If every Expat in a local area for example, Jaco, payed $10 an hour. Then everyone in that area gets used to that kind of pay and then that area become "Gentrified" Gentrification is the process whereby the character of a neighborhood changes through the influx of more affluent residents (the "gentry") and investment. That area then becomes to expensive for the local people because prices go up in everything from food to housing.
Doesn't matter what you think about the TITLE. The real question is did you listen to the whole podcast? This channel is here to help people understand Costa Rica and avoid being taken advantage of by BAD Ticos.
Allen said, a teacher makes $2K a month in CR. If she's a Tica making that kinda money I'd think she'd live like a queen in CR. How come they think she's poor if they make $3 an hour or $650 a month.
Good question. Most teachers don't think they are poor...that is why so many ticas choose to become a teacher. It is above avg salary. Compared to $3 an hour...which is very poor...she is doing good.
You haven't put any reason as to why you don't like me? Sounds like you are just a troll. I'm not here to make Ticos happy....my channel is here to teach Expats and Gringos how to enjoy Costa Rica and avoid the dangers that come from the BAD Ticos who try to take advantage of them.
The gov't doesn't even care much about their own people....much less the indians. It is discrimination in many ways...no different than discrimination in other countries.
@@eveliinatistelgren172 the important thing to understand about CR.... CR has a LOT of Laws...but nobody to enforce them. So, it doesn't matter what the constitution says. If nobody enforces a law...what good is it. For example...the huge trucks come roaring into town...everyone can hear and are annoyed by the Jake Brakes....pow..pow...pow.... And...there is a law that says....DO NOT USE JAKE BRAKES in town. But CR does not have enough Traffic police to enforce the law....so everyone is annoyed by the people who break the law and use their jake brakes in town.
Thanks a bunch, great info!
Glad to be of service. You are welcome.
You also said that it would disrupt the local economy if you paid someone $10 an hour. This might sound dumb but why is that?

400 dollars ...ten times less than U.S. labor.
Do you realize how stupid this title reads?
You are promoting discrimination in a country where you weren't born.

By what methods are Indians discriminated in CR? How come everyone pays them less and gets away with it? Does the government not care?

@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica Doesn't their constitution grant them equal rights?
