    Wow, Mike both the school and you are winners. That was a fun video to watch, and that last drum you did, the one you stained turned out beautiful. Nice job on the drums and nice job on the video. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

      I agree, given the complications with public schools selling equipment, giving it away is much more simple, and I made sure to make it worth their while.

    I like a good ol P85, but yeah always seem to be replacing them...I'll have to check out the P88. The old field drums make cool 15" floor toms, and with the new trend, you could keep the snare part, have have a snom (snare/tom) for a left side drum or something.

    • @malonedrum
      @malonedrum  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan, and thanks for your insightful and thoughtful comment.
      I would say my justification throughout the video what I choose to do and why would explain that it was on my advice, but maybe you didn’t watch that closely.
      P85s were a standard issue throw that did their job for decades, but in the world of constant abusive by students and schools on instruments, the newer P88 has been a wonderful upgrade to keep these amazing shells holding steady for decades to come.

    • @alanduncan1980
      @alanduncan1980 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malonedrum yeah, I have a couple of snares with the p85. There's nothing wrong with them. I wouldn't replace one unless they were completely broken. The p85 gets a bad rap, but there's nothing wrong with them as a throw off. Those ones seemed OK to me. Will you sell them on behalf of the school? Because there is some value to them.
