way, and yet this somehow is evidence that he did it to himself when it’s just wording used at the time.

    What I see is a mix of addiction, past trauma, past relationship trauma, co-dependent, domestic violence ( 3 different kinds) narcissistic ball of toxicity. I myself have been in relationships similar to this one, currently I'm in one now with my husband. It's very surreal to see that "Celebrities" as famous as these two are going through the same thing as the rest of us have. These kinds of relationships have been around since the beginning of time but I feel like for the past 15 years or so it's become apparent. Speaking for myself I had no idea that there were other women or men going through what I was going through, I didn't know that there was physiological terminology for what I was experiencing. Up until 3 or 4 years ago I hadn't dealt with all of my past trauma and I decided to educate myself on the clinical phycology of my situation. I've learned a lot and it's truly mind blowing how crazy these types of relationships are. The mental and emotional impact it has on someone who's been through this is so damaging, and it's the kind of trauma that we will have to heal from for the rest of our lives. It effects everyone who is involved or around us and it's so incredibly sad and painful to me that this type of thing is still going on but isn't taken seriously.
