I think my adopted son may have FASD. He has had open heart surgery, has an IQ of a 72, has the epicanthal folds, is almost 13 but he looks like he is 8 (short stature and underweight for his age), has speech issues, spatial problems, doesn't have very good coordination, has emotional issues, ticks with his eyes and mouth, and sometimes behavioral issues. I have asked his cardiologist and he said he hasn't been a GP in a while so I need to talk to his pediatrician. Pediatrician has referred me to an endocrinologist to check his hormones and a neurologist for his ticks. He has already had genetic testing done and results were fine but I strongly feel he has it. Who do I take need to see to get a diagnosis?
It could just be ASD (Acute Seasoning Deficiency), caused by not getting enough of the essential spices and seasonings, like A-1 Sauce, soy sauce, mustard, or cayenne pepper.
Interestingly enough there are so many men that drink alcohol or smoke weed in eastern europe (and also in whole europe 50 ys ago), while women tend to only smoke tobacco.
I totally disagree with this video. Most of the videos i have seen , are not a lot about the physical appearance. Actually it says most FASD kids don't have any outward physical features. Most has to do with IQ , it has to do with brain damage. From what i gather, if you drank at a certain time, you may have physical deformities, if you drank at other times, you will have brain damage. ect,,,,, It is a very wide spectrum of issues.
The video is about fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) , the most severe in fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). It is a supplement for diagnosis, so would apply after diagnosis of cognitive issues, delayed physical development etc. The video is differentiate FAS from other similar appearing disorders using it's unique markers.
FASD effects physical features. Not much behavioral, that was a old way of looking at FASD. 2020 to now, FASD we diagnose with physical, motor, and developmental delays. Btw I’m a Licensed Child Therapist.
@@naturephotos-nz5uq my mom looks totally normal and has FASD. Most people would never even know she has a form of it though... Until they really get to know her or once I tell them about my childhood etc.
Idk why sum ppl want to make another human being feels less normal when they look and act normal just like everybody else. Just because someone is less intelligent ppl think they are not normal or just because someone have a body abnormality means they aren't normal. Why can't these so called doctors, government and psychologists just leave ppl alone to just live their life. As long as an individual know their surroundings, know what's good for them, and know their daily living routines, they are normal.
A diagnosis leads to a treatment plan which hopefully leads to a better quality of life for these people. U can't ignore it away, people with this condition will suffer more with that poor logic.
Liked all the little patients, esp Lucy. What a doll.....
Yea when they’re babies .. it’s not so cute the older they get
I hope after 10 years there is a software that can measure and diagnose from a picture with a calibrated element in view
That is such a cute baby girl, I can't even.
